How Mané can help FPL managers prepare for Blank Gameweek 31

Sadio Mané (£9.6m) is once again matching Mohamed Salah (£13.6m) and making a strong case for inclusion in our Fantasy Premier League squads.

The Senegalese international has scored five goals in the last seven Gameweeks, the exact same number as his Egyptian colleague.

We’ve had a look at the data to see if Mané is capable of sustaining his form and what role he has to play in FPL in the coming weeks.

Fantasy Football Scout members can read on and have a look at our analysis…

Already used my second WC and still have all 3 Chips
So For GW 31 AND 33 which is perfect plan
A - BGW31: Build with FTs and use FH for DGW
B- use FH for BGW 31 OR 33

SORRY!!! Meant to say A, that's A! 100 per cent, For sure, definitely. I'm in the same position as you and looking to use Free Hit in DGW. Given likely fixtures I'm planning to FH in 32.

Will we have news on Doherty before deadline?
If he's out for Sat, he could easily be out for the Huddersfield game on Tuesday also. Would much prefer to sell Shaw first so hoping he's ok!

Currently own Auba. Will transfer him out in GW29 for either Aguero or Higuain. If I go for Kun I will have to use an extra transfer to get Higuain for GW31 so it basically comes down to this:

    A) Aguero (bou, WAT) -4
    B) Higuain (ful, WOL)

I don't see Higuain matching Aguero over those two fixtures even with the 4 point headstart. Don't have any City cover.

Phrase used on Scoutcast - a huge proportion of managers are preparing their team for the blanks (with FH32) and will be wildcarding after that....hence prepping their team to a dead end. Will make teams very similar and chat on here very boring going forward I feel.

            it does feel that way

any differentials out there you're eyeing up? or are you FH'ing in 31?

with no wildcard, the best strategy seems to be the popular (FH32) but will be keeping Sterling, Pogba, Son and possible getting Aguero in. Will likely just field 8 for the blanks and hope that my team is strong than many GW27-31.
My team is already pretty differential: Triple Spurs + Rondon 😉

      Nope. Confused myself.

i think he means get players for 31 and have a decent bench for the following doubles. doesnt seem a good approach to me

He sort can get away with it.
3 Pool 3 Chelsea 1 Leicester and the DGW benchers he has GW31 he can carry over.
        Depends on DGW's coming up

    2. SADIO SANÉ
      • 8 Years
      5 years, 1 month ago

WIldcarding in a blank gameweek may seem counterintuitive - but if you use your bench boost in DGW32, your bench is now free to be filled with players who will play in GW33. #FPL

think the last bit should say 'GW35'?

      1. SADIO SANÉ
        • 8 Years
        5 years, 1 month ago

so your GW33 team has 4 GW35 DGWers on the bench (plus 3 Liverpool who have Cardiff) small chance a team like Chelsea play in GW33 and then DGW in 35.

It actually seems like a pretty good idea unless I'm getting confused

Hi Mods, I have a Members Area Request - not sure on best place for it:

On the Player Stats section, it would be great if the "Compare Players Selected" button stayed selected as you move between the 'Stats' buttons at the top. For example, if I select Burnley defenders to compare, when I switch from "Goal Threat" to "KPI Attacking", the player list resets so I have to go and select the Burnley players again - there's about 13 different stat buttons to compare so it gets a bit tiresome having to keep selecting the Burnley players each time you switch through them. (Admittedly, first world problems...)

Omg. Please improve this. Once you have selected players to compare it is so frustrating having to reselect them for each bit of data.

Also, is it possible to select players from Mid/fwd? If I wanted to compare the goal threat of Pogba vs Rashford for example.

True. But this means investing in Sterling for three tasty fixtures (WHU, bou, WAT) as opposed to Son (che, ARS, sou). So potentially a little more than a one week hokey cokey. On paper anyway!..

If you're building a team for DGW32, you're not going to have many playing in BGW33. All the teams who double are likely going to blank in 33, but that depends on FA Cup results.

Looks fine but as above we need confirmation.
Also it's the minimize losses in GW 33 that I don't like and why so many are going FH 32 while building a team to deal with both blank weeks but you have the advantage of BB and TC use in dgws but I still prefer FH32

just seen a post about WC33 and TC35, if you WC in 4-6 SGW players in Liverpool/Bournemouth (who have nice GW33/35 fixtures) you can get a pretty good team out in 33 and 35 (probably better for using TC in 35 with that strategy though)

It's now just a WC team value it's what you can get for FH too so seems insane to give it up before then for a player that you really only need for 1 week and could blank.

      Why FH 31?

You already have the core of the FH 31 team or are bringing them in.

33 could be really dangerous o. Your plan. IMO there’s likely to be a much bigger spread of points there than in 31 where the ceiling is probably low and most will have the same players.

Your WC in 32 is likely to leave you really short in 33.

        Very much this.
With your current team easy to get 8-9 out for 31 which will be much better than most so planned FH in 31seems a waste of a chip

You have a whole bunch of FTs between now and 31, use them to bring players in who play in 31. It's not complicated!

for you, my goal to be able to change players to get the most out of GW31?
I thought that my goal was to improve the team and make every day high scores.

    Who's position does Almiron take?

I think I read somewhere it'll be Atsu who loses his place.

Perez and Atsu are the advanced midfielders in Benitez's 4-5-1. Unless he drops a CB, you'd expect one of them to make way.

When will we get confirmation on the re-arranged fixtures?

Could be as early as Friday (including some with caveats possibly). Could be as late as after the FA Cup quarter finals.

Just some thoughts, but might benefit others in the same position as me.

Number of players that have a fixture in GW31: 2
    Total FT's between now (GW27) and GW31: 6
    Potential GW31 players without a hit: 8

Despite looking badly prepared for GW31, I still think the FH in GW32 may be better served, with BB saved for GW35. Perhaps my main reason, is the TOT - LIV fixtures in DGW32.

Many are likely to go into that DGW32 with triple Liverpool. Could be an excellent opportunity to use the FH and go without Liverpool altogether, knowing you get them back for the run-in (sou, CHE, car, HUD, new, WOL). Cardiff in DGW35 is a much more agreeable BB scenario.

Can you define what you mean by TOT-LIV dgw 32 fixtures?

In GW32, Tottenham play Liverpool. This gameweek is likely to have many fixtures postponed from GW31 and re-arranged to GW32 creating a big double gameweek. However, Liverpool play just the one match which is potentially a tricky one vs Spurs.

For those planning to FH 31 triple Pool is not a must though. Easy to bench Alisson and/or one def. And Salah > Mane before allows ditching the latter with 1 ft.

I now have 4 players (but that includes Rich and Digne) but I'm now interested in this idea:

      https://twitter.com/fpl_hana/status/1098009900616216576?s=21

I've always favoured the idea of brining in DGW32 players rather than GW31 ones and using FH31 - with this approach you'd use BB32, WC33, TC35

this approach pretty much relies on most of the 31 blanks being doubles in 32, so we'll see, but could be nice

Thanks for this, Sadio. I'm exploring the possibility of maximising the potential of the FH chip, and if you wanted to take a risk then you could lose your Liverpool players in DGW32.

I also don't have my WC left, but FH31 is definitely still on the table.

    Hi guys,

I haven't used any of my chips yet.

What is the best weeks to play them ?

    I have 2 man u players, 2 liverpool, 2 man city, 2 wolves, 2 everton, 1 chelsea, 1 crystal palace.

    Thanks.

You seem short of 3 players? They may be bench fodder, but there'll be really important to assist you navigating the blank weeks rather than selling DGW assets.

How many likely starters do you have for BGW31, and how many FT's do you have this week?

€50 and I’ll draw up a plan for yoh

With 5 playing on gw31 you can use next 5 transfers to get 10 out, maybe take a -4 too to have 11. Will also sort you out for gw31. Then can FH in 32 to maximise double Gameweek players. Wildcard in 34, BB in 35. TC in last 3 games or keep an eye out for a Chelsea DGW.

That's basically the typical approach at present for a lot of people I think

People who are FH in 32 and navigating 31 and 33 -

How many players should we aim for as a minimum in 31 and how many hits are you looking at?

I have only 5 players and the hits will mount up quite heftily if I want a full 11. Might try and make do with 9 or 10.

As many as you can without taking hits - providing you are happy to lose all the players you are taking out.

Really need to get my Chip Strategy in place.

But in the immediate GW plane... 2 questions.
    Which 1 to bench??

    1. Pereira (H v CRY)
    2. Doherty (A v Bou) *flagged pending presser
    3. Robbo (a v MUN)

Also.. considering a -4 hit for Richarlison > Anderson this GW. I have exact cash.
Worth the hit? Decent fixtures (aside from City)

A lot of good managers seem to be dead ending 31.
That is build up for GW31, WC 32, FH 33

What I don't understand with this strategy is, most good teams blanking in 31 will blank again in 33.
Why FH 33 when you already have GW31 players playing for you in 33?

Wildcard is to have a good team for DGW 32 and GW34 onwards - Free hit will get you through GW33.
