Confirmations for remaining FPL Double Gameweeks

The Premier League have announced the full line-up of fixtures for all the remaining Double Gameweeks of the 2018/19 season.

They have confirmed that Gameweeks 32, 34 and 35 will all feature an expanded number of matches.

Manchester City’s are the pick of the bunch as they are set for a Double of Fulham (away) and Cardiff (H) in Gameweek 32.

Meanwhile, Brighton will have three Double Gameweeks between now and the end of the season.

We have listed all the additional fixtures below and will give our initial thoughts on the programme, which we will update throughout the afternoon.

DOUBLE GAMEWEEK 32

INITIAL THOUGHTS

As had already been suggested by Pep Guardiola, Manchester City have been handed an appealing Double Gameweek in Gameweek 32.

They will face Fulham and Cardiff and present Fantasy managers with the chance to capitalise on a glut of attacking returns.

A triple-up on Manchester City options will surely be a popular strategy for anyone playing the Free Hit in Gameweek 32.

Sergio Aguero (£11.8m) and Raheem Sterling (£11.6m) are likely to take up the first two spots, but who takes the third? We’ll be looking at that in the coming days.

Chelsea have also been handed some positive fixtures for the next round of action.

They will travel to face Cardiff before hosting a travel sick Brighton side to Stamford in the following midweek.

That will further the case for Gonzalo Higuaín (£9.6m) and Eden Hazard (£10.9m) in Free Hit squads.

Those looking for budget options in Gameweek 35 could turn to Watford as their Double Gameweek 35 looks very promising indeed.

The Hornets travel to Huddersfield first, before hosting Southampton midweek.

Troy Deeney (£5.9m) and Gerard Deulofeu (£5.6m) will arguably be the most popular players to look at although with the FA Cup semi-finals looming large, Javi Gracia may shift his focus there.

A NEW CHIP STRATEGY?

Until today, we thought we knew what the optimum chip strategies would be for Fantasy managers.

However, a Double Gameweek for Brighton in Gameweek 34 does open up a new chip strategy for some looking for a different approach.

They will host Bournemouth and Cardiff in Gameweek 34 in what looks like a hugely appealing set of fixtures.

Both the Cherries and Bluebirds have been poor away from home this season and the Seagulls themselves will be fighting for their own Premier League survival.

Gameweek 34 had been pencilled in as the best time to play a second Wildcard ahead of deploying the Bench Boost in Double Gameweek 35.

However, this confirmation of a hugely appealing Double for Brighton the week before could allow those who have already used their second Wildcard to use their Triple Captain chip instead.

It would be a hugely differential move to do so but Mat Ryan (£4.4m), Shane Duffy (£4.7m) and Glenn Murray (£6.3m) all stand the chance of securing double-figure hauls in Double Gameweek 34.

This strategy might not even be open to those without their second Wildcard.

Anyone who has not played the Free Hit on Gameweek 32 might be tempted to play the Wildcard instead, use the Free Hit in Blank Gameweek 33 so that they can use the Triple Captain chip on a Brighton player.

Otherwise, the Triple Captain chip will still have to be used in a single Gameweek, with Liverpool at home to Huddersfield in Gameweek 36, Manchester United at trip to the Terriers in Gameweek 37 or Cardiff’s visit to Old Trafford on the final day of the season the favourite options at this point.

Also, those who have already played their Free Hit chips, and are unable to do so in Double Gameweek 32, might want to consider the Triple Captain chip then.

Manchester City’s double of Fulham and Cardiff makes one of either Aguero or Sterling an excellent option for that chip if it looks like they’ll play a significant part in both matches.

    Sterling
    Aguero
    Hazard
    Jimenez
    Pogba
    Rashford

Personally leaning towards Sterling over Aguero - you would think i learn my lesson after TC Sane in the fabled DGW :).

Sterling no brainer for me. A couple of folks will activate their TC on City assets and I've got no time to be pondering about who. Straight up Sterling for me to reduce any damage + Sterling is actually the best option imo

Aguero. Jesus plays internationals as does Sterling.

I'm guessing at least 150 mins for Aguero - more than enough for a bloodbath with Fulham and Cardiff.

Sterling plays both internationals I reckon, rotation central with Bilva/Sane options against such weak teams.

        32WC
        33FH
        34BB
        35TC

        WC would be something like

        Ryan (Guaita)
        Laporte TAA Doherty Dunk WB
        Sterling Hazard Pogba Mane (March)
        Aguero Jimenez (Niasse)

        32 11xdgw players
33 FH (good chance to get in Arsenal players who didn't have a blank 31 so don't own any)
        34 BB
        35 TC Jimenez? (BRI, ARS)

I don't see much wrong with it, although I'd personally invest in a rather large sofa as most will have one of Rashford/Lukaku and even Kane as well as United defender and Chelsea defender on their FH.

Definitely a viable strategy, especially if you aren't set up well for GW33, FH32 has the higher points ceiling though.

I think the best BB is to play on GW35 as we get more fixtures to choose from. TC34 Murray or just wait after FA Cup semi and UCL semi to finish. TC36 (Liv) or TC38 (MU)

        What do people think of:

        Kepa (Hamer)

Luiz / Schlupp / Doherty (Connolly) (Simpson)

        Sterling / Hazard / B Silva / Deulofeu (Camarasa)

        Aguero / Kane / Rashford

Missing Pogba with this and unsure about Deulofeu...
I think it looks pretty tasty otherwise?

        Based on recent news, my chip strategy will be going like this;

        FH32
        WC33
        TC34 - Probably Murray
        BB35

        or

        FH32
        WC34
        BB35
        TC36 (Liv) or TC38 (MU)

What are you guys thought on this? Which one to choose?

Can you afford Rudiger by selling Doherty+AWB and getting a 3.8? otherwise looks good to me.

Here we go, we are into the best part of the season! FH32 planning starts now.

Are people pushing the button on the free hit now or waiting until nearer the deadline? Can somebody tell me the pros and cons of doing it now or later, please?

Already did it, just to commit to it because I'm such a fence sitter. You have to be wary of price movement somewhat to maximise your possible spend, but it's not too big a deal.

If you have free hit, just use it now as you wont get hits when to do chop and change later. Be aware of price arise. So get your core players as early as possible

the only pro of doing it later is that you canchange your mind....cons - price changes of the players you want

Surely you can make transfers and then click the button on FH or WC later?

If you have both FH and WC available, why not wait to see which to play?

Start making transfers either way to catch price rises and then decide later which route to take.

you can do that with a FH ...but i'm not 100% you can with a WC i.e. i am not sure it will remove all the hits.

FH this week is a no brainer for me. WC 34 to get in 3 brighton players and a good DGW 35 team...and the BB in GW 35

I'm on Ederson. Easy fixtures and confirm starter. But average point for this gameweek for him is only 12 pts. You probably select aguero and sterling. So, if you think Sane or Silva can outscore Ederson, then just choose other keeper. Maybe CP or Brighton. Cheaper.

Ryan isn’t a bad shout. He’s cheap after all.

If you want United Chelsea or City defence then why not pick someone who can get an attacking return and avoid the goalie.

Now that we know the fixtures for GW32 and beyond what's the consensus on formation as double playing defenders with clean sheets could be massive.
        4-4-2
        4-3-3
        3-5-2 or even
        5-4-1

I'm wary of DGW's as they don't always work as planned with many players being rotated and only playing once, especially the big clubs fighting on all fronts.

        1. sunzip14

I might go with 4-4-2 with Aguero+Kane up top and Luiz, Rudiger, Lindelof and Schlupp/Duffy.

clean sheet is not easy to get for DGW. Just go with 3 at the back. City fixtures look plums, but there will be rotation on cardiff game
