The fixture schedules for the “big six” Premier League teams

Fantasy managers will now be planning for the final two Double Gameweeks of the season after a tricky period either side of the international break.

Two Blank Gameweeks and one Double Gameweek have already been navigated and now just five Gameweeks of the season remain, including a double-header for Brighton and Cardiff next week and then a bumper Gameweek 35.

Wildcard or not, FPL bosses will be loading their squads with players with “extra” matches over the next fortnight as well as looking at those assets with the most appealing fixtures in the season run-in once the Double Gameweeks are concluded.

Players from the “big six” will no doubt be dominating our thoughts again: four of those half-dozen clubs have two matches in Gameweek 35, while Liverpool enjoy meetings with Cardiff City and Huddersfield Town before the end of April.

With that in mind, we thought it was worth a look at the schedule for the “big six” clubs over the next month or so, given that all of these teams are still involved in European competition.

Rotation has to be a concern with all six of these sides competing on two fronts, although it will be difficult, for example, to imagine Jurgen Klopp making wholesale changes to his Liverpool side against Cardiff and Huddersfield with the league title on the line.

Below is a club-by-club itinerary for the remaining games of 2018/19.

The fixtures in italics are UEFA Champions League/Europa League ties and we have also included the dates for the next stages of these competitions, in case the teams below progress.

Some of the Premier League games around those semi-finals could be moved back/forward a day if some of the clubs in question advance.

I was expecting more of a 50/50 split actually, a bit surprised everyone is going with KDB, not that he can't be a good option of course.

KDB hitting form imo, makes him a contender. Obviously more expensive and punty though right.

KDB is fools gold. He has not had a good season. Even when he has played he hasn't scored well.

    6. JohnnyMagrinho
        5 years, 11 days ago

No idea why anyone has said KDB other than because of his name and he’s more expensive.

Bernardo is the far better choice as things stand.

Doesn’t really need much explaining. I think a lot of people think KDB is better because he’s almost 10m so it looks nice in their team.

      Here's how I'm lining up

      Foster, Ryan
      Robbo, Laporte, Kolasinac, Duffy, Valery
      Mane, Eriksen, Sterling, Jota, JWP
      Kane, Jimmy, Deeney

1.3m itb to bring in Lloris/Tripps next GW

There was an unexpected Knockaert bandwagon earlier in the season too, with him inexplicably even making it to the captain poll one week! It all ended in tears and I predict the same again.

Thoughts on the below? Leaves 1.1 ITB

      Lloris / Foster
      Robertson / Laporte / Kolasinac / Duffy / Valery
      Salah / Eriksen / Jota / Deulofeu / Hojberg
      Kane / Lacazette / Jimenez

Wanted to keep Vardy, but planned to do him to Jimenez next week, but it's more than possible Jimenez still out scores him this week anyway.

Questionable areas are Laporte, Deulofeu & maybe Hojberg. What could I do better?

      Alternatively:

      Ryan / Gunn
      Robertson / Kolasinac / Duffy / Valery / Bednarek
      Salah / Mané / Eriksen / Jota / Camarasa
      Kane / Lacazette / Jimenez

Could afford to wait two/three weeks, then do Duffy & Salah > Laporte & Sterling.

The most nailed currently premium assets in FPL are Salah, Kane, Hazard, Mane, Firmino, Eriksen, Vardy and Pogba (8.5+); Robertson, VVD, Azpi, Mendy, Luiz and Laporte (6.0+)

As we roll into dangerous rotation territory, with some of these having good SGW fixtures when other assets have mixed DGW fixtures... As well as good fixtures AFTER GW35...

Zinch is injured or would be recovering from injury, and Pep doesn't see LB as his natural position. Walker's injured, so Danilo has to play RB. Laporte is only called to LB when absolutely needed, as he's more needed as CB. The only competition at the moment for Mendy is his fitness... Which is, again, the definition of being nailed

We could wake up tomorrow and read that Mendy is injured again, of course

          See above

Mendy missed the whole of last season + World Cup with fitness issues, yet was never on the bench from GW1. Got injured, came back and started every EPL game again

Not sure what more we need to see to call a player nailed. Plus, when Mendy's out, Pep keeps saying "We don't have a left back", so every other player in that position is seen as a temporary fix. Hence his talk of searching for a new LB in the summer market

Genuine question, why do so many people have Sterling on WC?

Surely a chance he's rested next GW, then has a tough double-header of TOT/MUN between UCL.

Yes, City & goals, but he's not done tons post-IB, not the best record vs. TOT/MUN, whilst Salah/Mané have Cardiff in GW35.

I was orinally going to get sterling gw34 and switch to salah gw35.
But looking at the article above I think I will bring salah back in great fixtures and the chelsea game is 50/50 as regards result at least he starts

I was tinkering with drafts and breifly considered an arsenal treble defence.
Looks good on paper but logically with arsenals record and thier fixtures do not look all that nice - it is sort of the 'best of the rest' they are playing and a lot of them away as you say

Fixtures are tricky when you look at them in more detail. I think Kolasinac is enough arsenal defence. Not sure on Lacazette either as his away stats are noticeably poor compared to at home (half number of shots away compared to home)

I like it. I also have both Salah & Mané in a prospective draft.

City & Sterling etc are obviously great, but rotation & fixtures for City could be a nightmare. Pool on other hand have great fixtures (bar Chelsea) & less rotation options.

Feels strange to bet against Liverpool vs. Cardiff.

      Leno - Foster
      Trippier - Kolasinac - Valery - Bednarek - Bennett
      Sterling - Mane - Son - Bernardo - Mkhitaryan
      Kane - Jimenez - Deeney

Will have a defender and attacker from Brighton for DGW 34 and then swap them in GW 35 for BB. Thoughts please? 🙂

Don't think Bernardo wil be rotated in DGW 35. 2 huge games. Strongest team will be out on the park.

Mkhi performing well today may nail his place. Keeping a close eye on that.

      Thoughts on WC? BB 35
      Foster | Gunn
      Robertson | Dunk | Feminia | Bennett | Valery
      Sterling | Mane | Eriksen | Son | Hojberg
      Kane | Jiminez | Deeney

Is it worth going for KDB over Sterling and getting Jota for Hojberg or upgrading defense? Main desicion left after going Eriksen over Laca.

My new tactic I am considering is getting duffy/dunk for gw 34 then transferring them out for hit gw35.
In my head I think they should get 8 points (total) gw 34 but would be very foruntate to get 4 points (total) gw 35

I was thinking of getting watford defenders better potential of 12 points likely 6 points.

But my questions are which watford defenders are likely to start two games gw35? It looks a minefield
      Southampton are my second choice

      1. Pierce34
        • 8 Years

It is indeed a minefield. Holebas would be a great choice if nailed (and if he wasn't the league's most prolific collector of yellow cards!). I may, just may, punt on Kiko Femenia but I think only Foster can be fully trusted, which isn't ideal.

Getting them for their DGW, and then getting rid for a hit straight after sort of cancels out any advantage you might have got.

Well duffy and dunk could potentially get 12/8 points each in thier double gw34.
But look very shaky for gw35 likely to be 1's/2's/4's each gw35
So a minus 4 looks sound based on that logic?

What's weird is that he was nailed until he had this illness or minor injury or whatever it was. The same thing happened with Lacazette earlier in the season - missed a week because of a mild groin strain, then Emery sort of forgot about him for the next few weeks. I really wonder whether he actually literally forgets a player exists if he doesn't play for a week 😀
