Murray benched as Brighton host strong Bournemouth side

Glenn Murray (£6.4m) has been named on Brighton’s bench for their opening Double Gameweek 34 fixture.

He was captained by just over 100,000 Fantasy managers this week given that the Seagulls have two fixtures to play.

However, Chris Hughton has preferred to leave the veteran striker among the substitutes, selecting Florin Andone (£5.0m) to lead the line instead.

Anthony Knockaert (£5.2m) and Jurgen Locadia (£5.3m) are the two options to flank the Romanian international.

All eyes will be on Shane Duffy (£4.8m) now that Son Heung-min (£8.8m) managed just an assist against Huddersfield.

The centre-back was the second-most captained player inside the top 10,000 managers for Double Gameweek 34 and he starts in Brighton’s back-line today.

Alongside Lewis Dunk (£4.4m), he is flanked by Bernardo (£4.2m) and Martin Montoya (£4.3m) in defence.

In central midfield, it’s Yves Bissouma (£4.6m), Davy Pröpper (£4.8m) and Dale Stephens (£4.3m).

Both of them currently yellow-flagged, there was no room in the matchday squad for Pascal Groß (£6.7m) or Solly March (£4.7m).

Bournemouth have named a strong first XI with Josh King (£6.6m), Callum Wilson (£6.6m), Ryan Fraser (£6.3m) and David Brooks (£5.1m) all in the starting XI.

Danny Ings (£5.4m) is back in the side for Southampton as they host Wolves today.

He missed the visit of Liverpool in Blank Gameweek 33 because he was ineligible to face his parent club.

With some Fantasy managers looking to the Saints for Double Gameweek 35 investment, they will be happy to see Nathan Redmond (£5.3m), James Ward-Prowse (£5.1m) and Pierre-Emile Højbjerg (£4.4m) in the starting line-up.

After recent tinkering, Nuno Espirito Santo has selected what appears to be his best XI.

Raúl Jiménez (£6.8m) is paired with Diogo Jota (£6.2m) up front, while Matt Doherty (£5.3m) plays on the right of midfield.

Brighton XI: Ryan; Montoya, Duffy, Dunk, Bernardo; Bissouma, Stephens, Pröpper; Knockaert, Andone, Locadia.

Bournemouth XI: Boruc; S Cook, Mepham, Aké; Fraser, Gosling, Lerma, Smith; Brooks, King; Wilson.

Burnley XI: Heaton; Lowton, Tarkowski, Mee, Taylor; Hendrick, Westwood, Cork, McNeil; Barnes, Wood.

Cardiff XI: Etheridge; Peltier, Morrison, Ecuele Manga, Bennett; Gunnarsson, Arter; Hoilett, Camarasa, Murphy; Zohore.

Fulham XI: Rico; Bryan, Le Marchand, Ream, Fosu-Mensah; Cairney, Anguissa, Chambers; Sessegnon, Mitrovic, Babel.

Everton XI: Pickford; Digne, Jagielka, Zouma, Coleman; Gueye, Gomes; Bernard, Sigurdsson, Richarlison; Calvert-Lewin.

Southampton XI: Gunn; Bednarek, Yoshida, Vestergaard; Valery, Ward-Prowse, Højbjerg, Bertrand; Sims, Redmond; Ings.

Wolves XI: Rui Patrício; Saïss, Coady, Boly; Doherty, Dendoncker, Rúben Neves, João Moutinho, Jonny; Jiménez, Diogo Jota.

I've got TAA, Robertson, Sterling and Aguero to play and Brooks first on the bench. Reckon I'll be fortunate enough to get Brooks off the bench?

Saints season ticket holder. Summary of Saints and Wolves:

    1. Redmond looked dangerous throughout
    2. Ings isn’t match fit. Long improved the team significantly when he came on
    3. JWP was ok but wasn’t on form
    4. Valery was fine when he came off (precautionary after taking a tough tackle)
    5. Jiminez and Jota looked frustrated but their movement was good and they could’ve had points in that game
    6. Doherty looked tired

    Meh.

Brighton picking this game to unexpectedly concede more goals than they did in any other game this season is just one of those things. If I was in the same position again I'd still absolutely make the same decison to pick their defenders because you can only play the odds. Sound decisions don't always end with sound results.

    On to Cardiff I guess.

To all who wildcarded including me.we were never gonna keep fraser or wilson or king.We were always gonna punt on brighton cos we love a DGW.
Rotation was always likely we knew this hindsight can be a wonderful thing sometimes. But lets face facts FPL is our bookies roulette machine and we just got pummelled today so lets move on and looking forward to crying over are BB next week

Just realised Lindleof is benched too. What a week. Pereira, Tielemans, Vardy(c), Duffy, Lindleof benched ha and Lascelles on my bench! I suppose most are in the same position.

“... I suppose most are in the same position ...”. Don’t think so. Most managers don’t follow FFS.

Owner of Duffy, Dunk & Murray, here.

Cheer up, mate! Brighton should make this as a wake up call for them to beat Cardiff 5-0 for next game.

Btw, have both Lindelof & Rashford too. Lol

    *Sigh

    Bahaha
Isn't FPL awesomely cruel? Tom cairney scored more than any reasonable combination of 4 DGW players.

Anybody holding out for the miracle at the the Amex stadium? 🙂

Actually... That might turn out to be another Brighton spanking with a camarasa red.

It might turn out to be the lowest average score GW in history..... Couldn't it?

Had a strong gut feeling he would score a pen against Hammers. A sneeky assist to too it off now.
