FPL Question Time – Consult our panel after Kane injury

The Fantasy Premier League community is now full of questions concerning one man: Harry Kane (£12.5m).

The Tottenham forward was taken off with a serious-looking injury in Tuesday night’s Champions League win over Manchester City.

He had become the staple of many a Wildcard draft in recent days, but is now unlikely to play in Double Gameweek 34.

That has left Fantasy managers wondering what to do with the spare cash.

Thankfully, we’ve assembled another panel for you to consult in Question Time.

Who’s on the panel this week?

Simon March – Fantasy Premier League champion in 2014/15 and regular guest on the FPL Show.

Ben McNair – One of Australia’s finest Fantasy minds, with four finishes inside the top 5k.

Holly Shand – Founder of Fantasy Football Community and regular guest on the FPL Show.

I think you are safe, nearly everyone will have had triple Liverpool for gw33. Most will have a defender (or two), mane or salah (maybe both). Very few have space to bring him in, and wildcards don’t count.

Here's next attept. Any opinions more than welcome!

    Lloris - Foster
    Duffy - Dunk - Doherty - Jonny - Valery
    Sterling - Eriksen - Son - Mane - Knockaert
    Aguero - Deeney - Jimenez

Knockart will be Deulofeu for GW35. I know doubble Brighton and Wolves defence isn't ideal, but that's the only way I can get a Spurs defender playing this week.

I think the defence is too cheap. Outside the doubles it will struggle. I’d do sterling > KDB & kiko or Valery > Laporte

    Cheeky RMT 🙂

    Lloris, Foster
    Laporte, TAA, Duffy, Dunk, Valery
    Mane, Son, Eriksen, KdB, Jota
    Aguero, Jimenez, Deeney

    Thoughts?

    (Dunk becomes Jonny for GW35)

Jonny is a very poor mans doherty though, I’d be tempted to do Jota > JWP so you could move to Doherty GW35

    GW34:

    Vardy (C), Deeney, Jiminez

    GW35 Vardy to Lacazette

So whats the consensus on city assests? Sterling likely to be benched again palace? What about Kun? Sane or De Bruyne short term options with a potential switch to Mane?

Kun can easily be rested for Spurs return CL fixture, however he did come off early last night. I'm not sure if Pep will trust Jesus up front against Palace away which is another must win game. I personally think Kun starts at the weekend and subbed early as possible if City are leading.

        Yea I agree
Palace beat city once already and winning this game to get momentum back is just as inputs a fully rested Kun.

I guess you'd have someone on the bench who could cover a no-show though? So not end of the world, but you want him playing. Especially those easy home games.

Every time I put him in the draft, I feel queasy! So am avoiding.

Can definitely see Poch resting Tripos and KWP starting especially after he tweaked something last night in his groin area. I think Lloris is a safe bet to tap into Spurs defence.

Do we think Kun starts Palace? Or gets saved for Spurs, Spurs, United after that?

    Especially coming off an injury.

Yeah... dunno why people are making such a big deal about the injury when it was a short term one.

Pep rates Palace quite highly and City already got beat to them earlier in the season - he's going to want to make sure that doesn't happen again and that means playing a relatively strong team of which Aguero will be a part of.

I suspect he'll have his minutes managed for the next few games with 60 every time but playing every one.

Pretty set on rest of my team, just 3 places I'm unsure about.

    On a WC

    Lloris / Foster
    TAA / Duffy / Valery / Laporte / Dunk
    Jota / Son / Eriksen / Sterling / Mané
    ??? / Jiménez / Deeney

Could do Son/Eriksen > Doucouré and Get Aguero but worried about rotation risks.

Other options for the forward? 9.9m ITB

200th RMT...it appears I have a terrible TV. Currently 11k, hoping for 10k so don't mind being overly template. On WC:

    Lloris/Ryan
    TAA/Dunk/Duffy/Bednarek/Bennett
    Sterling/Mane/Son/Eriksen/Ward-Prowse
    Aguero/Deeney/Jimmy

Yup. Seems insane, but he'll be first choice for the rest of the season. He'll get 6 points against Hudders but Ryan will get minimum 4, upside of 12. Worth a punt.

It's so template it hurts but I think it's a goer

    2. Alpharius
      • 5 Years

I’d downgrade Sterling to KDB to upgrade the defence
After gw35 TAA could start to be a rotation risk and you’ll get little out of the others without any great equal value transfer options.

Lowish TV, so had to make some sacrifices, thoughts:

    Ryan - Foster

    Mane - Sterling - Son - Eriksen - Jota

    Jimenez - Deeney - Aguero

With HK out have had to re-jig the WC and came up with this, leaving 0.3 ITB

No transfer plans as that will depend on further injuries etc., if nothing happens, then more than likely trade out one of the Brighton defence Wk 35

    Ryan (Gunn)
Dunk Duffy(c) Robbo (Valery & Doherty)
    Son Eriksen KDB Mane Salah
    Vardy Llorente (Jimenez)

I figure Llorente probably nailed v Huddersfield and see how he goes from there - a good performance may see him figure in quite a few of the remaining Spurs games.
