Son and Trippier benched as Eriksen starts for Spurs

Son Heung-min (£8.7m) and Kieran Trippier (£6.0m) are among the benched players for Spurs in their Double Gameweek 34 fixture.

With already-relegated Huddersfield coming to north London, Mauricio Pochettino has taken this opportunity to start Fernando Llorente (£5.1m) and Kyle Walker-Peters (£4.2m) in their place.

Christian Eriksen (£9.3m) has held onto his place in the side and without Trippier should have a greater involvement in set pieces.

Also, with Son on the bench and Harry Kane (£12.6m) injured, it is possible the Danish international could be taking the penalties too.

Ben Davies (£5.6m) comes in for Danny Rose (£5.8m) at left-back, while Juan Foyth (£5.0m) starts alongside Jan Vertonghen (£5.9m) and Davinson Sánchez (£5.8m) so that Toby Alderweireld (£6.0m) can have a rest on the bench.

Huddersfield have lined themselves up in a 4-5-1 formation with Karlan Grant (£5.0m) leading the line. He has two goals in his last two away trips.

Chris Löwe (£4.4m) and Jon Stankovic (£3.9m) are both playing out of position in midfield.

Spurs XI: Lloris, Walker-Peters, Sanchez, Vertonghen, Foyth, Davies, Sissoko, Eriksen, Moura, Wanyama, Llorente

Huddersfield XI: Hamer; Durm, Kongolo, Schindler, Hadergjonaj; Löwe, Stankovic, Hogg, Bacuna, Kachunga; Grant.

It lowers the skill aspect of the game a bit, but the game would be less fun without it.

Why do you think it lowers the skill aspect?

I agree with the sentiment. Choosing fixtures and captaining good players against weak sides, planning for stalemates and looking for cheap enablers to allow big guns, all ties into captain tactics. Go deep.

Picking a good captain against Huddersfield every week this season would have been quite easy. Almost every week the team playing them had 'atypical' captain scores including Kane and Hazard brace, Aguero Hatrick and goals from Richalison, Lacazette, Rondon, Zaha, Mili, Wilson etc etc.

          Maybe change your mindset?

My rival has a poor team and has just put the captains armband on Kun or Salah all season. Pretty much got it right every week. I’m having a poor season but his team is awful compared to mine (bar getting the Captain right each week). I think there is a lot of luck in captains

Ditto. My ML rival is 203 points ahead of me for captains but only 45 ahead.

Because picking players for a set for fixtures, like 3-4 fixtures, has more of a skill element and less luck involved. But picking the highest point scorer in one particular match is more reliant on luck.

Take that recent Sterling hat trick, example. Aguero got just 5 points in that game or something. They’re both great picks, Sterling arguably slightly more explosive maybe, but it’s really close. Was it a lack of skill from Aguero cappers? No, just bad dumb luck. And they lost out on so many points and so many rank places.

But if they owned Sterling or Aguero for a set of fixtures, both parties would’ve eventually been rewarded.

P.S: I was a Sterling non-capper and Aguero non-owner that week. Not salty or anything.

Vardy is still stuck in Fabian Schär’s pocket isn’t he?

Hazard's performance against West Ham was utterly majestic, made taking him out tough.

I have an issue with wild cards. I usually go for a fairly template team. And most times I drop in OR. I think the chip should just be gotten rid of. That being said my FH team did very well so.... meh what do I know. It is what it is.

Have fun then. I went with Lucas Moura, Martial and Lukaku C as punts whilst keeping slightly template. Good so far... Moved up 15k 🙂

If your team is template then you are probably not going to move up the rankings and be passed by people with a few successful differentials

All good points. Not ones that made me feel any better but all true. 😎
Never the less I’m in the top 20k, leading ML by 60 and OR record is 54 so I have done something right every now and then.

I don't get very many assists, I think they should remove the bit of the game I don't do well at 😉

Just come in to see the score ..... looks like it's shaping up to one of those double legendary game weeks that we remember for many years to come .... for all the wrong reasons.

Just back from injury, didn't play well in the last game, could be rotated or rested

I sorry if this has already been mentioned but should first goal have been a Davies assist?

It was fed into Llorente and his first touch let him down... but turned out to be an assist.
