FFS Cup

Second FFScout Cup – Entry Now Open

Fantasy Football Scout are delighted to announce the dates of our second public Fantasy Premier League Cup competition for the 2018/19 campaign.

We are launching another open-to-all tournament with £300 in prizes on offer.

Sign-up for the open tournament can be found here.

The roll call of former cup winners looks like this: donnellyc, Jonty, Gribude, Goonerdave, Ninja_Fit_Saints, sleeping master, Mch, Wild Rover, Tdubb05 , CMIFLFC, Mark, Leon Harris, A Manager Has No Name, Sleepysi, TH14, 2EyedTurk and our reigning champion Man-Chest-Heir F.C.

As former winners, those listed will gain a bye to the first round of the tournament should they enter with the same username.

If you’re new to our cup competitions, read on for an FAQ, offering all the details.

How does the Cup work?

The FFS Cup is very similar to the Fantasy Premier League’s own Fantasy Cup game.

Entrants who qualify for the first round will be randomly drawn against each other and the winner of the tie is whoever has the highest score from that Gameweek, minus points spent on transfers (like in the original game and in head-to-head scores).

In the event of a tie, the manager highest in the overall FPL rankings after the tie will progress.

When does it start?

The qualifying round for the Fantasy Football Scout Cup will take place in Gameweek 28, with the first round proper running in Gameweek 29.

Fantasy managers can enter their teams from now right up to 18:45 GMT on Tuesday February 26, when we’ll stop entries and make the first round draws shortly after.

Previous winners must enter with the same usernames listed above to gain their bye.

How do I enter?

Enter the open-to-all FFS Cup via the entry form here.

You will be sent a confirmation email to verify your entry and you’ll be asked to confirm your FPL team ID at the point of entry – please be sure to click the link to verify that your team is correct before confirming. If you FPL team is incorrectly entered, we cannot amend this at a later date.

Your entry is only completed once you have confirmed your FPL team ID as part of the process.

To check that you’re entered correctly, please scan the list of entries.

The open-to-all FFS Cup list is here.

How do I find my FPL team ID?

Your FPL ID is your unique ID for your FPL team. This is found via your Gameweek History page – the link to which is found in the right-hand menu under your FPL team strip. When you visit your Gameweek History you will see a number in the URL (as opposed to the XXX here: https://fantasy.premierleague.com/a/entry/XXX/history)

Place this 1-7 digit number, or your Gameweek History URL, in the FPL ID field on the entry form.

When will I find out if I’ve qualified?

Results from the Fantasy Football Scout Cup qualifying round will be published shortly after February 26 and then weekly, after the completion of each Gameweek, from that point on.

What is the Gameweek Schedule?

Both these cup competitions will be played out according to the following proposed Gameweek schedule, though this could be subject to change.

Fantasy Football Scout Cup Round Dates
Qualifying – Gameweek 28

Round 1 – Gameweek 29
Round 2 – Gameweek 30
Round 3 – Gameweek 31
Round 4 – Gameweek 32
Round 5 – Gameweek 33
Round 6 – Gameweek 34
Quarter-Final – Gameweek 35
Semi-Finals – Gameweek 36
Final and third place play-off – Gameweek 37

When are the fixtures released?

Where possible, the fixture list for each round will be published a day or two before each Gameweek deadline.

The first round draw for the open-to-all cup will be made and published shortly after February 27.

Prizes

Overall Prizes
The prizes for the FFS Cup are as follows:

1st Place: £150 Amazon voucher
2nd Place: £100 Amazon voucher
3rd Place: £50 Amazon voucher

Do I have to enter if I’m a previous winner?

Yes, because your FPL team ID will have changed so we will need to record your entry again. As a previous winner, you will be given a bye to the first round proper.

Do I need to be registered with Fantasy Football Scout?

We ask you to supply a Fantasy Football Scout username so we can feature you, as a member of our community, in any articles associated with the tournament.

Ideally, you will already have a username with us, but this is not essential to enter.

You must, however, supply a username for the purpose of the tournament so you can be identified in articles.

You must not change this username throughout the course of the tournament. Should you do so without permission, should you enter multiple teams, or if your FFS account comes under moderation for any reason, we reserve the right to remove you from a tournament at any stage.

If you have two free transfers when you play the FH do you have 2 transfers the week after the FH, or is it like the WC and resets back to one transfer?

        Strategy 3 might work.

Build for 32 impacts 33. FH 31 gives you full team in a poor fixture week and then don't have those players for 33. Don't understand why people think FH31 good. Maybe because I have Sterling and Aguero

          1. Piggs Boson
            • 12 Years
            5 years, 1 month ago

I'm just suggesting it because he only has 7 players for 31. It's just damage limitation at this stage.

Personally, I'll be using the FH GW32, as I can field 11 in 31 without hits.

            • 12 Years
            5 years, 1 month ago

Yep, it's not perfect, but it's probably the best route in his case.

Don't forget that we can put 4 of our DGWers on the bench, so if you build for DGW32 correctly, you can get 5 DGWers and 11 in BGW33 without a hit.

Dilemma. Need to move on two non playing players to get a decent team out but want Auba for captaincy as I don’t want to back Pogba or Salah. Would prefer to keep Aguerro rather than hokey pokey. Any help appreciated.

    A) Sterling & Rich -> Son & Anderson. Means I have to captain Pogba Salah, Son or Anderson this week which doesn’t sound great
    B) Sterling Jiménez -> Maddison & Auba (c) means I have to play Gunnarson to get a team out
    C) Sterling Rich Jiménez -> Anderson Jota Auba (c) -4
    D) Sterling Luiz Jiménez -> Anderson Pereira Auba (c) -4

            64 vs 72 = 8pts
            Maths fail. Still only 8pts

Planning to FH week 32, WC week 34 and BB in 36. Best move here on that basis

A Gtg and carry free transfer or
B Bednarek to Lascelles and play over AWB or
C Rashford to Rondón and Gunnarsson to Anderson for -4

    Boruc
    Doherty AWB Van Dijk Kolasinac
    Salah Pogba Son
    Aubameyang (c) Rashford Jimenez

    Steele Gunnarsson Bednarek Hazard

Just read "chip strategy" article, the 3 strategies are all different from mine posted last night, maybe highlights mine isn't any good, here it is:
WC GW30 planning for DGW 32/35, allowing me to use BB/TC in each DGW, use FH for 31, take a hit or 2 for 33 if needed. How's that sound?

Sounds like strategy 3 with the WC pushed forward.

Could work, if DGW35 contains the teams you bench BGW33. Otherwise you could be light in that DGW.

I am close to that too. I like earlier WC, however have 3 perfect Liverpool already
Waiting more info about doubles and gw 33 blank and re-evaluate

looks decent...hopefully the DGW32 schedule will be confirmed before GW30.

I'm playing BB and TC as well in the DGW's, so my strategy is also different than the ones in the article

I like to play my WC right before BB in DGW so has to be 34

I quite like this strategy. I'm thinking of similar - obviously 33 is the problem GW. My team is already set up for 32/35, so considering WC week 33 to pick a team for 35 that can get through 33 kinda okay. Ps Like your name. From 'Batchain'.

Keep wolves and palace just a few more weeks. Wolves ok fixtures 27,28,29 and palace good fix 30.

Pretty sure you can part with Bednarek, unless you think he'll boss it away at Arsenal 😆

Oof, currently only have 2 GW31 players including Digne who I was gonna get rid of, should I keep him and start switching others? Keeping would mean Bednarek plays this week, I also have Doherty and Jota flagged, wish I never bothered looking now.

Very similar situation to me above, thinking of still selling the Everton defender as they are shocking and likely to only get 1 point v Chelsea 31 anyway.

Yeah, I was gonna reply to you but no idea what I'd do. I suppose Bed should score the least points this week of those with games but holding Everton is painful.
