Brighton’s FPL players assessed ahead of their Double Gameweeks

Brighton and Hove Albion are the only club with four Premier League fixtures across Gameweeks 34 and 35, with their first “double-header” undoubtedly their most enticing from a Fantasy perspective.

Bournemouth and Cardiff City are the visitors to the Amex Stadium in Gameweek 34 before the Seagulls face two less-appealing away fixtures at Wolverhampton Wanderers and Tottenham Hotspur in Gameweek 35.

Brighton assets will obviously be more popular than usual going into this Friday’s deadline, then, so it is worth exploring some of the Seagulls’ underlying statistics to separate the wheat from the chaff.

Our Members’ piece below looks at both attacking and defensive options in Chris Hughton’s side and studies Albion’s team numbers as a whole.

Now that we are past the halfway stage of the season, memberships are available for just £10 and can be bought by clicking HERE.

      I'd go A with Laporte...

I doubt Trippier will start this w/e, had a niggle.. and Spurs dont have any reputable available FB
if he played vs Hudds, and aggrevated the injury..

That's the problem with wildcarding with current information - do you want your team to be good for GW34 only, or longer-term but potentially sacrifice some GW34 nailed-onness?

Has anyone else been gradually shedding 0.1s this week. Was Rashford over the threshold to drop on FPL statistics, I had a quick check after the game and hadn't noticed he was close. It's really irritating!

    Thoughts on this WC team?

    Ryan
    Robbo Trippier Duffy
    Son Eriksen Sterling Jota
    Vardy Jimenez Laca

    Foster / Doherty JWP Valery
    2.1ITB

    Gives 13 DGW35ers for BB plus robbo+vardy.

    Could easily go Laca+JWP -> Kun+Hojbjerg

Can't wait to TC Auba in GW35. The kind of punt this game is made for. No one's getting him because of all the money tied up in BB and his rotation threat.

    1. Pierce34
      • 8 Years
      5 years, 10 days ago

I can't believe he's not in more WC teams to be honest, he's one of the most explosive players out there (and was one of a select few that didn't flop in last year's big DGW as well).

      1. fedolefan
        • 9 Years
        5 years, 10 days ago

More WC teams? Is he in any WC team? I don't see how a WC team fits him in though with all the BB nonsense to accommodate for. It's not like people can spare 3-4m to transfer him in GW35 unless one of the big guys get injured too. It's just going to be such a massive massive diff.

        1. E25
          • 8 Years
          5 years, 10 days ago

Big diff if you're chasing. Otherwise surely its laca out of the two...

Sacrificing elsewhere in your squad for a risky differential... why would you do that unless chasing (in a ML or a big rank rise)

                • 8 Years
                5 years, 10 days ago

Is he a very big risk? Second among forwards in FPL points, third in golden boot race, and judging by comments about Aguero's nailed-ness, Aubameyang isn't any less nailed than that.

                1. E25
                  • 8 Years
                  5 years, 10 days ago

He's a good differential pick. But 2 goals 1 assist in last 8GWs and barely starting any games... I'd rather Laca with 4 goals 3 assists over that time (and a lot more starts/mins) for 1.5m less personally.
                  FWIW don't love either option.

I'm not sure if I prefer Lacazette, and I say that as one of Lacazette's biggest fans here! 😀

It's just that Aubameyang is so much more explosive.

Check away goals scored and Arsenal are near the top - they don't have to win their away games, all we need is for their forwards to score goals, and I think they will.

Arsenal's last 6 away include City, Liverpool and Tottenham (as well as Everton who also kept Liverpool at bay recently). Their next few away are against defences that don't do clean sheets.

Indeed, it would be great if we didn't have that doubt, but I'm willing to take the risk for three reasons:

        1) Big potential upside when they start since they know how to score

        2) Even if they don't start, they're more than capable of scoring or assisting off the bench (Auba's biggest FPL haul was from the bench this year)

        3) Can you honestly say other top DGW targets are rotation-proof? Not Aguero or any other City asset. Not Son, judging by comments here today.

    I think I got it.

    Ryan - Leno
    Trippier - Duffy - Doherty - TAA - Valery
    Sterling - Mane - Son - Eriksen - JWP
    Murray - Aguero - Jimenez

    Murray --> Deeney in 35.

Got 0.0 ITB so other choices are Gunn or Foster.

Foster can easy be a better choice but I like the chances of Leno. In GW36 when they have Lei away I can play Ryan with Newcastle at home.

They are poor away though and have 2 out of the next 3 on the road, and home to Palace is not straightforward. Trippier is not nailed and injury prone. I would get Lloris and swap him for someone else.

the point of WC this week is to play BB next week. But if you have no BB, you may TC this week and WC next week.

    Lloris Gunn
    TAA Kola Doherty Duffy Valery
    Sterling Pogba Son Doucoure Oriol
    Aguero Laca Jimenez

There are not many people will interest with my team but at least I still have differential with Laca+Pogba and I will have 2 FTs to get Salah+Milivo on 36.

Should I make any moves here? Already on a -4 and have Kane sadly

    Schmeichel - (Foster)
VVD - Pereira - Duffy - (Wan Bas - Lascelles)
    Salah(v) - Mane - Westwood - Hazard - (Fraser)
    Rondon - Jimenez - Kane(c)

Best option is to probably just player Fraser over Kane for GW34?

Decent bench for this week so definitely play Fraser (in fact Fraser should've been ahead of Westwood in any case!). You can sort out Kane with a hit next week.

Hmmm Westwood is in form and Burnley need points badly. Fraser has a decent fixture too though

It's a moot point anyway since you'll play both but Fraser is by far the more creative and better FPL asset of the two, even if Bournemouth are in a slump.

Yeh he can. Kun is amazing, im just cautious given his recent injury and his schedule.

There still hasn't been an official announcement on Kane right? It just looks bad but there's a chance it's not as bad as we think?

Thinking to go slightly diff without Man C attackers due to rotation..will be a late decision btwn kun/hojbjerg or auba/knockaert..

    Ryan (leno)
    Robbo laporte duffy (doherty valery)
    Salah eriksen son knockaert (jota)
    Auba vardy jimenez

Im surprised to see so little teams with camarasa . cardiff has a dw , ok 2 away games but they are 5 points behind southampton and birghton and fighting against relegation., I rekon they know if they dont score points during that GW its guarantee relegation. Brighton - I think -is in a tic safer situation despite tough end season fixtures

I cant really see a 0-0 happening in the brighton. - cardiff game

For those who thinking to triple up on brighton defense I d be worry . I d rather have murray ( if he plays) and camarasa than 3 brighton defenders.

The problem is they don't score many goals and it's a guaranteed transfer for GW35 with a risk of a hit if an injury occurs elsewhere. I am considering him though.

I think it's largely down to owning him in 34 creates a benching headache in most teams AND means you need to burn a transfer getting him out for 35

This. I considered him for a long time but decided no.

Will give you a benching headache in 34 and expect him to score 6.5 points on avg, only 2.5 more points more expected than your bench player.

In 35 they have Liv (A) and v likely a 2 pointer. Most 5th mid bench options are going to exceed that by 3-6 points - making up for the lost points in GW35. You could transfer him out but it's not really a transfer you want to be making - other things could crop up and 2 transfers in 36 could be v useful even if nothing crops up. Many people already even have other transfer plans for 35 too.

I am.planning to have Jota/deeney as my 7th/8th attacker. Looking at fixtures jota will only play in 35 (double) and 37 (FUL). Is he worth it 1m more than lets say jwp?

He is more explosive than JWP for sure. Depends on what you do with the extra money. I am going Jota as my 5th mid as fund allows, but will him or Deeney after 35 for a fodder to upgrade elsewhere.

I cant understand it either. Rotation threat, injury prone with a lot of games in quick succession, Lloris a cheaper, 100% nailed option.

Are you considering any Arsenal/MUN attacker’s on WC? If not, why? If so, who?

Maybe not the most enticing DGWs but DGWs nonetheless, and good closing fixtures too. Kinda tempted to hang onto Pogba, and Pierce34 got me considering an Arsenal fwd in for Vardy next week rather than Aguero (will have Sterling)

Getting only Laca from Arsenal for 34,35,36.
No United as fixture is very bad and mediocre form.
But Planning to do Laca to Lukaku ahead of 37 for Huddersfield, Cardiff. You need a united asset only for the last two fixtures.

I think hanging on to Pogba is not as foolish as some in here would make out, especially if you got him cheap. I got him at 7.8 and was extremely reluctant to lose him, but in the end he just didnt fit my team structure. Other than him I would avoid Ars / Mun.

Uh-oh, really hope it doesn't go wrong now! I was just trying to provide some balance and perspective to Kiwivillan's comments. But yeah, in any case I'm definitely putting my (FPL) money where my mouth is and getting at least one of Laca/Auba.

I have been turned off Kolasinac though.
