Lloris and Trippier return for Spurs as Valery benched

Tuesday night’s team news was mixed for Fantasy managers as some options returned to their respective sides, while others did not.

Hugo Lloris (£5.4m) and Kieran Trippier (£6.0m) are back in the Spurs side to face Brighton.

Their goalkeeper missed the trip to Manchester City with a small injury, while Trippier was rested with Juan Foyth (£5.0m) deployed instead of him at right wing-back.

It looks like a back-four for Spurs tonight with Danny Rose (£5.8m), Jan Vertonghen (£5.9m) and Toby Alderweireld (£6.0m) joining Trippier in defence.

Those invested in the Spurs attack will be pleased to see that Son Heung-min (£8.8m), Fernando Llorente (£5.1m), Dele Alli (£8.8m) and Lucas Moura (£6.8m) made it into the starting XI.

Christian Eriksen (£9.3m) is also in the side but might be playing a deeper role alongside Victor Wanyama (£4.9m) with Eric Dier (£4.7m) on the bench – and Trippier’s may also impinge on his set piece potential too.

Meanwhile, Chris Hughton has made six changes to the Brighton outfit that drew 0-0 at Wolves.

Bruno (£4.4m) and Gaëtan Bong (£4.4m) drop out for Bernardo (£4.2m) and Martin Montoya (£4.3m).

Glenn Murray (£6.3m) drops out for Florin Andone (£5.0m) to lead the line, while Jurgen Locadia (£5.3m) and Alireza Jahanbakhsh (£6.7m) come in for Solly March (£4.7m) and José Izquierdo (£5.9m) on the flanks of the attack.

Perhaps a surprise to some is the fact that Watford’s two-man strike force has stayed the same for their second match of Double Gameweek 35.

Both Gerard Deulofeu (£5.6m) and Andre Gray (£6.0m) have kept their places after starting against Huddersfield.

Meanwhile, Jan Valery (£4.1m), who missed Southampton’s trip to Newcastle through illness, is fit enough only for the bench.

Nathan Redmond (£5.4m) retains his starting berth while Shane Long (£4.6m) comes in for Danny Ings (£5.4m) and Stuart Armstrong (£5.1m) replaces Josh Sims (£4.4m).

“There are a few fresh players after an intensive game on Saturday. It’s important for us mainly in the first row that we have good sprinting quality, and I think the two guys deserve to play. They played a good game in the second half against Newcastle and that’s why they get the chance today.” – Ralph Hasenhüttl

Spurs XI: Lloris; Rose, Vertonghen, Alderweireld, Trippier; Wanyama, Eriksen; Son, Alli, Moura; Llorente.

Brighton XI: Ryan; Bernardo, Dunk, Duffy, Montoya; Stephens, Bissouma; Locadia, Groß, Jahanbakhsh; Andone.

Watford XI: Foster; Masina, Kabasele, Cathcart, Janmaat; Pereyra, Capoue, Doucouré, Hughes; Deulofeu, A Gray.

Southampton XI: Gunn; Bednarek, Stephens, Yoshida; Ward-Prowse, Oriol Romeu, Højbjerg, Bertrand; Redmond, Armstrong; Long.

Looks like we captained Duffy on a wrong week and Daniel benched Redmond the only GW in history when he will score a brace. Played Deeney.

Seriously considering taking a break once again and pause it next year.

Too bad I missed the year when Chelsea dominated, it's totally related when your team goes well you do well in FPL.

    Thoughts?

So. Rage transfered out Duffy and upgraded him to Bennet with the money I had left over from Deeney to Wilson. The same Wilson that got sh%t load of points the wk before.

    So

Duffy on for 2nd cleanie this wk.
    Wilson got 1 pt.

    Valery got no pts.

    Jwp got 2 pts.

    Now I ask ya wtfnf?

Feel like ditching Eriksen (could get Sterling or Salah, have Son Aguero Mane Robbo from the top3 club’s attackers)...

But would also need to downgrade Vardy...

Radical idea, 0-0 draws should count as wins for the away team, would fix a lot of boring games.

This lol, they play the same number of home and away games all season. It would just change what games they park the bus..

Would also like a rule where a team has to keep a minimum (2 or 3 maybe?) players in the other half. It's too congested.

...or it'd make EVERY game boring since all games have 1 side who is away from home and they'd be incentivized to park a 10-man bus behind the ball.

If anything they should change the scoring to give a point for a shot on target, 5 for a goal...that would get them shooting at least. Very typical of American sports where the attention span is 10 mins

I think it's pretty good that american sports are frequently adapting their rules to incentivise a sufficient amount of attacking and scoring.

There are loads of things football could do to make 0-0 a lot rarer than it is.

If we want less defensive games then have bottom 5 that all get relegated instead of 3. 3 points become more important

Spurs need to get someone running with the ball into the box and cause some panic in the Brighton defence. They keep trying clipped balls over the top or crosses from out wide and it is food and drink for Duffy and Dunk
