Double Gameweek 35 audition for Wolves and Watford at Wembley

Everton v Arsenal was the only Premier League match to take place on Sunday, so attention now switches to the FA Cup semi-final between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Watford.

Both of these sides enjoy two fixtures in Double Gameweek 35 and several of their players will be very much in the minds of Fantasy managers as they prepare their squads for the season run-in.

There are three changes to the Wolves side that beat Manchester United in midweek but the team that lines up at Wembley is effectively Nuno Espirito Santo’s first-choice starting XI, save for the inclusion of cup goalkeeper John Ruddy over Rui Patricio.

Romain Saiss gets the nod over Ryan Bennett at centre-half, while Jonny returns at wing-back as Ruben Vinagre makes way.

Raul Jimenez and Diogo Jota resume their partnership up front, while Matt Doherty – owned by more than one in five FPL managers – lines up on the right flank.

Javi Gracia has made two changes to the team that beat Fulham on Tuesday, with Heurelho Gomes replacing Ben Foster as anticipated.

More noteworthy for Fantasy managers ahead of Gameweek 35 is the inclusion of Andre Gray over Gerard Deulofeu up front.

Gray set up two of the Hornets’ goals against the Cottagers in midweek and was talked up by fellow striker Troy Deeney in the club captain’s post-match interview.

Wolves XI (3-5-2): Ruddy, Saiss, Coady, Boly, Doherty, Dendoncker, Moutinho, Neves, Jonny, Jota, Jimenez.

Watford XI (4-4-2): Gomes, Kiko Femenía, Mariappa, Cathcart, Holebas, Hughes, Doucouré, Capoue, Pereyra, Deeney, Gray.

I've gone Laporte instead of Dunk and Ryan instead of Lloris.

With a view of Ryan -> Loris in GW35

Fairs. Prefer 35 transfer for an outfield player or maybe one of Brighton defenders. Laporte still may miss a few imo and not sure if City get cleansheet with tough fixtures. Solid picks though

Agree. I think it's why I prefer the look of no Ryan and instead, Duffy > Laporte in GW36/37.

Damn, I thought watching the game would make things much clearer to me, but it turns out the opposite.

Got Doherty already, but wanna upgrade Knockaert to Jota for GW35. Only way to afford that is to ditch Doherty for Jonny/Bennett on my Wildcard team. Bennett felt less of rotation risk than Jonny, but now Jonny's playing but not Bennett.

Also wanted to see how Deulofeu was doing, now he's benched. Should probably swap to Doucore, right? Looks like he's playing further up the field now. Also got Cathcart but would love Holebas for his unbelivable crosses, but can't trust him to start both games in DGW35.

    Halftime, Wolves lead.

Veey even until the goal, where the momentum shifted to Wolves. Great play from them, especiallly on the counter.
Watford had a late forray of attack, Coady denying them with a brilliant block.

Seriously considering not renewing FPL next season but I’m really on the fence, I obviously enjoy it but it can almost ruin my weekend and mood when things don’t go my way. And let’s be honest, you can’t always get the decisions right

Anyone else in a similar boat? I’m just sick of seeing casual players who put less effort into the game consistently do better

I've spent a lot less time dedicated to it over the past few years, and bad GWs don't affect my mood anymore. I recommend trying a casual season, where you play for fun and not for rank.

There were a few months when I hadn't even come on here. Sometimes I'd poke my head through the door. DGW season brought be back to make sense of it all.

Started to be a bit more active recently, but I'm a lot more relaxed with the game. I tend to just smile when things go horrendously. It's quite amusing.

I got bored of this game after just 1 regular season. It affected my mood as well since not all 50-50 decisions go your way. Thats why started to play with some kind of rules and restrictions to make it more fun.

Have tried a normal team this year after around 2-3 seasons. Will probably switch back to rules as it gets too easy to build a team which is boring.

Cheers been losing value getting rid of Pogba .5 Kun .3 & if I go Salah will lose .3 on Mané. Plan was always Salah back for 36.

But Pool have Cardiff in 35 🙂

    Doherty or Kola for WC34-BB35?

Feel insecure since Doherty is purely for Goal threat, Kola for Assist threat. In that case do Doherty? Expecting 0 clean sheets from Wolves.

I know there's recency bias. Looking for well-reasoned opinions.

Is trippier still nailed for DGW35 both games?

KWP floating about. Ideal game to rest Trippier in 34, might be the same vs Brighton.
