What latest Double Gameweek announcements mean for our FPL squads

Both of Manchester United’s Double Gameweeks have been confirmed after details of their rearranged games were revealed on Friday afternoon.

The Red Devils were waiting on new dates for the Blank Gameweek 31 visit of Manchester City to Old Trafford and the Blank Gameweek 33 trip to Wolves.

The first of those has been pushed right back into Double Gameweek 35 and will be played on Wednesday, April 24.

The second of those, the trip to Molineux, has been brought forward into Double Gameweek 32, to be played on Tuesday, April 2.

That means we now know the schedule for the remainder of Manchester United’s season.

Their Double Gameweeks will look like this:

Double Gameweek 32: Watford (home) + Wolves (away)
Double Gameweek 35: Everton (away) + Manchester City (home)

The first of those looks more appealing than the second, with Paul Pogba (£8.8m) and Marcus Rashford (£7.8m) looking almost essential for Double Gameweek 32, possibly even Triple Captain candidates.

For now, we only have one set of Double Gameweek fixtures for Manchester City which looks like this:

Double Gameweek 35: Tottenham (home) + Manchester United (away)

If Manchester City win their FA Cup quarter-final against Swansea, that will add a Gameweek 33 home match against Cardiff to their list of psotponed fixtures.

With Double Gameweek 35 now already taken for them, it could mean we have an opportunity to pig out on their assets in Double Gameweek 32 with Fulham (away) and Cardiff (home) the potential cannon fodder.

As for Wolves, their Double Gameweek 32 looks like this:

Double Gameweek 32: Burnley (away) + Manchester United (home)

Currently outstanding for Wolves is their postponed Gameweek 31 meeting with Arsenal.

With Double Gameweek 32 now taken up for them, it is probable that this will move to Double Gameweek 35. If that were to happen, then they would have a nice looking set of doubles that week of Brighton (home) and Arsenal (home).

The Premier League have confirmed that there will be no more Double Gameweek announcements until after the FA Cup quarter-final matches on March 16 and 17, which coincide with Blank Gameweek 31.

hi all, fairly new to all this and have noticed when I checked teams around top of scout league my team is worth 2 to 3 million less on average. This tells me I clearly have not been alert to price changes as shown above. With this in mind what will happen with awb now injured, he is worth 4.6 but only 4.3 on my teamsheet. so if he goes down to 4.5 does that mean he drops to 4.2 for me or will my price of 4.3 hold till hiss sell price is the same. Hope that makes sense, thanks for any advice

Have 2FT, but struggling to see an obvious way to use one assuming no injuries. Any thoughts?

    Heaton
    Robertson - Doherty - TAA
    Salah - Sterling - Son - Pogba
    Rashford - Jimenez - Mitrovic

    Fabianski - Jonny - Bednarek - Deulofeu

Have considered it, but I'm a bit reluctant since he plays in GW31. May just bite the bullet anyway though.

They do seem like the most logical people to take out. Mitro looks the obvious choice but he plays in GW31 and Jonny has looked dangerous recently but I will have to start filtering out Wolves players sooner or later. Thanks for the response 🙂

He plays 31 vs Liverpool. Who would you rather sell?

Could sell Jonny instead, for instance. Selling Mitro now would mean an extra hit down the line if I want to field XI in 31. Food for thought, I guess

Do you expect any Mitro points for 28-31?

I expect he'll get something. I always have the option to bench him also, since I don't have any fodder. Will probably see how Barnes looks tomorrow and then reassess.

Yeah. Perhaps the big players will play 90+ mins on Sunday, with Sane having more of a bit part. That would be preferable, so then that leaves Son and the defenders. I guess I'll keep an eye on him and Chelsea, but who knows which Chelsea's going to turn up on the day... Cheers

          Agreed.
          But I'd definitely play Son.
          He's Poch's saviour.
Sane has been benched too many times now to trust him imo.

Just after some advice please. 2ft's & 2.0itb. Current team:

    Patricio, Fabianski
    Robertson, Kolasinac, Shaw, Doherty, AWB
    Salah, Sterling, Pogba, Son, Anderson
    Rashford, Jimenez, Ings

Do you like this for a -4 hit:
Salah, Anderson, Ings out - Mane, H. Barnes, Aguero in
    Leaves 1.2itb.
    Cheers.

Which chip strategy would you go with here?

    A) use FT to prepare for 31, FH32, WC34, BB35, TC36
+ My team is well set up for this, i.e. I can get 10 out in 31 for no hits
+ No risk for 32DGW given FH as can pick best options just before
    - Likely means no MCY/TOT/MUN for 28-30
    - Means playing TC/BB in a non DGW

    B) WC29 (prep for DGWs), FH31, BB32, TC35.
+ Can load up on MCY, CHE, MUN, TOT in prep for the DGWs
+ BB and TC played in DGWs
    - Risk of injuries between 29 and 32
    - Unknown for certain which games will be in which DGW

    Fabs, Steele
    Kola, Doherty, Pereira, TAA, Holebas
    Salah, Son, Siggy, FAnderson, Camarasa
    Auba, Rashford, Ings
    Bank 2.5m

Is Tarkowski worth considering as AWB replacement? I can't afford Pereira and saving my third Liverpool spot for Mane. Or should I change plans and bring in TAA to partner Robertson. I've not seen him mentioned but he plays in both the blanks and Burnley have improved a little over the past few games.

Surely Chilwell is the one to go for if Pereira was your first choice but you were priced out? TAA is a great option too unless you might want an extra Liverpool attacker. I’d keep the choice between those two, but yeah, see how this weekend goes (even though Chilwell may not play).

Can't deny the role of skill as well. Jay Egersdorff consistently gets good ranks by following his own unique thought process and strategies, so there is a role that skill plays.

It's something like 80% luck and 20% skill.

it's not particularly scientific but i believe there are many who have yo-yo seasons or a 1-off. i suspect we just rarely hear from them since they're more casual.

Yeah, I’m loathed to lose Siggy before CAR also. You keeping Son for che/ARE?

FAnderson is probably the one that should go, but his fixtures in 29-31 are too good to get rid

Yes Son has been immense, his breaking speed and finishing means he could score against anyone.

I don't have Fanderson to be fair and watching the game tonight Snodgrass seemed more dangerous taking all the corners so could change him.

      wouldn't do it myself.

But when TAA doesn't play, Pool's defence becomes frazzled, so Robertson isn't really that useful.

Not that bad a move imho.
