Blank Gameweek 33 picture complete as Spurs reveal Double Gameweek fixtures

Brighton and Hove Albion’s success in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup means that we now finally know how many teams will blank in Gameweek 33.

The Seagulls came back from two goals down against Millwall on Sunday to force extra-time and penalties, running out 5-4 winners in the subsequent shootout.

With the FA Cup semi-finals taking place on the same weekend as Gameweek 33, eight sides will be without a Premier League fixture that weekend: Brighton, Manchester City, Wolves, Watford, Spurs, Cardiff, Manchester United and Fulham.

The six remaining fixtures that will take place are:

The article that went out yesterday evening goes into more detail as to the ramifications of the other three quarter-finals.

As for Brighton, they had three top-flight fixtures that needed rescheduling as a result of clashes with the two domestic cups: Chelsea (a), Cardiff (h) and Spurs (a).

One of those matches has already been rearranged.

Spurs announced after full-time at the Den that they will entertain Brighton in Double Gameweek 35 and Crystal Palace in Double Gameweek 32.

The fact that Chelsea are still in European competition means that the Seagulls’ outstanding meeting with the Blues could very well be rescheduled for Double Gameweek 32 (there are no Europa League ties in that free midweek).

Albion’s home match against Cardiff would appear likely, then, to fall into a separate Double Gameweek later in the season.

We will likely get confirmation of this in the next few days.

Spurs’ rather mixed Double Gameweek schedule looks like this:

Palace’s Double Gameweek 32 is as follows:

    So if as expected Brighton v Cardiff is the only postponed PL fixture played outside of DGW32 and DGW35, the additional fixtures will be

So it would be possible to field 11 DGW'ers in DGW32 (including 3 Chelsea and 3 Palace), and field a full 11 in BGW33 using just an FT, no hits (3 Chelsea and 3 Palace players, four players benched in DGW32, plus the FT).

    Bottomed...

    Okay so I'm no where near as on the ball as I usually am. However I did build a team for this week (which is also looking decent for 33). I have WC, TC, FH and BB left to play. So what's the general consensus for those that have everything left?

    I'm thinking FH next week, WC 34, BB 35 and TC ?? Any advice greatly received.

      That's the way most will be going, with TC on Salah or Mane v HUD in GW36 or a Brighton DGW player.

      I'm leaning away from the general consensus and thinking about taking an 8 point hit that will give me 7 DGW (3 City) players and be able to use TC chip on Aguero or Sterling which could me huge with those fixtures.
      Then possibly FH in 33. WC in 34 to set up for DGW 35 in which I could BB.
      It all comes down to whether you think 11 DGW players will outscore 7 with a potentially huge TC haul!

        Not really. I'm happy to play Leno for the rest of the season, if Arsenal show to be super leaky again I can switch Boruc in where I feel important. Unless I go for option A I don't really have the funds either to pick up Kepa/Ederson (but then I'd have to lose Laporte).
