Hazard and Hudson-Odoi start for Chelsea as Higuain returns

The final match of Blank Gameweek 33 takes place this evening, as West Ham United make the short trip across London to face Chelsea. Kick-off at Stamford Bridge is at 20:00 BST.

Eden Hazard and Callum Hudson-Odoi keep their places in Maurizio Sarri’s starting XI and are joined in Chelsea’s front three by Gonzalo Higuain, who replaces the benched Olivier Giroud.

Given Chelsea’s congested fixture schedule and Sarri’s comments on Friday about “having to change”, there are perhaps not quite as many alterations as we anticipated to the Blues’ line-up.

Sarri’s only other change is an expected one, with Antonio Rudiger replacing Andreas Christensen at centre-half.

Pedro has recovered from injury to take his place among the substitutes alongside Christensen, Giroud, Willian, Ross Barkley and Mateo Kovacic.

There is no Marcos Alonso in the squad, with the Spanish left-back having been a doubt for this match after suffering a hamstring injury.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek has recovered from back and hamstring problems to start, however.

After the Hammers’ dismal display against Everton in Gameweek 32, there is perhaps no surprise that Manuel Pellegrini has made five changes to his starting XI.

Marko Arnautovic isn’t one of those changes, however, despite Javier Hernandez‘s return to the West Ham team.

Felipe Anderson and Ryan Fredericks have recovered from injury to start, while Fabian Balbuena is in the Hammers’ starting XI for the first time since December.

Mark Noble is also recalled as Issa Diop, Pablo Zabaleta, Robert Snodgrass, Pedro Obiang and Lucas Perez make way.

All bar Zabaleta of that quintet are among the substitutes tonight.

West Ham were the first team to prevent Hazard from registering an attacking return this season when the two clubs drew 0-0 in Gameweek 6.

The Belgian winger was the third-most-bought and third-most-captained Fantasy asset of Gameweek 33.

Noble is the only member of West Ham’s starting XI to score or assist an away goal this calendar year.

The Hammers are without a victory away from the London Stadium since December.

Chelsea, meanwhile, have kept clean sheets in seven of their last ten home league matches.

Chelsea XI: Arrizabalaga, Azpilicueta, Rudiger, Luiz, Emerson, Kante, Jorginho, Loftus-Cheek, Hudson-Odoi, Higuain, Hazard.

West Ham United XI: Fabianski, Fredericks, Balbuena, Ogbonna, Cresswell, Noble, Rice, Anderson, Lanzini, Arnautovic, Hernandez.

After 3 red arrows in a row 72 points on fh is very pleasing. My c was always gonna go on Salah so no real regrets not captaining hazard. Bring on the WC ! 🙂

75 without FH but I took a -4 and had taken hits in previous weeks to be ready.

A lot of players are better value than thier price indicates AND have a good chance of playing twice I will have 7.5m in the bank gw 34

Folk, am confused as to the calculations being made on point hits and overall points.

An opponent has taken a (-8) points hit. After last GW, he has an overall points of 1948. This GW, he has scored 67 points. By right, he should be on 2015.

LiveFPL is currently indicating he scored 2011 this GW post hit, meaning (-4) is only taken into the calculation. So, am not sure if this is a system calculation issue or what.

After 2015, minus 8 points, he should be on 2007.

That’s okay. I’ve used previous GWs stats to calculate that based on FPL GW history. FPL got it right on previous GWs. Maybe LiveFPL is still updating stuff onto it.

With 1 CS in the last 11 games, I'm not sure where you see the Leicester CS coming from against the reinvigorated Newcastle

Even the Palace CS against them was considered very lucky, as Castle kept heaping the pressure and created so many chances

Hope you all had a great GW!
Think I'm set for now on my WC looking to BB in GW 35. What do you think guys?

    Ryan
    TAA - Duffy - Doherty
    Hazard - Mane - Eriksen - Jota
    Kane - Vardy - Jiminez
    (Lloris - Deulofeu - Valery - Cathcart)

Vardy --> Lacazette for GW 35
Lacazette --> Aguero for GW 36.

Everyone has Sterling instead, who will most likely play 1 game, and it's one of Man Utd and Tottenham, I really don't get the appeal.

Sterling will start against Spurs and United - they are massive games and they want the title. Sterling is rested for the easier games - not the big ones. And if Chelsea lose to Liverpool and slip too far behind in the top 4 battle, Hazard may be a significant rotation risk too.

Yes it might be, but would like him for the rest of the games.

He will most likely do good. But could come around and bite me, but I don't know who I should pick instead. Son or Sterling?

I like that team most should play twice egw 35 except maybe Doherty/jImenez-deulofeu-cathcart (it is a bit of lottery on those starting two.
I would steet clear of arsenal awful away but at lacazette is not an arsenal defender.

Thanks, I saw how many in DGW32 only played 1 game I wont be surprised to see alot of DGW fails. So I'm trying to pick some I would want for the rest of the season.

I'm deffo not sure on Lacazette yet, Vardy might just become Aguero for DGW.

Need to asses after GW 34.

    A couple of quickies:

    1. If you already have Jimenez Jonny and Valery in your team, would you want Jota or JWP?

      1. If you think the teams have good fixtures for both attack and defence then double up. (I personally think the Wolves triple up is too much)

      2. More likely to be rotated but also sees more likely to get points when he plays on current form.

    BB 35 and TC 34 or 36
Or am I missing a better plan?

If you keep Vardy for GW34 (Newcastle) don't you may aswell keep him for GW35 (West Ham) ?

Vardy against a beached team is my GW35 sword pick vs wildcard teams. Keeping him until I sell him for Rashford in GW37

Was looking at Rashford for GW37 to replace him too.

What do you think about Firmino ?

Only 3 striker slots available. Got Robertson, Salah and Mane, Liverpool's top 3 FPL assets. Fine with that
Note: My 3 strikers are Barnes, Rondon and Vardy. Only TC left. Would go Rondon to Jimenez (TC) in GW35 and bench Barnes, as well as a few other transfers

So I'm quite different from the wildcard comments here 😀

Firmino just feels wrongly placed this season, with what budget options are doing in his position and other Liverpool assets are doing in other positions. Been without him all season. Very likely to continue

Good option/headache to have. Would swap to Laca if I know he starts both games

I feel like Laca is a trap, but I'm surely influenced by GW33 results.

So I wanted to tinker with what was possible on WC with Kane, Kun, Salah and still not look terrible overall. What do you think of this for exact cash?

    Lloris, Foster
    TAA, Duffy, Dunk, Boly, Valery
    Salah, Eriksen, Jota, JWP, Deulo
    Kane, Kun, Jimi

Salah isn’t getting bonus points, unless you captain him I’d rather spend elsewhere and own Mane

My current draft has Mané and is much more template (I.e Deeney up top and Sterling instead of JWP). Just feel nervous about Sterling being much more likely to be rotated/ rested. Also have a gut feel Salah is about to overtake Mané in form terms

Boly, expecting cs or attacking points? It is okayish but is Salah better pick than Mane+money?

Not sure tbh! All my drafts until now have been relatively template with Sterling and Deeney rather than Kun and JWP but just unsure if they are the right picks.

anyone else actually going without city at all ?
huge fixtures, no easy games yet, definite rotation esp if game tomorrow leaves the tie in the balance.

same goes for spurs i suppose but less likely to be rotated by poch

I’m actually considering it. Fixtures are bad. Palace are their bogey team. Spurs won’t be easy and United away is a derby.

Considered it, but they will score goals so it's just guessing who. I'd rather pick one and accept the rotation than go without.
