Dugout Discussion

Murray starts against Cardiff as Duffy remains main focus

Glenn Murray (£6.4m) has returned to the starting line-up for Brighton.

The veteran forward was left on the bench for the 5-0 defeat Bournemouth on Saturday.

Also back in the side is Pascal Groß (£6.7m), making his first start since Gameweek 28.

After such a devastating result against the Cherries just a few days ago, it looks as if Chris Hughton has reverted to the 4-4-1-1 formation that brought more success for Brighton earlier in the campaign.

Solly March (£4.7m) is another returning face, stationed on the left of midfield, Alireza Jahanbakhsh (£6.7m) on the opposite flank.

Bruno (£4.4m) comes in at right-back to captain the side, while defensive pair Shane Duffy (£4.8m) and Lewis Dunk (£4.4m) keep their places in the side – as does goalkeeper Mat Ryan (£4.4m).

It is these options where the majority of Fantasy interest lies. 66,000 managers captained Duffy for Double Gameweek 34.

22.72% of those in the top 10,000 form part of that number.

Given that Cardiff have allowed more headed attempts and shots from set pieces in the last six matches, there is every chance that Duffy could nick some attacking returns.

Brighton XI: Ryan; Bernardo, Dunk, Duffy, Bruno; March, Pröpper, Stephens, Jahanbakhsh; Groß; Murray.

Cardiff XI: Etheridge; Peltier, Ecuele Manga, Morrison, Bennett; Ralls, Gunnarsson; Mendez-Laing, Camarasa, Hoilett; Niasse.

I’m glad I’ve been doing pants this year. Being around 10k, wildcarding and have this turd of a DGW land on my lap, would’ve driven me to getting into petty arguments with other FFS members.

I’d probably also have a hissy fit and suggest BB in another gameweek while I sell my Brighton assets.

Haha 🙂 I am at 1k and just got 40 points post WC. Red arrow incoming.

Think I'm going to have to ship at least 1 Brighton asset for the BB. Prob Ryan out.

Come on then, now the gameweek is finally over how badly has it gone for you?

Despite having double Brighton defence and Deeney (yes I wildcarded) I got 52 points and I’m getting a green arrow of a massive 12 places. My smallest green ever but a green is a green especially this week!

    Any success stories?

Would you say Liverpool attack is still essential if you're chasing in your ML? (60 points)

Part of me thinks I need to take a risk and go for some differentials. (JWP & Doucoure) but it feels inevitable that Liverpool will smash Cardiff & Huddersfield. I could go for Firmino who has a fairly low ownership. What do you recon?

    1. Colonel Shoe 肝池
      • 12 Years

take diffs elsewhere, not getting highly owned in form players for the sake of having a diff will more likely than not land you in hot water.
firm could be a decent diff (relatively) shout tho

Yeah I'm thinking Firmino & Doucoure might be a sensible happy medium. Just need to hope he smashes it and Salah has a quiet day. Don't feel confident though

I’m genuinely confused! So you’ve changed teams? What do you mean by “update”. If it’s linked to your FPL team number there shouldn’t be any need to update

What an amazing game week. Top five 5 rivals in Head to head league all lost....beaten by managers who packed in months ago with huge scores and no Stupid Brighton players.
Quite relieved to have a paltry score of 49.. could have been worse but could have been so much better if I hadn't wildcarded and got rid of Fraser, Wilson, Brooks and Pogba!!!!

  22. Belli2007

-8 is 2pts per bench player.

Bench will say have FW or MF, 2xDF and GK. If all are playing twice then you have 2 chances for both GK and 2x DF for a CS where as GW 36 you have 1 for each.

For GW35, if you have 33% CS and other matches ship 1 goal and FW/MF blank in both

    GK 6,2
    DF 6,2
    DF 2,2
    FW 2,2

    16 pts

For same in GW36 you need 66% CS percentage

    GK 6
    DF 6
    DF 2
    FW 2

    16pts

So percentages suggest better this week IMO (appreciate there are assumptions here but just making a point).

I have Duffy and Dunk and fortunately held off to put Deeney in this week so clearly that is now off the cards.

I will defo ship one if not both of the Brighton defs.

Was considering Kola and Valery but the former didn't play last week and the later is now flagged so is tricky......0 ITB

TAA and Salah I would hold onto. I have Mane and will bring TAA back in for Huddersfield match GW36
