FFS Cup

Second FFScout Cup – Entry Now Open

Fantasy Football Scout are delighted to announce the dates of our second public Fantasy Premier League Cup competition for the 2018/19 campaign.

We are launching another open-to-all tournament with £300 in prizes on offer.

Sign-up for the open tournament can be found here.

The roll call of former cup winners looks like this: donnellyc, Jonty, Gribude, Goonerdave, Ninja_Fit_Saints, sleeping master, Mch, Wild Rover, Tdubb05 , CMIFLFC, Mark, Leon Harris, A Manager Has No Name, Sleepysi, TH14, 2EyedTurk and our reigning champion Man-Chest-Heir F.C.

As former winners, those listed will gain a bye to the first round of the tournament should they enter with the same username.

If you’re new to our cup competitions, read on for an FAQ, offering all the details.

How does the Cup work?

The FFS Cup is very similar to the Fantasy Premier League’s own Fantasy Cup game.

Entrants who qualify for the first round will be randomly drawn against each other and the winner of the tie is whoever has the highest score from that Gameweek, minus points spent on transfers (like in the original game and in head-to-head scores).

In the event of a tie, the manager highest in the overall FPL rankings after the tie will progress.

When does it start?

The qualifying round for the Fantasy Football Scout Cup will take place in Gameweek 28, with the first round proper running in Gameweek 29.

Fantasy managers can enter their teams from now right up to 18:45 GMT on Tuesday February 26, when we’ll stop entries and make the first round draws shortly after.

Previous winners must enter with the same usernames listed above to gain their bye.

How do I enter?

Enter the open-to-all FFS Cup via the entry form here.

You will be sent a confirmation email to verify your entry and you’ll be asked to confirm your FPL team ID at the point of entry – please be sure to click the link to verify that your team is correct before confirming. If you FPL team is incorrectly entered, we cannot amend this at a later date.

Your entry is only completed once you have confirmed your FPL team ID as part of the process.

To check that you’re entered correctly, please scan the list of entries.

The open-to-all FFS Cup list is here.

How do I find my FPL team ID?

Your FPL ID is your unique ID for your FPL team. This is found via your Gameweek History page – the link to which is found in the right-hand menu under your FPL team strip. When you visit your Gameweek History you will see a number in the URL (as opposed to the XXX here: https://fantasy.premierleague.com/a/entry/XXX/history)

Place this 1-7 digit number, or your Gameweek History URL, in the FPL ID field on the entry form.

When will I find out if I’ve qualified?

Results from the Fantasy Football Scout Cup qualifying round will be published shortly after February 26 and then weekly, after the completion of each Gameweek, from that point on.

What is the Gameweek Schedule?

Both these cup competitions will be played out according to the following proposed Gameweek schedule, though this could be subject to change.

Fantasy Football Scout Cup Round Dates
Qualifying – Gameweek 28

Round 1 – Gameweek 29
Round 2 – Gameweek 30
Round 3 – Gameweek 31
Round 4 – Gameweek 32
Round 5 – Gameweek 33
Round 6 – Gameweek 34
Quarter-Final – Gameweek 35
Semi-Finals – Gameweek 36
Final and third place play-off – Gameweek 37

When are the fixtures released?

Where possible, the fixture list for each round will be published a day or two before each Gameweek deadline.

The first round draw for the open-to-all cup will be made and published shortly after February 27.

Prizes

Overall Prizes
The prizes for the FFS Cup are as follows:

1st Place: £150 Amazon voucher
2nd Place: £100 Amazon voucher
3rd Place: £50 Amazon voucher

Do I have to enter if I’m a previous winner?

Yes, because your FPL team ID will have changed so we will need to record your entry again. As a previous winner, you will be given a bye to the first round proper.

Do I need to be registered with Fantasy Football Scout?

We ask you to supply a Fantasy Football Scout username so we can feature you, as a member of our community, in any articles associated with the tournament.

Ideally, you will already have a username with us, but this is not essential to enter.

You must, however, supply a username for the purpose of the tournament so you can be identified in articles.

You must not change this username throughout the course of the tournament. Should you do so without permission, should you enter multiple teams, or if your FFS account comes under moderation for any reason, we reserve the right to remove you from a tournament at any stage.

I have Kun so it’s more likely I’ll just hold and hope. I don’t see Southampton capitulating to them. Likely cap Salah if so.

Was set on getting Aguero in before GW28. Should I avoid getting him in now the blanks are confirmed? Or still get him in?

What does Kane coming back mean for Son - good or bad?

Spurs are a better team with Kane so it can only be good. Son is in fine form and integral to Spurs. I wouldn’t factor anything in but that, as at this point it would just be over thinking.

I suppose he has had a 10 day rest

But they do have 5 games on the trot every 3-5 days including Chelsea Arsenal and Dortmund

Poch isn’t much of a rotator aside from his full backs. When it comes to the main men such as Son and Kane at the moment then there is very little rotation threat IMO. And that’s the exact type of over thinking I think should be avoided. No way a potential (unlikely IMO) rest for Son is a reason not to get him.

Ya this is my second season. Properly playing for the first time, somehow players I want to bring in because of good fixtures seems to have a match in 31 too. So it's not like I am bringing in shitty players to navigate BGW.

There are always players that have a good run and a fixture in the blanks and are epic fails
Pereira reeks of that this year

I used my FH in GW 31 where Salah scored a hatty or something and ended up with 100 points. Being a novice I used up all my chips early. But maybe not having any chips last year allowed me to focus on players in form and caught up 70 points to mini league leader who had all his chips in last 7 GWs.

Oooooooh yes. And the best bit, it’s what we’ve been waiting for all season. It’s only fair the likes of Huddersfield, Burnley and Fulham get their chances to shine in our FPL teams.

I remember I was having an awful Gameweek 1 year and was fully reliant on the final game in that week which involved Liverpool - I had Gerard Suarez & Sturidge left to play - got something like 70 points from the three of them. Ultimately you just need good players in good games.

Own taa, salah and hamer currently for bgw31 and might get f.anderson this week

    Do I;
    A) do FH in 31 and plan for 32 over next few weeks
    B) plan for 31 and FH in 32

Also have WC and B.B. left

It’s tough to say I mean I’m sure they’ll be a lot of hits flying about. Most will field 8 or above I would have thought. As long as live the main guys that’ll be damage limitation. I personally prefer to FH32 but I have 7 players who do not blank.

Good players who saved their chip should have somewhere between 7 and 11. 9 average maybe for those who are not free hitting.

Would you sell Son to enable Kamara to Aguero for free in GW28?

    Spurs fixtures GW28-33:
che, ARS, sou, blank, liv + CRY?, BHA/blank

He might blank in 33 also if Brighton beat Milwall.

Can get him on FH32 if needed for DGW or later on WC34.

      Same question mate.

He can definitely punish but I’m wondering can Aguero punish me even more.

If you’re not selling him in GW28 I’d wait till GW31 then. But the problem is you won’t know if he’s blanking or not in GW33 before GW31 deadline.

Milwall are poor as per the post i read over here. Brighton have a good chance to get to the SF imo
So we can consider him maybe out of gw 33.

Will sell in gw 31 definitely OF i do sell him
In your case getting kun is great upgrade

Yup it’ll be hard keeping him in 31 knowing that you can get him back on FH32 or WC34. If he’s out for 33 as well it’s a no brainer unfortunately we won’t know that for sure but like you said Brighton should win.

For me Kamara to Aguero just looks too good an upgrade to ignore.

    Siggy and firmino to

Would mean a - 4 next week to get kun in.

Auba is in line for 3-4 big chances, if not more in their two home games, the guy is a seriously dangerous forward at the best of times

He has the best fixture in GW27 & an absolute peach of a fixture in GW28 against Bourenmouth's quite frankly shocking away defence

No guarantee's he'll haul, but the dominos are all lined up - only fly in the ointment is Europa League

So in order to get 11 playing this GW:
Quaner, Haz, Alonso for -> Jiminez, Son, Pereira? for -4

Would leave me with this lot, still undecided on how to play my chips (all unused), but kinda leaning towards fh gw32, just dont want to use all my trades only looking at that bgw 31

    Fabianski, Speroni
    Doherty, Digne, Robertson, Wan-Bissaka, PEREIRA
    Pogba, SON, Salah, Moutinho, Richarlison
    JIMINEZ, Rashford, Agüero

Not sure I'd advise this - no guarantee Boruc will even be in the team come GW31, let alone keeping clean sheets - he's also 40 & has shipped 5 goals in his past two (including cardiff)

Ccould see him being a short term ploy by a fraudulent Eddie Howe to try to jolt Bego back to life

Yes - he has shipped 5 goals in his last two games - which part of this do you disagree with exactly?

Let's not get too carried away with a home clean sheet to a Chelsea side in disarray and a home clean sheet to West Ham?

100% CS record at home. You're talking absolute rubbish about Howe and Begovic. What's your source? Intuition?

To address your first point (100% CS record at home) - He has one CS against West Ham (who have managed 1 goal in their last 4 away games) and one CS against Chelsea who were, shall we be polite and say, ''struggling'' at the time. Hence let's not get too carried away with a home clean sheet to a Chelsea side in disarray and a home clean sheet to West Ham.

To address your second point - there is NO guarantee of Boruc starting every game from now until GW33, to suggest otherwise is foolish.

To address your third point - my source for saying there is no guarantee Boruc will even be in the team is that of the last 60 league games Begovic has started 56 of them, and was signed because Howe wanted a better keeper than Boruc (who was aging) after the 2016/17 season.

Please point out to me which part of my ''narrative'' as you call it, does not exist?

And also please explain why a clean sheet at home to West Ham (who as we discussed, have managed 1 goal away from home in their last 4) and Chelsea (who as we discussed were not pulling up any trees themselves) from a reserve goalkeeper now makes him a good blank week target?

What happens if/when he is dropped and people are left with no keeper?

People should know the risks and make a decision with eyes wide open rather than buying into some meaningless '100% home clean sheet record'' soundbite

Every trade has inherent risk injury etc. Boruc is far more nailed than you are making out and you making out like no CS vs Liverpool is a droppable offence. The reports from game and Bournemouth fans were he was one of their better players and could've been much higher score without Boruc saves

                        • 14 Years

Boruc has started 4 of the last 60 games - he's in the driving seat for now, and he may well play, and he may even keep a CS, but Bournemouth's fans don't make Bournemouth's selection decisions, he's a long way from being called nailed.

I wouldn't be getting carried away with (a) a 4.0 price tag (b) two clean sheets against what was an impotent West Ham away attack/a Chelsea side in chaos and (c) the fact that Bournemouth have Newcastle home GW31 & Burnley home GW33.

No offence, but 150 points is huge.

I know 150 points is huge. But this is his first year and he already used FH and will struggle around the BGW and DGW as he doesn't have a plan going forward so I think I have a chance. That's why I also need some differentials on the big hitters.

    Lloris
    AWB Shaw Bennett Lascelles
    Salah Son(C) jota pogba
    rashford jimenez

    subs; seproni luiz aguero richarlson

    A) save FT and replace lloris and luiz with allison and TAA
    B) luiz to perriera this week
    C) richarlson to F anderson just to captain him (this might limit my funds for future use)
    D) richarlson to fraser who has nice fixtures in blank GWs and keep captaincy with son

So as I have no WC or BB I am focusing on building up best I can for DGW 32 and 35 and trying to weather the storm on 31 and 33 with a free hit on 33.
My question is this, Salah is currently holding up major funds in my team and I don’t think he is going to be as prolific as Aguero and Kane in run in to season. Would anyone double on on sterling and Aguero over have just sterling and Salah bearing in mind the Cardiff DGW fixture for city and also I would have TAA and Mané instead of Salah?
I just have this feeling Liverpool are going to get all nervous and scrape wins and not pump teams by 3-4 goals. I have to take a risk as I am OR 60k and want to get inside 50k which is a big ask with my chip situation.
Anyone else see this angle or am I mad?

I’ve no WC, my strategy is to strengthen my bench and exchange out players such as wolves whom have a fixture swing anyhow to those with better fortunes through the blanks. Ride them out with 9 or 10 players. FH in 32 to maximise points potential in a hopefully high scoring week. And then do my best to prep for 35 in which I shall bench boost.

Good call yeah. I would go A if you do not plan to play Digne or B if you do. I think Digne is still a good option with no blanks. On some set prices can get returns any game really, potentially 🙂

This GW is taking an age to come around!

    Feels like an international break.

    Evening all.

Does Kun and Richarlison to Kane and Moutinho for free make sense... or should I be planning more for the DGW coming up?

    Rest of team is

    Etheridge
    Robertson / Doherty / AWB
    Salah / Pogba / Son/ Richarlison*
    Kun* / Firmino / Rashford

    Patricio / Bednarek / Diop / CHO

    Cheers in advance.

Still have all chips and WC left to play. I've seen a couple of strategies mentioned on here but not settled on one myself yet...

Agonising decision on my hands here lads (90 points behind ML leader so need a risk or two). Here’s my team:

    With 2 FT do I

    A) Sané > Maddison and Daniels to Pereira
    Or
    B) Sané > Maddison and Doherty/TAA to Pereira - in the knowledge that I’ll have enough itv to take son out for sterling in gw 28 for his three good fixtures? Cheers.

    Fab Button
    Doherty TAA Robbo AWB Daniels
    Salah Sané Pogba Son CHO
    Rash Jiménez Aguero

Given Newcastle and Leicester fixtures anyone considering Almirón or Tielemans as differentials ?

Probably - I need to start watching their highlights with a little more enthusiasm and checking the stats - Schar and Yedlin in the runnings also

Yes although Schar I think 2 yellows away from 2 match ban puts me off him

I've checked stats. Recent last 4/6 home etc. They nothing to write about for any of the defenders
