How Kane injury affects best midfield options for second Wildcards this weekend

Fantasy Premier League managers now have plenty of money to spend on their midfield for their second Wildcards.

With an injury to Harry Kane (£12.6m) and Mohamed Salah (£13.2m) still not really cutting it, there’s an opportunity to go for some truly pragmatic picks in this position between now and the end of the season.

We’ve taken a look at what impact Kane’s absence will have on his array of midfield colleagues, before going into detail to find the best options from all clubs in this position.

As this article uses extensive data from the Fantasy Football Scout Members’ Area, only members themselves can read on and enjoy the analysis.

Now that we are past the half-way stage, memberships are now available for just £10, so make sure you get the most of it while you can by signing up HERE.

What effect does Kane injury have on Spurs assets?

Camarasa a real option this week, not seeing him in many teams with a double coming up?

Cardiff aren't great. Two away fixtures against teams who need to beat them as they are also in the relegation fight. Terrible GW35 fixture so not great for a BB.

Takes up a valuable midfield spot and ties up a FT, unless you want him in 35.

Not sure his upside is worth it.

Why is everyone taking haz out? And taking Salah out instead of mane for son a good move?

      Fixtures over form...

Unfortunately Haz has the hardest away fixture, despite his form.

    Still tinkering!
Is there any merit in front 8 of
    Sterling KDB Eriksen Son Jota
    Aguero Jimenez Deeney

Then in week 36 flexibility to get either Mané or Salah for Sterling/KDB depending on form? Or not good plan to have no Liverpool attack for 34/5

Haven't seen much of a Ryan (C) talk

    + gets save points
+ less likely to get a yellow card
    - can't score

he should be just as good a captain candidate as Duffy right?

    1. diesel001
      • 7 Years

Duffy has a slightly lower floor, but a much higher ceiling. You are basically relying on a pen save from Ryan - which is possible, but less likely than a Duffy goal.

    2. tucaoneo
      • 5 Years

Not really. Duffy's goal threat is quite good even among all defenders.

    3. ZeBestee

Yeah he is very little below Duffy. Gets lots of save points and when they keep a CS, he is the very first to get bonus.

Would you be tempted to keep a whopping 3.6m ITB on wildcard to make more informed (probably) decisions leading right into BB35?

For example, knowing if City are out of UCL etc.

Quite happy with my team for this week and the general WC BB team structure, that's why I ask...

    Lloris Foster
    Robertson Duffy(vc) Laporte Dooherty (Valery)
    Sterling Mane Son(c) Pogba (Hojbjerg)
    Vardy Jimenez (Deeney)

Definitely. I’ve got more than double that amount with 7.7m in the bank for Camarasa and Vardy upgrades.

      Lloris Foster
      Robertson Valery Duffy Dunk Kolasinac
      Hazard Eriksen Son JWP Camarasa
      Vardy Jimenez Deeney

Yep looking at 4.9. I can play son Erik moura v Hudd and change up to salah/sterling/kun maybe even Haz when more info arrives. May even take a hit as it will be a high scoring gw anyway

    Ryan Gunn
    Duffy Valery Trent laporte AWB

    0.5 ITB

    WC Draft II
    Ryan Gunn
    Duffy Vertonghen Trent Valery Jonny
    Eriksen KdB Sterling Son JWP
    Aguero Jimenez Deeney

1.8 ITB for Sterling to Salah GW 35

Plan to do Son -> Eriksen and can make 0.1 if son goes up and erkison doesnt. If erkson goes up and son doesnt I cant make the move... if they both go up it doesnt matter.

When they are away from home the opposition play higher up the pitch, are more up for the fight and put more pressure on the ball.

It sounds marginal, but it makes a difference.

    Sterling/Salah/Eriksen/jota
    (hojbjerg)

    Kun/Vardy/Jimenez
