Confirmations for remaining FPL Double Gameweeks

The Premier League have announced the full line-up of fixtures for all the remaining Double Gameweeks of the 2018/19 season.

They have confirmed that Gameweeks 32, 34 and 35 will all feature an expanded number of matches.

Manchester City’s are the pick of the bunch as they are set for a Double of Fulham (away) and Cardiff (H) in Gameweek 32.

Meanwhile, Brighton will have three Double Gameweeks between now and the end of the season.

We have listed all the additional fixtures below and will give our initial thoughts on the programme, which we will update throughout the afternoon.

DOUBLE GAMEWEEK 32

Watford: Huddersfield (A) + Southampton (H)

Wolves: Brighton (H) + Arsenal (H)

INITIAL THOUGHTS

As had already been suggested by Pep Guardiola, Manchester City have been handed an appealing Double Gameweek in Gameweek 32.

They will face Fulham and Cardiff and present Fantasy managers with the chance to capitalise on a glut of attacking returns.

A triple-up on Manchester City options will surely be a popular strategy for anyone playing the Free Hit in Gameweek 32.

Sergio Aguero (£11.8m) and Raheem Sterling (£11.6m) are likely to take up the first two spots, but who takes the third? We’ll be looking at that in the coming days.

Chelsea have also been handed some positive fixtures for the next round of action.

They will travel to face Cardiff before hosting a travel sick Brighton side to Stamford in the following midweek.

That will further the case for Gonzalo Higuaín (£9.6m) and Eden Hazard (£10.9m) in Free Hit squads.

Those looking for budget options in Gameweek 35 could turn to Watford as their Double Gameweek 35 looks very promising indeed.

The Hornets travel to Huddersfield first, before hosting Southampton midweek.

Troy Deeney (£5.9m) and Gerard Deulofeu (£5.6m) will arguably be the most popular players to look at although with the FA Cup semi-finals looming large, Javi Gracia may shift his focus there.

A NEW CHIP STRATEGY?

Until today, we thought we knew what the optimum chip strategies would be for Fantasy managers.

However, a Double Gameweek for Brighton in Gameweek 34 does open up a new chip strategy for some looking for a different approach.

They will host Bournemouth and Cardiff in Gameweek 34 in what looks like a hugely appealing set of fixtures.

Both the Cherries and Bluebirds have been poor away from home this season and the Seagulls themselves will be fighting for their own Premier League survival.

Gameweek 34 had been pencilled in as the best time to play a second Wildcard ahead of deploying the Bench Boost in Double Gameweek 35.

However, this confirmation of a hugely appealing Double for Brighton the week before could allow those who have already used their second Wildcard to use their Triple Captain chip instead.

It would be a hugely differential move to do so but Mat Ryan (£4.4m), Shane Duffy (£4.7m) and Glenn Murray (£6.3m) all stand the chance of securing double-figure hauls in Double Gameweek 34.

This strategy might not even be open to those without their second Wildcard.

Anyone who has not played the Free Hit on Gameweek 32 might be tempted to play the Wildcard instead, use the Free Hit in Blank Gameweek 33 so that they can use the Triple Captain chip on a Brighton player.

Otherwise, the Triple Captain chip will still have to be used in a single Gameweek, with Liverpool at home to Huddersfield in Gameweek 36, Manchester United at trip to the Terriers in Gameweek 37 or Cardiff’s visit to Old Trafford on the final day of the season the favourite options at this point.

Also, those who have already played their Free Hit chips, and are unable to do so in Double Gameweek 32, might want to consider the Triple Captain chip then.

Manchester City’s double of Fulham and Cardiff makes one of either Aguero or Sterling an excellent option for that chip if it looks like they’ll play a significant part in both matches.

Yep absolutely, on paper I'd much prefer the DGW prospects of triple City, United and Chelsea plus a few others

Murphy's law however dictates that this will be the week the Liverpool guys haul - in particular Salah

But Murphy's law possibly isn't the best basis for team selection so will take it on the chin if/when it happens 🙂

for those like me withour fh & wc, makes sense to get chelsea and palace players, right?
    2 questions
    1. is batshuayi worth a punt? difficult to stretch to zaha who is also doubtful
2, which is the best palace defender to get (4.5 max)- schlupp, awb, is dann or tomkins worth a punt as they can score from set pieces?

Schlupp has been very attacking of late, something like a goal and 3 assists in the last 5 games. Whether he plays both games is a different matter.

thinking of batshuayi for FH32 rather than Jimenez. But Zaha is more explosive and can lock spurs defends. Jiminez might be rotated for FA Cup. He also plays for Mexico right?

      Schlupp is the one

Gracia rested the majority of his 1st team players, vs City, a week before the FAC QF.

They play United on the Saturday, Fulham only 3 days later and then the SF 5 days after.

I might be overthinking but that screams rotation vs Fulham to me. I want to like Deulofeu & Deeney as options, but they may have to wait till DGW35.

Watford-Fulham is on 2/4 & their fa cup match is on 7/4 so 5 days to rest player's.

Considering Zaha is currently injured (hamstring), he will definitely get rested in at least one of those games

Townsend will play every game until Palace hits 40 points. He’s probably been the player of the season if you factor out AWB.

Zaha? He won’t get rotated if fit - he just doesn’t.

I’d be careful with Schlupp - there’ll be rotation in central midfield - we have options there.

                  Injuries aside I’d suggest these

                  Mili
                  PvA
                  AWB
                  Tomkins
                  Zaha (but injury risk)
                  Townsend (minor risk)
                  Bat (but Benteke off bench)

                  Guaita but....

There two central mid places for Schlupp McArthur Kouyate and Meyer. Mili is irreplaceable more or less.

Given 3 games in a week or so I’d assume some rotation especially given central mids work very hard under Roy. I wouldn’t put Schlupp any higher than probable. The one wrinkle is if Zaha is out and then he becomes a cert.

Mili, AWB, Tomkins, PVA are almost certain locks. Schlupp very likely as well as he's recently locked down his spot.

I'd say Guaita as well, but his recent flapping might give Henny another chance.

Everyone else (Townsend, Bats, Zaha incl.) is at risk of rotation

Though, to be fair, Woy's not a big fan of rotation but his recent comments on zaha (for the FA Cup game) show he's not risking our important players over just 1 game

PvA and Bat are my men

My reasoning is there’ll have been a two week break allowing decent rest and these are all huge games. Since the Brighton loss we’re right back in the poo given the other results.

It’s also worth considering the next game after this set is City - an almost certain defeat.

Not seeing Jimi in many of the RMTs... I'm minded to keep him just because I lose so much on selling him (even if just FH one-week-money) that it feels like it unbalances the team.

With a squad value of only 103.4 what do we think of this team I can squeeze in bang on the money:

        Kepa
        Laporte, Lindelof, AWB
        Sterling(vc), Hazard, Pogba, Son
        Aguero(c), Rashford, Jiminez

When playing the FH are there any traps to watch out for over the TV of my team or the SP or PP of each player? I guess the 1 FT is lost for the game week, if you subsequently play the FH? Is that the trap, not to do a FT because you would lose value, or not regain the values after the GW32 deadline? Thanks.

There's literally nothing to watch out for. Your team is completely untouched from the last gameweek including banked value.

If you make a transfer and then play the freehit that transfer disappears next game week; i.e. you keep the original player.

If he was 6m maybe ahead of Palace forwards or Jimi

              Good call.
Some of the DGW players will be rotated and only play one game.

Wont sleep on him if he is 6.0 for this week.

Vardy rarely hauls, I would go for DGW any day over him in a SGW

Wait, when are the FA cup semi finals? After 32 or 35? I had thought people were talking about wolves assets getting a rest ahead of them after 32, but the article mentions 35?

Thanks. 5 days seems enough time between games not to rotate
