The best defensive players to sign with the Free Hit chip in Blank Gameweek 33

Fantasy Premier League managers are encouraged to use the Fantasy Football Scout members’ area if they are planning to tackle Blank Gameweek 33 with the Free Hit chip.

This is the first instalment in a two-part series considering this tactic for the weekend’s depleted round of fixtures.

We have run comparisons on the top options from the four positions ahead of Blank Gameweek 33, using the data available to us in the members’ area.

In this article, we will be looking at the goalkeepers and defenders together.

    With potential price changes likely to block me from my planned WC34 team, I've been forced to think it over again. I know from which teams I want players, but I could eigher go super cheap to afford Lacazette or a little more expensive and settle for Rashford. What do you think?

    I think I'm going to keep Boruc and hope for the best, more upside to ditching Anderson for a mid who could deliver decent returns.

      In same boat w those 2, but think it could be time for a hit to get both out. I have no WC, so whomever I sign for GK has to be in there till end of season. Boric seems to risky to keep and if he doesnt play this week, hell have to go next week anyway.

        Yep, I'm benching Rice & Anderson and fielding AWB currently but not comfortable with that as I think Newcastle will score. Think it's a case of keeping fingers crossed for Boruc and ditching Anderson for another mid. Got 8.8 to spend, kept that much itb in case Spurs ended up playing in 33.

      Also got Boruc and Anderson but have come to the conclution that my free transfer must be to get a new keeper (most likely Schmeichel). Will have to start Anderson but that's not the end of the world, I'm sure he'll be fit to play against Chelsea. He's got poor form and lacks consistency, but he's still a very good player so I'll start him and hope for a surprise score to wipe out that Chelsea clean sheet. Would only afford to swap Anderson for someone like Fraser and I'm not conviced it will pay off.

        We have no idea if he will be fit yet do we!? I have Boruc, Anderson and Higuain. Lucky me. Don’t see any brilliant replacements that play this week and remainder of season so without WC I will likely save transfer for more important gameweek 34 and see who really needs to go then.

          The club tweeted that it was only a minor knock suffred during the international break. Game against Chelsea is not until monday night, I don't think a minor knock takes 2 weeks to heal. I would be very surprised if he's not in the squad, but I hope he'll know more after the presser.

          I'm wildcarding in GW34 so it's only for this week. It's eighter Kepa or Schmeichel, and with Hudds already relegated and having only scored 7 goals at home all season, I'm leaning towards Schmeichel.

                    Kane is too expensive for me and plays City in the DGW35. But otherwise Spurs have great fixtures, he could be a great captain for GW34. I just think one attacker from their team is enough and I really like the price of Son.

                        Not sure, I can't see it, people think that's just the way Sarri's rotation works, I think he'd be crazy to change a winning team and put Hig back in as he's been awful. Maybe some of it is Hig owners trying to justify owning him? I don't own but had on FH and watched them play Cardiff, he was utterly dire.
