Captains

Join us live for Double Gameweek 32 captain video

Join us live on YouTube today for the Double Gameweek 32 captaincy video.

Joe and David will be discussing who should have the armband for this weekend’s fixtures at 12:30 pm.

You can watch the video either embedded in this article below or on our YouTube channel – and if you miss the broadcast, you can always catch up on it at a later date.

Manchester City certainly have the most appealing set of fixtures as they travel to Fulham and host Cardiff.

That’s why it is no surprise to see Sergio Aguero (£11.8m) and Raheem Sterling (£11.6m) top of the latest poll.

The Argentinian has been the leader since it began and currently sits on 54%.

However, his English colleague has enjoyed a boost in the vote ever since scoring a hat-trick for his country last week.

Before England’s 5-0 win over the Czech Republic, Aguero had 61% in the poll and Sterling just 19%.

As of Monday morning, it’s now 27% for the midfielder. Obviously, Fantasy Football Scout users cannot change the recipient of their first and only vote in our poll, so it is possible that some who initially went for Aguero may have changed their mind.

But, at the very least, we can see a new voting trend that has shifted the numbers between the two players due to external factors.

In our video, we will also discuss some of the less considered options, such as Eden Hazard (£10.9m), Harry Kane (£12.5m) and Ederson (£5.6m), all of whom have under 6% backing in the poll.

    gw24 Salah- 2 pts
    gw25 Sane- 2 pts
    gw26 Salah- 8 pts
    gw27 Son- 4 pts
    gw28 Salah- 3 pts

is that from 4k to 13k or did you meant 40k?
a lot of them weeks you´ve lost little on captaincy fail as most had the same player.

a significant drop imo, regardless of which of them as it´s late in season so less time to regain it, i been in the 30-50 k for ages and i broke down to 10k now thanks to a Mané cap and Haz cap in that gw where Pog missed pen. But looking at scores in the 30k now it´s almost like a bad cap choice and i´m back again.

But still a very good season for you-)

Hows this FH looking, trying to go for players who will play the full 180 over both games.

    Kepa
    Duffy Schlupp Laporte
    Sterling Hazard Babel Milli Pogba
    Aguero Lukaku

    Bench fodders

So it all comes down to Kane or not to Kane for me

    team #1: 4-4-2
    Ederson
    Azpi, Luiz, Dunk, Schlupp
    Pogba, Camarasa, Hazard, Sterling
    Kun Kane

    team #2:3-4-3
    Ederson
    Azpi, Luiz, Smalling
    Pogba, Mili, Haz, Sterling
    Kun , Rashford, Zaha

i do fancy the double chelsea def, what do you guys think?

    to sum it up:
A : Dunk, Schlupp, Camarasa, Kane
    or
    B: Smalling, Mili, Rashford, Zaha

Is it a justified argument to go Dilva over Sterling on a FH because...

    • Well rested for international and likely to start both

    • Save 3+ million which could bulk up the team massively

    • Dilva is ‘due’ a goal

    • KDB could still be eased back

    • Sterling could only start one

    1. IRBOX ⚽

Sterling essential. Dilva a nice differential in addition

unless you want both Kane and Haz i´d see no reason to choose between Dilva and Sterling, and Sterling better pick than the first two mentioned even with just one game and a cameo. Dilva is in consideration for the third spot from City, but with CS for City very likely in both games Dilva must have a goal and play above 60+ in both games just to even Laporte? On the flip side, one goal conceded and Laportes points goes drastically down.

Best SGW player gamble. I’m increasingly thinking this may be the way to go and not a differential such as Alli if I gamble.

A Vardy (pricey and forward spot but great fixture and potential haul)
B Maddison or Tielemans (cheap 5th mid - low risk)
    C Mane (instead of Pogba?)
D Liverpool defence (cs and attacking returns?)
E Bournemouth mid or attacker (cheap but Bournemouth away)
    F AN Other

      None for me.
      It's just not a gamble that's needed.
Mane has one tough game, Pogba has two easier ones.
Vardy has a nice fixture - but so does Zaha/Rashford, and then a second one to fall back on.

      1. pingissimus
        • 5 Years
        5 years, 26 days ago

It probably will be none in the end.

The one that tempts me most is Vardy - potentially a big upside and I don’t rate the chances of Higuain or Lukaku hauling.

        1. HamezMace

          As I say, I'd rather have Rashford(WAT/wol) or Zaha/Bat (HUD/tot) than Vardy.

Let’s be honest, is Sterling only now ‘essential’ for the FH team because of his recent hatricks?

How often have we seen a player get hatricks then follow up with average returns

Not saying Sterling is a bad pick but he does get rested and has just returned from internationals

if ever there were two games in a double game week for Pep to rest players before an FA Cup semi then this is it.

Its all well and good people on here saying 'but look at those fixtures', but those fixtures have 'rotation' written all over them, with Mahrez, Sane, D Silva etc all primed to start at least one game each, maybe two 🙂

There doesn't seem to be a 4th mid who has that winning combination of form, fixtures and lack of rotation risk for our FH teams, after we have stuffed them full of the common premiums. So if we are technically facing the potential of that 4th mid returning in only one game...is it time to consider a SGW player in that slot? Some good SGW fixtures this week

As I similarly above, Mili, or even Townsend - home to Huddersfield is the best fixture you can get, and then they have another game to fall back on for an extra 2 points minimum.

What single game week player for less than 7 is tempting you?

Someone like Tielemans or Mkhi I guess. Or even using someone like Kola as a defender to free up some funds (as the common consensus is that there won't be many clean sheets around anyway)

Got 4.3 in the bank, planning on transferring Son in for Westwood ahead of GW34 then making a double swoop for a dirt cheap defender on a double (Valery for Trent?) and a striker on a double for Barnes (thinking Jimenez if Wolves lose the semi to Watford) Thoughts please.

Only team I’ll be tripling up on is City.

Maybe Chelsea if I have CHO as first sub.

I keep reading how it’s essential to have triple Utd and Chelsea and it’s very concerning for the community 😉

I wouldn't mind tripling up on United and Chelsea given their fixtures. More hopeful of points rather than expectant though.

For just one week, I dont think it will be an issue to triple on some teams.

    Currently on:
    Kepa
    Luiz / Duffy / AWB
    Hazard / Sterling / Dilva / Pogba
    Rashford / Aguero / Zaha

    How does it look?

      Looks good!

Would you want to consider Bats + Lindelof instead of Zaha + Duffy?

Jimenez to play (or to be rested) but stuck in Mexico until at least the 27th at 5 AM UK time, meaning it could only be in UK on the 28th the earlier seems quite tight to be ready to play on Sat at 3PM at burnley isn't it?

Sane surely a banker to start against Cardiff (H)?

Might be worth a go on FH. I think Sane at home to Carfiff (90 mins) would probably match / outscore Sterling away to Fulham (90 mins).

    Anyone going for both?

      Considering it definitely.

9.3 is just too expensive for 3rd or 4th mid...

Tempted, but that means Laporte/Ederson out and City has far more chances for CS than CHE or UTD

Would anyone recommend Triple Captain on Sterling this week?

Yep - certainly if you’re also looking at TC Kun and fancy a decent gamble and regard TC as a gambling chip.

Most I think will be on captain Kun. Triple Sterling could be great if it comes off whereas triple Kun would be much less of an advantage.

I’m going captain Sterling simply because he’s oop as a mid and gets cs bonus and extra point for goals.

Is Martial will be a good options?
If Kaku and Rashford still injured.

I personally expect both Rashford and Lukaku to start both games. Martial v Lingard for the other attacking spot.

I have no wildcard but all my chips available.

I was originally looking at Freehit this week but my two rivals have both used their TC.

I was thinking of TC Sterling this week and making 5 transfers for -16 in the hope that he 'pays for the hits' then free hitting GW33 and having plenty of DGWs for the bench boost in GW35.

Seems the best way to navigate without WC?

-16 feels so risky. With lots of people also playing FH or TC, you're bound to get a low GW rank

      what will be your transfers?

    Should I get
    a) Lindelof in a 4-3-3
    or
    b) Deulofeu in a 3-4-3?

Do not have enough TV so can spend a maximum of 5.6 on the 4th Mid.

People worried about Sterling/Aguero's minutes over the DGW, City's schedule is as followed:

    30/03: DGW Game 1
    03/04: DGW Game 2
06/04: Fa Cup Semi vs Brighton
    09/04: UCL vs Spurs

It is very plausible that City go fall strength in both their EPL fixtures and then field a weaker side against Brighton in the Semi's.
This would give the main City starters 1 week of rest.

To me this seems more likely than City going with a weak team for their 2nd EPL game and then a Strong team in the FA cup as it means the main City starters would have a few days rest before they play Spurs.

I personally think both Sterling and Aguero will start both games during the DGW - and one of these players will be given the TC.

Fully agree with your assessment. My only worry is that Sterling may be rested DW game 1 to keep him fresh post the international games

There is a possibility, but with Man City playing in the early kick off we might get some leaked team news.

I think they will go full strength in the FA cup semi final and rotate against Cardiff.

They can beat Cardiff at home with the likes of Mahrez, Sane and Jesus.

In a semi final, you'd want your best players irrespective of the opposition.

They play Spurs 3 days later though, you have to factor in that.

Yep. I think we can all agree against Spurs they'll be full strength - it's just a guessing game for the other 3 games.

Agreed, but I think I'd have my money on a weaker side in the FA cup semi. I don't think City can afford to play a weak side in the Premier League considering how close the title race is.

Couldn't disagree any more actually. Pep will not disrespect the FA Cup by playing his weaker team there. Almost got knocked out by Swansea already when resting kun. If you HAD to lose one match there it would be one of the league games as that is not killing a trophy. Plus at home in the league they are v strong and can beat Cardiff with their subs easier than Brighton at Wembley in a cup semi imo.

In reality of course it will likely be a mixture of rotations across all the fixtures and positions, rather than one obviously weaker team.

You've nailed it with your last point.
What is a 'weaker' City team?

Is Sane a weaker option than B.Silva?
        Is D.Silva weaker than KdB?
        Is Otamendi weaker than Stones?

Well in this Scenario we are talking Sterling and Aguero.

Is Mahrez weaker than Sterling? Yes
Is Jesus weaker than Aguero? Yes

            Agreed.
I skimmed the originally post, and was just referring to City rotation over the competitions in general.

We are in a fortunate position this week where by the likes of Aguero and Sterling are more nailed than players such as Deeney, Jimenez.

To me, it's more about the factor of City playing Spurs away from home a few days later in the most important competition. Will definitely one of and if not, the biggest game of the season for them so far.

Agree with that but I don't think they would sacrifice the fa Cup for it. No reason the first XI can't play twice in 3 days.
