    Best 3-man-defence for FH32:
    - That includes one of Luiz/Lindelof/AWB
    - That costs 13.6M max

Mathematically no, they cost 14.3M combined.
However, I bought AWB low. Still, AWB-Duffy-Lindelof leaves me 0.4M short.

Hi guys, my TV not great so tough to get Kane and Kun + the 3 mids in. ML leaders above me all used their FH though so doubt any will have Kane... Worth sacrificing Hazard?

Haz vs those teams could backfire hard but could also be genius. It's hard. Me myself is going with him and atm ditching Kane, but might change a couple of times until it's time for the GW.

Think my TV is fine and I’m not remotely interested in Kane given his fixtures. For me, it’s Kun + two of Higuain / Rashford / Lukaku (I’m going for the first two).

Thanks guys - Kane definitely makes it hard to get 11 decent players out with my TV but such a differential in my ML.. Without Kane my team could be something like this:

        Kepa
        DLuiz Duffy Lindelof AWB
        Haz DSilva Sterling Pogba
        Kun Rash

definitely... i was thinking Kane as a differential to others in my ML, the leader being 100pts ahead but no chips left (so he wont have Kane but has haz)

Gents, what would be your verdict upon this 4-4-2 FH team (v.2.0):

    Pat (fodder)
    Luiz-Laporte-Schlupp-Duffy (fodder)
    Sterling-Hazard-Pogba-Deulofeu (fodder)
    Kun-Kane (fodder)

Pretty templatish but not much cash to play around with. Pat could be any GK up to 4.5.

    Thank you.

to me a double def strategy is one of the diffs move you can make this week. Mine is double up Chelsea, considering Palace double too, with Laporte making way for Dilva. Risky but also a way to gain grounds if it works.

I think this is probably one of the biggest decisions for GW32 and deserves some discussion. Most of the big hitter picks look fairly straightforward with Sterling, Aguero, Hazard and Pogba no doubt being in most teams but also eating funds at a combined 43.2m (at current prices).

Kane has looked razor sharp since his return from injury with three goals and 5 bonus points in 4 games and is perfectly capable of scoring against Liverpool added to Spurs' first game in the new stadium against palace giving them plenty of reason to be up for a good performance. He also is most likely of all the DGW big hitters to get full minutes in both games with few options for Pochettino to rotate him.

But . . . . he's so damn expensive! Especially when fitting in the previous 4 mentioned into the squad. The non Kane squads look so much more balanced compared to the RMT's with Kane in them. Most are also likely to captain him in GW32 due to the plum fixtures for the City players (and Chelsea as a differential) thus reducing his use of funds within the squad.

      No.

Plays the leagues best defence and a decent Palace defence (ok they're not the best but they're not Huddersfield, Cardiff, or Fulham!)

Having Kane means going without better options:

      - Aguero and Sterling - Fulham and Cardiff. Enough said!
      - Lukaku (if fit). United fully motivated going for top 4. Watford and Wolves may have one eye on FA cup semi.
      - Hazard. Ok, yes it's Hazard. Just as likely to get 4 points as 30 points. But it's Cardiff and Brighton - surely they're better fixtures than Liverpool and Palace? Surely!

Conclusion - no space for Kane. I'd even be looking at Higuain before I looked at Kane!

      1. Badluck Jonathan
        • 9 Years

Kane alongside Aguero, with Sterling, Pogba and Haz behind is entirely possible.

As for Higuaín, he is nowhere near as good an option!

          • Fantasy Football Scout Member
          • 6 Years

Why is Higuain nowhere near as good an option?:

          Last 6 matches played:

Kane - Minutes 540. Total shots 28. Shots on target 11. Goals 4
Higuain - Minutes 510. Total shots 29. Shots on target 8. Goals 3

Liverpool and Palace combined average shots conceded per game last 6 = 9.66

Cardiff and Brighton combined average shots conceded per game last 6 = 12.25

Is Higuain not worth spending 2.9 less to invest elsewhere? Especially if not captaining Kane with Aguero or Sterling the clear captain choice?

Sorry - not trying to be annoying. I just really do not see the clamour for Kane given his fixtures and trying to understand it. If he was playing Wolves away and Brighton at home then I'd be all for Kane.

Just to be clear I'm not advocating Higuain. I'm on Ageuro, Rashford, and Batshuayi myself. Just suggesting he's a better option than Kane.

Kane and Aguero are the most consistent scorers in the PL over the past few seasons.

Higuain has only scored against Fulham and Huddersfield, two of the worst teams to have played in the PL. Chelsea’s performances in recent games have been poor- I just can’t see them scoring many at all.

This issue is also there for those that are thinking of WC in 32, which I’m starting to strongly consider doing the 32WC with 10-11 DGW players, be able to select a new team with 33 FH, then have 2 free transfers to deal with issues that spring up for 34 & 35, and then still have 13-14 DGW players for 35 BB.

However the Kane issue remains even with this strategy. My base draft WC is Ederson, Duffy, AWB, Valery, Sterling, Hazard, Pogba, Aguero and Jimenez.

My Kane team requires a cheaper defense with Boruc, Doherty, Schlupp plus Kane and Deulofeu. This has 11 DGW for 32, 11 DGW for 35 (plus 2 FTs, so maybe 13 DGWs)

My Non-Kane team spreads the funds further out with Foster, Young, Azpilicueta, plus Rashford and Milivojevic. This has 11 DGW for 32, 11 DGW for 35 (plus 2 FTs, so maybe 13 DGWs) and money ITB to put in Kolasinac in GW 34 for Azpilicueta and to upgrade Hazard in 35 to Salah for the run in.

On paper I think my second one looks better. However my heart is leaning towards doing the first one with Kane. Tough call for all.

If on a FH, I'd say he's very near essential status. Everyone will have Aguero, Sterling, Hazard, Pogba so adding a player who's nailed, on pens, and with Kane's PL pedigree doesn't get better as a differential, imo.

The only arguments against are price, but on a FH that really shouldn't be an issue.

      Guaita
      Stones - Lindelof - Schlupp
      Sterling - Hazard - Pogba - Son
      Zaha - Aguero - Kane

is possible for many - even more so if downgrading Son and strengthening the defence.

I’ve got a decent team value but I’m miles short of affording that team...and on top of that you’re making sacrifices in defence to fit him in. Therein lies the problem with Kane’s price

      My team WITH kane .

      Kepa/ederson

      Laporte/rudiger Luiz Lindelof awb
      Deulofeu sterling Pogba
      Kane Aguero Vardy

Pretty happy with this line up. My rank is somewhere around 240k , and pretty much everyone will have aguero-rashford-bats/Higuain/Zaha as striker .

Kane is a good differential to have. We all know what he can do on his day against any side. I may even consider to captain him because of his guaranteed minutes

I can either afford Zaha or Azpi but not both. Rest of team is fine. So I'll either bench an attacker or a 2nd defender

If we're wishing for stuff, Southampton DGW this week would have been better. Valery, Bednarek, JWP against a rotated Watford team with nothing to play for.

I thought this but then someone swayed my opinion because 35 we will be bench boosting. Player such as valery, JWP in Southampton are great budget enablers for the bench boost.

    Aguero Jimenez (Niasse)

    32 10xdgw players +Mane

I thought I was set yesterday with my FH team, but we all know how it goes... (that's the beauty of it :D)

I have Sterling and Higuain in my squad at the moment. I know Sterling is regarded as a must have at the moment (looking at his gameweek history confirms it). But I'm having second thoughts at the moment, both of these are potentially exposed to rotation.

The end result is me creating a debate in my head (maybe it's just an urge of doing something different), so if you could help with (re)assurance, it would be nice 😀

    A) Sterling+Higuain or B) David Silva + Kane

*****at 3K, on FH at the moment , all other chips remaining

I'm at 4-3-3 at the moment (quite a template-ish team)

        Ryan
        Schlupp Lindeloff Laporte Luiz
        Pogba Hazard Sterling
Rashford Aguero Higuain (all other bench-fodders)

I do not make the case of Silva being able to cope with Sterling, it is a 2v2 situation.

Silva quite often gets the 6-7 points GWs, so if raheem is kept on ex.11-12 points, is it realistically to expect Kane to outscore Higuain by that difference. guts also tell me that the second option will accumulate more minutes than the first one (I still think Giroud should be rewarded for his brilliant game in Europa League, and Pep is Pep)..

PS. I haven't posted in a while, however, at this stage of the season, i could potentially ruin everything by trying too hard to differentiate, while it is expected of me to be safe...

    Aguero - Batshuayi

Even though Mane has a single GW, it's too hard to ignore his form. He may well end up outscoring a lot of the DGW'ers around the same price (Lukaku etc).

Good thing about Dilva is that he’s had no internationals. So he’s got a nice break.

Son is explosive if he hits form who knows what score he could reach on a DGW.

I urge Free Hitters to think about how you expect the DGW32 games to play out when making your selections. For example, if you have Kepa and Lindelof: Chelsea might keep clean sheets, but given their opponents they might also score quite a few goals and defenders like Azpi could be in line for some attacking returns that Kepa won't get. Would you be better off with a Chelsea defender and perhaps DDG in goal who could make a lot of saves and still get a CS? Same with Ederson, who you're basically hoping for 6 or 12 points from. It could be a waste of a spot and it doesn't maximise the potential value in these top teams completely dominating the game and scoring a lot of goals. A clean sheet is a clean sheet, but a goal-fest is something you want to be involved in.

      Correct thinking.
I currently have Kepa & Luiz.
Was thinking about getting Azpi for Kepa, but he's bloody 1m expensive so can't.
Going with attacking defender's like Luiz Schlupp Duffy though to cover that.

Good call with your defence. With two bites at the cherry you want at least a decent chance of grabbing some goals and assists. I'd rather have Foster and a stronger outfield than Kepa / Ederson.

Really good point and though I have had Ederson in day 1 of my FH draft I think there are GKs who could match his points with their potential for saves and bonus despite getting a CS less.

That's the thing, there are keepers who can and quite possibly will match him. Let's consider a realistic outcome - City get one CS and concede a scrappy random goal in the other game. 8 or 9 points for Ederson. Foster can easily get you the same.

But if that money upgrades you from a bit of a filler defender to outfield player with much more attacking potential, I would ditch Ederson in a second. You don't want to go into the City and Chelsea fixtures hoping for CS. You want to go into the fixtures hoping for an absolute mauling and your triple-ups to be right amongst it.

100% yes. Despite people being hyper critical of Higuain, in FPL terms we don't need him to be a great player long term, we just need him to bang in a few goals against Cardiff and Brighton. Deulofeu scored a hat-trick and Deeney a brace in the same fixture against Cardiff - does anyone really believe even a patchy Chelsea can't beat them 5-0?

If you Chelsea defenders gets a CS, that's fine. If Higuain gets a hat-trick followed by a brace because he's firing shots off at will (highest on goals imminent) you will be kicking yourself and wondering why you ignored him so easily. He's exactly the type of striker that can look bad and still score a bunch of goals.

Kepa and Azpi could prove to be a viable route, a possible edge if they get double CS and possibly a bps or two. DDG in goal is perhaps the better one, but if say you keep Jimenez him and DDG is not edging the bets and when i planned my route to 31, 32 and 33 i try to avoid scenarios of that kind, thus edging the bets with double Chelsea def and hoping JImenez to break Uniteds CS. And i don´t have faith in Uniteds defense considering their opponents which both are more than capable of doing damage. Chelsea just 1 goal behind liverpool in conceding goals at home and take away the odd 6-0 vs City fairly decent away too and Cardiff just one goal average at home. Both wolves and Watford have something like 1.5 goal average home and away, United concedes approx the same home and away.
