Fixtures

Which FPL players are on international duty ahead of Double Gameweek 32?

A week of international fixtures gets underway today, with Germany and Wales among the countries in action this evening.

This is the final international break of 2018/19 and falls before the biggest Double Gameweek of the season, so there will be a nervy wait for Fantasy managers as we keep our fingers crossed for an injury-free seven days.

This article gives a club-by-club rundown on which assets will be away from their sides during this period, also detailing the dates in which these players will be competing for their respective countries.

There are several high-profile names missing from this list, of course.

Mohamed Salah (£13.3m) won’t be linking up with Egypt, while Aymeric Laporte (£5.9m) and Sergio Aguero (£11.8m) will not be representing their respective countries either.

Alexandre Lacazette (£9.4m) was omitted from the France national squad, while Gonzalo Higuain (£9.6m), like Aguero, wasn’t selected by Argentina head coach Lionel Scaloni.

Marcos Alonso (£6.4m), Cesar Azpilicueta (£6.3m) and Jonny (£4.3m) won’t feature for Spain, meanwhile.

There are a cluster of players whose countries are scheduled to be in action in the early hours of Wednesday March 27 who then face a long-haul flight back from the Americas: Tim Ream (£4.2m), Antonio Valencia (£6.4m), DeAndre Yedlin (£4.5m), Miguel Almiron (£6.0m), Fabian Balbuena (£4.2m), Javier Hernandez (£6.1m) and Raul Jimenez (£6.8m).

It may be, however, that some of those players have been the subject of agreements between club and country to return to the UK before their respective nations’ second fixture over the international break, as has been the case before.

The good news for owners of Argentina and Brazil assets is that those two countries aren’t playing their two international friendlies in South America, although Argentina travel to Morocco on Tuesday.

Sadio Mane (£10.0m) is amongst the popular Fantasy options in action in Africa on Tuesday, while Son Heung-min (£8.6m) will be heading over to Asia for a double-header with South Korea – the second fixture being contested on Tuesday morning (UK time).

Won player of the month for February so you'd imagine not... depends what's going on with van Aanholt.

Seems like he was at fault for Brighton goals and then a no-show in the FA Cup, so he could slot in at LB if Hodgson switches things in midfield (Kouyate / Meyer could come in...)

Hard to know, but he's played 90 the last few games which bodes well!

I’m in a minority here but I think he’s a risk too - probable double but no more. I expect Kouyate to get at least one of the 3 games. Schlupp only becomes safe imo if Zaha is out. He’s the utility player who can play wide.

Is anyone tempted by Pedro with a FH this week? 4.0 ppg is ok for 6.4m (same as Bilva for e.g.) and it's a cheap way into the CHE attack for 2 easy fixtures that can enable Kane for those of us with poor team values.

E.g. for me it's looking like:

    A) Wan-B, Pedro & Kane
    B) Lindelof, Hazard & Zaha

        Can't see one really.

        Current side with 0.8m itb:

        Ederson
        Luiz Jonny AWB
        Alli Sterling Hazard Pogba Mili
        Rashford Aguero.

Am a bit yeah. Lindelof was originally in there, just concerned at his potentially missing a game due to the birth.

Yes, I saw you post that yesterday.
It's a concern for sure. Defence is something I'm struggling with, and Jonny would be a great option if I thought he'd play twice, but I just don't see it.

RMT says that I should score the following:
    Week 31 - 63 (actually scored 22)
    Week 32 - 132 (FH)
    Week 33 - 62
    Week 34 - 72 (WC)
    Week 35 - 122 (BB)
    Week 36 - 64
    Week 37 - 66
    Week 38 - 63

Total 581 points from 32 onwards.
Has anyone else looked at their projected points for the run in?

          I share this pain.
Top scoring in my mini league last week was a player who did no planning, used his FH, and 2nd WC ages ago.
He had 5 players starting last week.
          Digne
          Mane
          Richardlison
          King
          Anderson
          58 points.

I don't have the patience to plan what I will do on WC and BB - that's the issue!

I really think Hazard has to be sacrificed for the overall good of the team, if you're going with both Aguero and Kane.

Yeah I think the defence is lacking a City player but I fancy CP for a cleansheet at home to HUD and then anything away to TOT is a bonus. I am definitely thinking cheap keeper anyway as save points can close the gap on any potential cleansheet a top4 keeper gets as they tend to cap out at 6 pts

          We have a similar mid/attack.
Well exactly the same, except instead of Hazard I have B.Silva and Milivojevic. (3-4-3)
I think I'd prefer this that having Hazard, and a double palace defence.
Not trying to talk you out of it, just sharing an idea.

Yeah I get the reasoning with that actually. I quite fancy Hazard as a captain this week though. Can see others sharing minutes and if he fires big it could be a real differential in my mini leagues.

Lindelof over Shaw. Shaw is on 9 yellows might miss the second game. Other than that, your attack is great and you've got most bases covered. No Wolves but they probably will rotate heavily so i'd say 9/10.

I do at the moment. Moved it from Aguero to Hazard yesterday. Hazard did perform well against both these teams earlier in the season, and has less of a roatation cloud hanging over him than the other two. Plus he's far more likely to get bonus for any goal involvement (less points sharing in Chelsea ranks), and on pens against the two sides that have conceded the most pens this season. And also I think he needs to perform for the summer; if he stays he needs to get into the CL, and if he goes he needs to prove to Zidane that he can be trusted with the responsibility to not go missing when the need arises.

      1. Chandler Bing
        • 7 Years

Couldn't have put it better myself. However, Hazard does have a lot of travelling to do in the next few days while Aguero hasn't even travelled for international games. Adding to that, he gets an extra day of rest between his DGW games compared to Haz. Also, Chelsea's form is questionable.

Don't keep Shaw, there is no need to have any value in bench players with a free hit in a double game week.

You will be beyond unlucky if you pick regularly starting players, and they suddenly miss not one, but two games in a row.

Stuck choosing between two teams, which one's better?

    A)
    Ederson
    Luiz Smalling Duffy Schlupp
    Sterling Hazard Pogba
    Kane Aguero Zaha

    B)
    Ederson
    Luiz Lindelof Duffy Tomkins
    Sterling Hazard Pogba

Basically its a choice between Zaha and a better defence or Rashford and a cheaper defence.
