FPL Question Time – Consult our panel after Kane injury

The Fantasy Premier League community is now full of questions concerning one man: Harry Kane (£12.5m).

The Tottenham forward was taken off with a serious-looking injury in Tuesday night’s Champions League win over Manchester City.

He had become the staple of many a Wildcard draft in recent days, but is now unlikely to play in Double Gameweek 34.

That has left Fantasy managers wondering what to do with the spare cash.

Thankfully, we’ve assembled another panel for you to consult in Question Time.

Who’s on the panel this week?

Simon March – Fantasy Premier League champion in 2014/15 and regular guest on the FPL Show.

Ben McNair – One of Australia’s finest Fantasy minds, with four finishes inside the top 5k.

Holly Shand – Founder of Fantasy Football Community and regular guest on the FPL Show.

Son limping at the end not worrying anyone, when down injured with a calf problem near the end but battled on as his style, got to be a doubt for the weekend though?

Think it was cramp, don't blame him since he spent most of the game pressing.

I'm contemplating getting Llorente in and playing him this coming GW and perhaps bench him the following one. Would allow me funds to get Salah in Vs. Hudds. Thoughts?

    Thanks.

Can see Llorente playing against Hudds and Brighton, but not Man City in DGW35.

Alli wouldn’t effect Son playing though. Been playing deep in mid in recent times. Spurs have replacements there. Moura/Llorente can slip in for Kane/Son. I don’t know just a thought.

Ruined it completely! Was finally settled on my WC-team and had worked on it for almost a month. Don't have a clue what to do now, but looks like a Sterling/Aguero and Eriksen/Son doubble-up, which I really don't fancy due to rotation.

Maybe just Kane ➡ Aguero and run with it but I still have a few spots up for grabs so I guess I'll see what the press conferences reveal. Rotation is definitely going to bite a lot of our teams...

Have Eriksen & Son pretty much locked in.

Not convinced on Lloris as I like the "save point" combination of Ryan & Foster.

Trippier possibly but think Walker-Peters might play this weekend if Aurier not fit.

So might just end up with those two midfielders. They get 2pts between them if clean sheet occurs anyway so there's a bit of "coverage" there for the defence.

      1. Flynny
        • 9 Years

        I'll have son and eriksen.

Also getting vertonghen as think more nailed than trippier.

Stuck on kane replacement. Vardy (moving to laca 35) kun and lukaku options I'm looking at.

Lukaku is the one I'm most interested in

Eriksen was nailed in my WC team alongside Kane anyway. His stats are crazy!

Son now nailed too and possibly my go to captain choice for the remainder of the season.

Looking at 'downgrading' Kane to Aguero (that felt weird to type!). However could also consider a cheaper forward and invest more at the back. I've not yet removed Vardy so I could keep him even though he has no double. I don't really like his 37/38 fixtures (Arsenal at home in 26 is great!), but it could be an easy move to Rashford in 37 for Huddersfield and Cardiff.

If I opt for Aguero then I only have 4.3 for my last defender. Any thoughts on the best option in this bracket? I'm considering a Bennett / Doherty double up, a Yoshida / Valery double up, or a Femnia / Foster double up???

    Vardy - Jimenez - Murray

after that I go for this:
    - GW35: Murray + Duffy ➡ Deeney + Valery (-4)
    - GW36: Vardy ➡ Firmino

I know planning a -4 already while on WC isn't ideal, though I like the look of it
    Thoughts..?

Just do Murray to Troy now?

Looks really good! You just gave me the idea to do Lloris + Foster and Dunk + Duffy instead of Lloris + Ryan and Duffy + Cathcart. That would allow me to play Lloris against Hudds, and still get two Brighton defenders. Thanks!

Can the Murray move. At his age I don't think he will start both games and Deeney could easily get points against Arsenal.

With Kane more than likely out... I'm thinking of a gamble on Auba (Aguero & Jiminez are my other forwards)… Yay or Nay?

Aubameyang was nailed in my WC team until his last couple of benchings. If he starts then he's a great choice imo.

I'll be honest, I'm not going to think about it too much until Friday - made a 5 minute draft at the start of the week (with Auba in it) and I'll tinker with it on Friday afternoon once all the press conferences are done. Not had a good season so the stakes are low which means I might just go for him regardless of risk 🙂

tbh I just prefer Auba & have 1 of those feelings he'll find form for the end of season

Can anyone convince me of the KDB pick?
Haven't really followed his progress of late. Probably plan to keep Kun and having him and Sterling obviously takes its toll.

I am on KDB at the minute. Seems to be rested every 3rd or 4th game, but one of those was last night so hopefully good for the next few.

Starting to show that player of the year quality again and looks almost assured of a start against Palace. I myself am very tempted but Sterling is a massive shield. If you’re leading your ML there’s no need to get KDB just yet.

Murray. I’ve barely watched him but he seems to be capable of a few nice surprises, has two great home fixtures this GW against poor defences. Will he delight or disappoint?

I can put together (what I think is) a lovely looking team with him, with the plan to shift to Deeney for BB35

    0.9itb
    Lloris, Foster
    Robbo, Laporte, Duffy, Dunk, Valery
    Salah, Eriksen, Son, Jota, JWP
    Aguero, Jimi, Murray

Other options are Vardy (which means weakening my defence quite a lot) or just going Deeney now.

    Thoughts appreciated!

      Same question.
      Check above bro.
      I'm also thinking about

      Vardy © this gw
      Vardy >> Deeney (35)
      Deeney >> Bobby (36)

      What do you think ??

I think it could def work out.

Bobby “could” be an incredible differential. But could obv fall flat

I’m pretty convinced I want to go with Salah and then get either Bobby or Mané to join him for GW36

I’m thinking the same mate. RMT has him in for a decent score this GW! Just one goal, some bonus and appearance points and I would be content

Think it's madness that so many are ignoring Rashford. 7.5 for a nailed on striker in a top 6 team fighting for CL? He's certainly better than Deeney.

Eh, so could lots of players from top 6 teams. Rotation will happen but that's why we have a decent bench. Less painful a 7.5m player being benched too than a 9.5+m player.

It's the form that I'm concerned about. Both Rash and the team as a whole.
