Half of FPL top 10k have exhausted chip supply

Nearly half of the top 10,000 Fantasy Premier League managers ahead of Double Gameweek 35 have now exhausted their chip supply for the season.

47.9% of those at that level have used all of the chips and will have to rely only on their transfers for Gameweeks 36, 37 and 38.

47.0% have just one left in their locker, with the Triple Captain currently the least used of the four.

That has been used by 59.48% of the top 10k managers, suggesting that there is a real opportunity either to make ground in that bracket or break into it with an effective deployment of the Triple Captain.

Not surprisingly, the Bench Boost was deployed extensively at that level of the game for this round of fixtures.

The number of top 10k managers who had used it after the Double Gameweek 35 deadline rose from just 18.61% to 86.12%.

That means a huge 67.51% of them are enjoying points for all 15 players over the next few days.

The most popular cheaper options likely to have been included in Bench Boost scores are Shane Duffy (£4.8m), Mat Ryan (£4.4m), Yan Valery (£4.1m) owned by 44.88%, 39.68% and 39.05% of the top 10k respectively.

There was a small portion of upper echelon who considered the Triple Captain chip.

7.87% of them went for an enhanced skipper for Double Gameweek 35, with Raheem Sterling (£11.5m), Sergio Aguero (£11.8m), Raúl Jiménez (£6.9m) and Son Heung-min (£8.8m) the only four options considered for it.

Manchester City’s midfield star Sterling was the most popular from that quartet for the Triple Captain among the top 10k and has it all to do at Old Trafford after scoring just one point against Spurs.

Those options were also the key players in the normal captaincy debate too, which was exceptionally tight at the top level just as it was for everybody else.

Sterling was handed the armband by 28.14% of managers in the top 10k, more than any other player.

Aguero was second placed with 24.57% and Jiménez third on 22.08%.

Given that last weekend was the most popular for the Wildcard chip, it should be no surprise that there was little change in the top 10k most owned players between Gameweek 34 and 35.

The only major difference between the two models is up front. Jamie Vardy (£9.0m) was the third most popular forward among the top 10k for Double Gameweek 34, behind Aguero and Jiménez, but that honour now falls to Alexandre Lacazette (£9.4m).

The Arsenal man is in 22% of top 10k squads for Double Gameweek 35, with fixtures against Crystal Palace (home) and Wolves (away) coming up.

Those who had Wildcarded in Double Gameweek 34 also had to make a change, following Troy Deeney‘s (£5.9m) sending off on Monday night.

Despite conceding seven goals in Double Gameweek 34, Duffy remains among the most owned defenders, although has lost a fair amount of his backing among the top 10k.

No defender was in more squads than him last time around, with 71.6% effective ownership in the top 10k, but that dropped to just 51.86% for Double Gameweek 35, which of course will be influenced by considerably fewer captain’s armbands.

For those bringing in Liverpool assets I wouldn't stray away from Alisson/VVD/Mane/Salah. Keita being the wildcard.

I think Trent is most likely to have reduced minutes to bring Gomez back into the fold for Barca also the experience Milner has could impact him. Think the full backs are more likely to be subbed when games are won than Salah/Mane as they cover so much ground and are vital to how we play.

Klopp will be looking to protect Trent, Roberston, Fabinho more than the front 3 imo.

Trent could be worth the risk.

Wouldn't be surprised to see one of them come off tomorrow after 60/70, Gomez in for Trent for Huddersfield and Milner in for Robertson at Newcastle.

I've got Robertson/Salah/Mane and will be holding them.

Firmino had a rest the other night, and whilst I can't see Salah/Mane starting on the bench against Huddersfield, I can definitely see either/both being brought off early if Liverpool are 2 or 3 up. Especially with Origi and Shaqiri on the bench, plus Klopp's now talking about the Ox being back and ready.

Surely Gomez gets most of his time at centre back, nodody wants Matip or Lovren in their first 11.

That KDB injury has scuppered my plans. Was all set on Vardy to Firmino FT. But not sure now.

    Ryan
    Robbo Doherty Valery
    Mane Pogba Son KDB
    Vardy Aguero Jiminez

    Foster Brooks Duffy Luiz

Considering KDB & Pogba to Salah & Deulofou? TC Salah 36? And leave Vardy in, sound good?

Pogba could be a very nice asset to have 37/38. If you prefer Vardy to him, fair enough, but consider the upcoming fixtures for pog.

You can easily be good and finish with a bad rank over a season, you're much less likely to be bad and finish with a good rank. But yes there are huge amounts of luck involved, however it's about risk management and how you react to bad luck. We're all just playing the odds; we can't do more than picking the best odds and hoping.

Honestly I wouldnt bother with bringing in Mane/Firm when you already have VVD and TC on Salah.

Mane requires ditching Son/Eriksen and doing some minor surgery, and I wouldnt be rushing to get rid of either of them as part of a -4.

Quick thinking in my head seems to think you could go Martial + Jimi -> Firmino + 5.2m Mid (Brooks/Camarasa?) if you were desperate for another Lpool attacker

Yeah I agree, Watford defence is shot up right now so it makes sense to have Jimi for the next 2 anyway. I guess if you really want that 2nd Liverpool attacker then yeah I agree with your move above for Eriksen+Martial -> Mane + Jota.

Id definitely wait and see how Eriksen plays against Brighton before making your mind up, if he looks deep then pull the trigger on it for sure

      A :Gray to Firmino

B: Aguero to Firmino for free(you already have Sterling)

C: Sterling to Salah and Gray to fodder

You don't need an 8th attacker.. You have good rotation opportunities in defence. I kind of like Gray + Sterling -> Salah (TC) + Fodder. But might be better off keeping Sterling and saving the FT.

Not sure there is going to be enough between Eriksen Firmino to justify a hit in that direction.

Aguero + Jota > Llorente + Salah for exact money

Sterling covers Aguero somewhat, and the double Liv attack at home to Hud is so appealing - even more so if you're using the TC chip.

I think VVD in for Vert would be the way to go. You end up sacrificing less in downgrading to raise funds, and he could conceivably match Firmino's output.

Look to Jota or Gray to raise funds.

I don't think you're getting Salah in without major surgery.

I have Mane and Robertson and want one of TAA or Firmino. A little worried for TAA mins now that Gomez is back also.
I could downgrade KDB and get in Firmino for DCL.

So now this week's big question, to salah or not to salah.

There will be lot of interest in pool assets but most will be confused between which two attackers to get out of salah/mane/firmino, same as me

So, I have got mane, who should I get..both requires -4 hit

    A) Vardy+hojbjerg to firmino+ hudson-odoi
    B) Erikson + Vardy to Salah + 5.2 striker

    Ryan Gunn
    Monreal Robbo Laporte Duffy Valery
    Eriksen Mane Kdb Son Deulofeu
    Jiminez Llorente Lacazette

    4.2 Million in the Bank

    A. Llorente > Firmino (leaves no Citeh attack)
    B. Eriksen/Kdb/Laca > Salah/Razza/zaha or Rashford
    C. Kdb > Salah (as A above)
