What latest Double Gameweek announcements mean for our FPL squads

Both of Manchester United’s Double Gameweeks have been confirmed after details of their rearranged games were revealed on Friday afternoon.

The Red Devils were waiting on new dates for the Blank Gameweek 31 visit of Manchester City to Old Trafford and the Blank Gameweek 33 trip to Wolves.

The first of those has been pushed right back into Double Gameweek 35 and will be played on Wednesday, April 24.

The second of those, the trip to Molineux, has been brought forward into Double Gameweek 32, to be played on Tuesday, April 2.

That means we now know the schedule for the remainder of Manchester United’s season.

Their Double Gameweeks will look like this:

Double Gameweek 32: Watford (home) + Wolves (away)
Double Gameweek 35: Everton (away) + Manchester City (home)

The first of those looks more appealing than the second, with Paul Pogba (£8.8m) and Marcus Rashford (£7.8m) looking almost essential for Double Gameweek 32, possibly even Triple Captain candidates.

For now, we only have one set of Double Gameweek fixtures for Manchester City which looks like this:

Double Gameweek 35: Tottenham (home) + Manchester United (away)

If Manchester City win their FA Cup quarter-final against Swansea, that will add a Gameweek 33 home match against Cardiff to their list of psotponed fixtures.

With Double Gameweek 35 now already taken for them, it could mean we have an opportunity to pig out on their assets in Double Gameweek 32 with Fulham (away) and Cardiff (home) the potential cannon fodder.

As for Wolves, their Double Gameweek 32 looks like this:

Double Gameweek 32: Burnley (away) + Manchester United (home)

Currently outstanding for Wolves is their postponed Gameweek 31 meeting with Arsenal.

With Double Gameweek 32 now taken up for them, it is probable that this will move to Double Gameweek 35. If that were to happen, then they would have a nice looking set of doubles that week of Brighton (home) and Arsenal (home).

The Premier League have confirmed that there will be no more Double Gameweek announcements until after the FA Cup quarter-final matches on March 16 and 17, which coincide with Blank Gameweek 31.

Does this DGW announcement for Man Utd change anything regarding benchmark chip strategies?

imo the big change is maybe preparing 32 for a city tc

imo, it makes it even more important to FH in 32. Man City and Man utd both unbelievable fixtures. Triple captain is no where near as powerful as the free hit.

Only 10 players this week after the press conferences today,

Should I take a -4 on either of these moves, given that I'm building a team for 31, with a FH32.

    A. Wilson to Arnie
    B. Wan Bissaka to Periera

the most popular chip strategy is

    FH32
    WC34
    BB35

can someone explain the pros and cons of this vs

    WC32
    FH33
    BB35

Easier to get the most out of a bench boost when you wildcard the week before

No cons really. WC in 34 just allows more information regarding injuries/suspension/form

Alot can happen injury wise between WC32 and BB35, you might spend more hits. I'm personally doing WC34,BB35

First strategy has fewer GWs between WC and BB meaning you're less likely to have injuries wrecking your chance of getting 16 players out for your BB.

Second strategy leads to a stronger GW33 team.

Biggest con in my case is means have to play TC in a single game week.

how a player with one game look better than a plethora of options with two games to use tc?

A number of factors - including Liverpool needing goals & goal difference if still neck & neck with city, plus Huddersfield already being relegated

Wildcarding in 32 seems very risky - with so many games in so many competitions, what looked like a good WC team in 32 could be disastrous by the time it actually comes around to them playing in 35

i think its more information vs better GW33 team.

first strategy involves planning for 31 and 33
second strategy involves planning for only 31

Kiko seems to get injured a lot and awb is highly owned and pretty nailed, arguably plays in a better defence as well.

      Apples and oranges.

TC is a fixed amount that generally doesn’t affect your squad choices before after.

BB could score you 40 points but you might have sacrificed points before and after the GW you use it. So hard to calculate.
