How Kane injury affects best midfield options for second Wildcards this weekend

Fantasy Premier League managers now have plenty of money to spend on their midfield for their second Wildcards.

With an injury to Harry Kane (£12.6m) and Mohamed Salah (£13.2m) still not really cutting it, there’s an opportunity to go for some truly pragmatic picks in this position between now and the end of the season.

We’ve taken a look at what impact Kane’s absence will have on his array of midfield colleagues, before going into detail to find the best options from all clubs in this position.

As this article uses extensive data from the Fantasy Football Scout Members’ Area, only members themselves can read on and enjoy the analysis.

Now that we are past the half-way stage, memberships are now available for just £10, so make sure you get the most of it while you can by signing up HERE.

What effect does Kane injury have on Spurs assets?

    Ryan

    Duffy Robbo Digne

    Salah Hazard Pogba McNeill

    Vardy Jimmy Wilson

    Subs Dubravka TAA Almiron AWB

My one FT was to bring in Duffy so any more changes will cost me points.

I am 40 odd points clear in ML but he will play WC this week and BB following week. I will play BB same week as him.

Worry is he will go heavy on City and probably Spurs.

Question is should I hold tight or take a hit?

    All responses very welcome. Thanks.

    Finally there on the wildcard.

    GK Lloris, Foster
DEF Duffy, Dunk, Kola, Doherty, Valery
MID Sterling, Son, Mane, Eriksson, JWP
    FWD Aguero, Vardy, Jiminez

This crucially leaves .5 in bank

GW35 Vardy to Lacazette or Deeney

GW36 Lacazette/Deeney to Firminio, Doherty to TAA

    Looking set?

    Thanks

      B, but mostly because I don't like A/C.

Tough between A/B. Rondon hasn't been great on the road lately, but Doherty has failed to flatter too.

I was just messing, Hughes is an interesting pick. Not sure i'd want him or Deeney after the double, seems like a transfer waiting to happen when only have 4FTs left.

    A) Lloris, Dunk
    B) Ryan, Vertongen

Feel A is more likely to start all games, just a bit inclined to avoid spending to much on keepers.

Also, other keeper is Foster, so Lloris is a better pick than Ryan for the rest of the season.

Anyone else think that TAA might be a better option over Robertson regardless of price?

Is the extra 1.0m on Robertson essentially to guarantee against rotation?

    1. The Tinkerman
      • 8 Years

That, and him being the best attacking defender in the game.

Statistically TAA is the best choice. If I'm spending 5.5m to 6.5m on a Liverpool defender, I just really want them to at least start.

      Robbo gives that. TAA doesn't.

I think TAA still plays most games. Misses 1-2 absolute max. But it's a question of when.

I'd go A but I'd prefer to see more DGW players with Brighton having two decent looking home fixtures. (If this is a WC team of course.) You could change Foster to Ryan and JWP to Knockaert for example.

    Ryan (Patricio)

      I wouldn't plan a -4.

What if someone else gets injured, you'll want to replace them too. Then it's -8 after a WC.

Just get Deeney now if you want him for GW35

    Lloris, Ryan
    Holebas, Duffy, Alexander-Arnold, Valery, Doherty
    Son, Eriksen, Sterling, Mané, Ward-Prowse
    Deeney, Lukaku, Jiminez

1.0 in the bank. Lukaku to Firmino gameweek 35.

Rip it to bits. I can't think any more.

I had Foster and Trippier but switched because I fear Trippier getting benched against Huddersfield. I suppose I could just go Alderweireld or Verthongen for security. It also means I'm not trying to decide whether to play Ryan or Lloris this week.
