Aguero and Sterling start as Mitrovic absent for Fulham

Double Gameweek 32 is already off to a promising start as the team news came in from Craven Cottage.

As expected, both Sergio Aguero (£11.8m) and Raheem Sterling (£11.6m) were named in the starting line-up in the front three.

They are joined there by Bernardo Silva (£7.5m) who is likely to operate on the right with Sterling on the left.

That meant that Leroy Sané (£9.3m) sits on the bench alongside Gabriel Jesus (£9.9m).

Aymeric Laporte (£5.9m) and Ederson (£5.6m) are both in the defence with the former at centre-back as Oleksandr Zinchenko (£4.7m) occupies the left-back slot.

Joining Laporte in the middle of the defence is Nicolas Otamendi (£6.0m) while Vincent Kompany (£5.2m) and John Stones (£5.2m) are both on the bench.

Encouragingly for those hoping for a Manchester City clean sheet, Aleksandar Mitrovic (£6.4m) is absent for Fulham today.

It has now been revealed that the Serbian forward is struggling with an injury.

“Mitro has been struggling with a slight problem for the last couple of weeks. Coming back from international duty and he’s not ready to play today. We’re looking to get him some treatment and take it day by day with Mitro at the moment to see where we are come Tuesday, and longer term we’ll look at that and see how it goes.” – Scott Parker

Jean Michael Seri (£4.9m) is also missing as well as out-of-form defender Tim Ream (£4.2m), both of whom were being assessed by Scott Parker in the week.

Denis Odoi (£4.4m) is on the bench as Fulham’s caretaker manager takes a different approach to defence.

He’s lined up with a five-man back-line with Calum Chambers (£4.2m), Maxime Le Marchand (£4.2m) and Timothy Fosu-Mensah (£4.5m) flanked by Joe Bryan (£4.8m) and Cyrus Christie (£4.2m).

Fulham XI: Rico; Fosu-Mensah, Chambers, Christie, Bryan; Cairney, Le Marchand, Zambo Anguissa; Ayité, Sessegnon, Babel.

Manchester City XI: Ederson; Zinchenko, Laporte, Otamendi, Walker; Gundogan, D Silva, De Bruyne; Sterling, Aguero, B Silva.

Probably save him for the semi final now.

One goal and assist is pretty rubbish overall v fulham and Cardiff

Depends on what Liverpool do IMO. Need a Liverpool win to keep the pressure on City in the PL.

FA Cup is the sacrificial lamb out of the 3 competitions left.

The logical thing is for the physio to assess the extent of the injury before assumptions can be made

Kun doesn't get more pts. And Sterling has more time to close the pts difference. Logic really

He won’t play Cardiff though with the Semi around the corner

      1. The Tinkerman

I’d imagine that’s down to Aguero himself. If he want to play I’d wager he gets the start, but then rested again.

1 start was always a risk with any Man City outfield player.
