FFS Cup

The latest FFS Cup results and fixtures

The latest round of the FFS Cup wittled down our selection of moderators left in the competition.

Blank Gameweek 33 proved costly to G-Whizz, whose score of 58 was beaten by Insanity Later‘s 75.

That denied us the chance to see a Moderator Derby in the sixth round, although Rotation’s Alter Ego still made it through unscathed.

He saw off sirangepostapoosalot by a 85-81 scoreline.

Ranked the highest in round five, at 332 in the world, HPCAMPBELL secured passage to the last 16 with an 83-55 win over Yasar Khan.

Fellow high-flyer Lal Toofan, ranked 639, beat pkalogirou by just one point in an 80-79 victory and is now set for a showdown with Rotation’s Alter Ego.

Vulken is the lowest ranked remaining competitor, currently at 851,620th worldwide.

    Anyone considering Ben Davies?

At least the Davies/Rose situation is easier to work out than Trippier/Aurier/KWP (pending on Aurier injury news)...

What are peoples thoughts on KDB?

Played 3 games last week and was benched in the UCL. A goal against Fulham followed by an assist against Brighton in the FA cup. He's clearly 100% fit now and wasn't involved last night because Pep stated that he wanted to play two defensive minded DM's in the midfield which makes sense since it was an away leg in the UCL. I can see him starting most games in the near future. You guys considering him?

    1. Mr Bird
      • 5 Years
      5 years, 17 days ago

I am... he’s probably the least likely to see rotation in the remaining league games and most of City’s attacks come from him so you’re looking at a steady stream of points

People going triple Brighton def on WC and BBing in dgw35, aren't y'all concerned about Brighton's dgw35 fixtures?

Ryan, Duffy and Dunk could easily have a combined score of 3 if they concede twice, which looks very likely with them having to play Wolves and Spurs both away.

An alternate plan would be getting Lloris in goal who could easily match/outscore Ryan in dgw34; and have Duffy and Dunk as your Brighton def assets for dgw34.

This would allow you having Lloris as a set and forget gk for the entire season plus better points potential in dgw35; and Dunk could be transferred out to a City/Wolves def with your FT in dgw35.

    Thoughts?

Yes but you can have Duffy and Dunk and have Lloris instead of Ryan is what I'm saying.

Lloris could easily match/outscore Ryan in 34.

Ryan and Foster have awful fixtures outside the dgws, thus Lloris again gets the nod as a set and forget season keeper

I mean clearly they should be but lots of people like to live for the moment (gw34) and will deal with GW35 when they get there.

Plus if Brighton defence does really well this week then even if they do badly in 35 it will still have worked out well

But what I meant was having the same plan but Lloris instead of Ryan in 34.

Lloris could easily match/outscore Ryan in 34.

Ryan and Foster have awful fixtures outside the dgws, thus Lloris again gets the nod as a set and forget season keeper

1 less Brighton problem to deal with in 35

I think I'm now looking at that Lloris plan. I want a Spurs defender for what I see as 3 good CS opportunities in the next 4, but worry about rotation risks for the other options.

I'm going with Lloris in goal, along with Duffy and Dunk.

One of the Brighton's will make way for Kolasinac/Doherty/other better DGW35 option

Also debating going with Vardy this wk over Aguero and switching back to Aguero for next wk. Good move? Would be nice to have 2 FTs going into GW36 though.

    Ryan – Foster
    Robertson – Duffy – Doherty – Valery – Bednarek
    Sterling – Mane – Son – Eriksen – Jota
    Aguero – Jimenez – Deeney

I like it - anyone of stretching it for Ryan & Doherty - Lloris and dunk? Just feel spurs will be tight at the back for the stretch now.

Thanks. Would be 0.4 short of that. Other options to get Lloris in without touching the midfield/forwards would be the following. Which of the 3 defences do you think is best? Not sure if it's wise to triple up on Brighton

        Lloris - Ryan
        TAA - Duffy - Dunk - Doherty - Valery

        Lloris - Foster
        TAA - Duffy - Dunk - Jonny - Valery

I think this Kane injury is very good news for those early wildcarders who probably still have the likes of Wilson, King, Fraser, Hazard, Richarlison in their teams from the blanks. Whilst we scramble around trying to spend our excess cash, they'll probably watch Richarlison/Digne haul this weekend at Fulham, and then in the double the Bournemouth lads have Fulham at home and Hazard faces Burnley. All the while, we're looking to bring in players like Sterling/Aguero/Jota/Deulofeu who might only play once anyway. I think trying to force your team to have 14/15 DGW players could be quite folly. I'm certainly wary of a ML rival who has Digne, Wilson, Hazard.

Possibly 🙂 hoping. I was looking to double Spurs (Kane & Son) and take Hazard and Vardy out. After Kane injury I decide to drop out-of-form Fraser for Son. Might be a blessing in disguise, Hazard has scored well against Pool and Vardy is in form as well.

Only worry with early Wildcard and doing Kun to Vardy last weekend, I have no City attack rn

    If you have two players:

    What now?
    1) Double City attack? rotation risks especially Sterling this week
    2) Double Spurs mids? will they be as free flowing without Kane?
    3) Robbo or TAA?
    4) Salah even Hazard back in?

Rashford seems like first choice when fit. For 3.3m less.
