Fixtures

Which FPL players are on international duty ahead of Double Gameweek 32?

A week of international fixtures gets underway today, with Germany and Wales among the countries in action this evening.

This is the final international break of 2018/19 and falls before the biggest Double Gameweek of the season, so there will be a nervy wait for Fantasy managers as we keep our fingers crossed for an injury-free seven days.

This article gives a club-by-club rundown on which assets will be away from their sides during this period, also detailing the dates in which these players will be competing for their respective countries.

There are several high-profile names missing from this list, of course.

Mohamed Salah (£13.3m) won’t be linking up with Egypt, while Aymeric Laporte (£5.9m) and Sergio Aguero (£11.8m) will not be representing their respective countries either.

Alexandre Lacazette (£9.4m) was omitted from the France national squad, while Gonzalo Higuain (£9.6m), like Aguero, wasn’t selected by Argentina head coach Lionel Scaloni.

Marcos Alonso (£6.4m), Cesar Azpilicueta (£6.3m) and Jonny (£4.3m) won’t feature for Spain, meanwhile.

There are a cluster of players whose countries are scheduled to be in action in the early hours of Wednesday March 27 who then face a long-haul flight back from the Americas: Tim Ream (£4.2m), Antonio Valencia (£6.4m), DeAndre Yedlin (£4.5m), Miguel Almiron (£6.0m), Fabian Balbuena (£4.2m), Javier Hernandez (£6.1m) and Raul Jimenez (£6.8m).

It may be, however, that some of those players have been the subject of agreements between club and country to return to the UK before their respective nations’ second fixture over the international break, as has been the case before.

The good news for owners of Argentina and Brazil assets is that those two countries aren’t playing their two international friendlies in South America, although Argentina travel to Morocco on Tuesday.

Sadio Mane (£10.0m) is amongst the popular Fantasy options in action in Africa on Tuesday, while Son Heung-min (£8.6m) will be heading over to Asia for a double-header with South Korea – the second fixture being contested on Tuesday morning (UK time).

I can just see the FPL dream team being a mixed bag of trash thrashing all the premium assets we are trying to squeeze in 🙂

Not over confident on Higuaín myself.

Can just afford this team, but wary of injuries,

        Kepa
        Luiz, Lindelöf, Laporte, Schlupp
        Pogba, Hazard, Sterling VC,
        Aguero C, Kane, Rashford

        fodder Stephens, fodder fodder

The free hit teams for gw32 are interesting.

Should be some very decent scores (famous last words...)

However, what I’m really looking forward to are the wk34 wildcard teams

There are so many more variables/approaches that can be adopted....

There will be a much greater variety of teams - fun times!!

Yep, I think 32 FH'ers will all get rather similar scores in their relative MLs. 33 will then be dependent on previous preparation from weeks before when the team reverts back. If you're leading a ML you probably feel fairly safe for now, but 34 is where it will really get exciting for the last 5 GWs

I don't know what a safe ceiling would be right now to be frank, in terms of points for leading your mini-league, but between the next GW and final games, there are huge points to be made (and lost, if you're unlucky/not on the ball).

Thought about that, but I keep hearing loads of issues with Utd Defenders.
Shaw on 9 yellows, Lindelof's missus expecting baby, Smalling likely to be rotated.
Also I fancy more attacking returns from City defenders that the Utd ones.

I haven't sold them. But I have sold Robertson, TAA etc. So selling them on a free hit decreases overall team value? Apologies if stupid question.

So confused lol. I had 104.1 team value. Activated my free hit, got rid of a few players. Now have 103.2 team value.

As you’ve got rid of so many you are now looking at your sell value. When your old players come back in it’ll be back to TV, which will be much higher. Stop worrying or I’ll kick you in the balls.

Triple captain is a head scratcher for GW32.
Aguero or Sterling looks the obvious options.

    Sterling the popular choice?

I remember the captain discussion last big game of "Kun vs Sterling"...Sterling went nuts, Kun didnt and the EO for both wasnt close at all - It was Kun by a mile.

Kun not playing internationals is a big plus over Sterling. He will start both games and play at least 140-150 min. I guess.

      B. The slight upgrade of Ederson over Kepa does not outweigh the upside of Schlupp and Silva instead of the other two.

Milo never scores from open play - so you are banking on a PK.
I wouldn't trust Brighton to keep a clean sheet in either game so now you're just hoping a defender scores a goal.

Schlupp is attacking and gets a gift with HUD at home.
Man City has been playing through both Silvas in KDB's absence. Not definite that he'll get attacking returns, but I'll take chances with Fulham and Cardiff on the horizon.

HI - sorry for the question, but having searched I keep getting the wrong 'flavour' of response.

I'm FH this week. I fully get that when i revert back to my team at end of 31 (at teh beginning of 33), cash in bank and players will be back the same, only player values may have changed depending on moves this week which may or may not be beneficial.

It is the value of players in FH week that interests me. Use Doherty as the example - bought at 4.6, SV of 5.0, market value of 5.4.

If i make a FH team today without Doherty in it, confirm it. That's all fine - I've used the 5.0 i got from his sale. If i then tomorrow am tinkering and decide i want Doherty back in, will it cost me:

    a) 5.4 or:
    b) does it acknowledge that i own him at the 'better' price/valuation of 5.0?

If the latter then great. If the former then I will need to be wary of committing to removal of any players this week that i have value wrapped up in that i may deiced to have come deadline day.

Fairly sure it's the unfortunate scenario where you lose the value and have to be wary. Currently holding out as long as possible on a decision because the 0.1 higher buy back value of a player I may want to sell would make me have to scrap a whole player down to a worse one if I change and then want to change back to what I have right now.

Yeah that's the fear. Chelsea can't rly afford to not win every game right now in the top 4 battle, but at the same time I have a gut feeling Giroud gets a start or plenty minutes. Scored the hattrick recently, both of the teams are weaker teams....its tough. Eriksen probably more nailed but his first fixture is trash. First game at the new stadium could be some returns in the waiting if Spurs play out of their minds or something, but who knows? Rly a tough call imo.

This is what i'm hoping continues. Obviously you never ever know 100%, but after int'l break Higuaín surely can play 2 games back to back without rest. Europa game is also an easy enough draw, so Giroud can handle that.

              2. Forza Juventus
                • 9 Years

That said, Sarri could easily let Higuaín play Cardiff and Giroud get Brighton (or vice versa). Because then almost certainty i'd imagine Higuaín would get West Ham, Giroud Europa, Higuaín Liverpool....cause the games are rly close together.

Yeah as I detailed a bit better with my reply right below this, i'm only scared cause of Giroud and rotation. Otherwise I much prefer Higuaín's fixtures. Tough.

                  5 years, 10 days ago

I'd maybe get Son/Alli over Eriksen, but agree Giroud risk isn't zero.

Just think we could be overanalysing it - as above Groud hasn't started many, hasn't scored in any he started, and not convinced Sarri will bench Higuain so soon after him joining.

Yeah it's just my analysis above about the 5 upcoming fixtures and their proximity to each other that worries me. Check out their run and fixture date for the next 5 on Google or whatever. Very close together and could see Higgy miss one of the next 2 easier fixtures. Worrying.

That's fair. But I'd much prefer kane to a mid for nailedness if everyone's fit again. Would probably end up dropping Higuain for Kane and go 3-4-3 - so thinking about it it's really Higuain vs any Spurs attacker

But with him lurking he's not worth it imo.
                      I'm going Lukaku instead.

Anyone considering keeping Mane for the DGW despite only having one fixture (and a poor one at that)? He's the most on-form player in the league at the moment, and we know how the old saying goes

Appreciate that, and i'm gonna get a bite on the backside, but i'm going all in for 11 dgw's . His spot will be taken by Watford fella, Delou (i'll also have HAZ, STERL & POG)

Cannot get my head around 4th Midfielder to go with Pogba Sterling Hazard
                      1) Sane but then bring out Mcity def and is even nailed to start 1?
                      2) Son (Again not guaranteed to play all 180 mins)
                      3) Deulofeu (Can bring Kane by sacrificing Rashford and play 4-3-3 with city chelsea manutd defence cover)

yes, getting him for 35 for sure.
for now, I am tempted to get Alli on a one week punt. Getting Son back on WC34.
                          Sane seems very very risky.

Looks good, and your defence is still strong. I think you're right going for Boly over Jonny as he's more likely to play both.

I still have doubts about Hazard, but he's got to be there given Chelsea's double.

Are you confident on Jiminez playing both games? I'm not sure. Zaha or Batshuayi might be worth it.

I know, and I'm not likely to do it for that reason, but even if they got 70 mins each and 20 mins as a sub, they're playing Fulham and Cardiff 😀

I might punt on Sané or one of the Silva's. Ederson feels a bit meh.

Trying to Bench Boost this week, current team is:

                        Foster, Boruc*
                        Stones**, Shaw**, Doherty, Luiz, TAA*

                        Aguero, Rashford, Jimenez

                        * = SGW, ** = injured (right now)

Have 1 FT, 0.4 ITB - am thinking I might take a -4/-8 - any good transfers to make?

think both injuries will be okay, won't transfer them out. So maybe Brooks out for a DGW player. What else did you had in mind to take a -4/-8?

Hello, sorry for late reply - I'm thinking the following transfers, in the following priority:

                            1. Brooks > Deulofeu
                            2. TAA > Schlupp
                            3. Boruc > Ryan

                            Hahaha bring it on

Must admit I’m tempted by the overall look of B though

I actually don't like spending on defense for the sake of it.

If downgrading Lukaku I'd be rather Tempted to get Sane/Son in Midfield.

Palace defender + United/Brighton defender. Core is same imo
                              So not interested.

I've also tried that tbh, but didn't like it. I'd rather put money on attackers atm as CS are drying up for sure

Like b.Working towards it at the moment, but with schlupp and Zaha as can't afford pva anyway.

Deulofeu + Rüdiger or Doherty + Jota?
