Lloris and Trippier return for Spurs as Valery benched

Tuesday night’s team news was mixed for Fantasy managers as some options returned to their respective sides, while others did not.

Hugo Lloris (£5.4m) and Kieran Trippier (£6.0m) are back in the Spurs side to face Brighton.

Their goalkeeper missed the trip to Manchester City with a small injury, while Trippier was rested with Juan Foyth (£5.0m) deployed instead of him at right wing-back.

It looks like a back-four for Spurs tonight with Danny Rose (£5.8m), Jan Vertonghen (£5.9m) and Toby Alderweireld (£6.0m) joining Trippier in defence.

Those invested in the Spurs attack will be pleased to see that Son Heung-min (£8.8m), Fernando Llorente (£5.1m), Dele Alli (£8.8m) and Lucas Moura (£6.8m) made it into the starting XI.

Christian Eriksen (£9.3m) is also in the side but might be playing a deeper role alongside Victor Wanyama (£4.9m) with Eric Dier (£4.7m) on the bench – and Trippier’s may also impinge on his set piece potential too.

Meanwhile, Chris Hughton has made six changes to the Brighton outfit that drew 0-0 at Wolves.

Bruno (£4.4m) and Gaëtan Bong (£4.4m) drop out for Bernardo (£4.2m) and Martin Montoya (£4.3m).

Glenn Murray (£6.3m) drops out for Florin Andone (£5.0m) to lead the line, while Jurgen Locadia (£5.3m) and Alireza Jahanbakhsh (£6.7m) come in for Solly March (£4.7m) and José Izquierdo (£5.9m) on the flanks of the attack.

Perhaps a surprise to some is the fact that Watford’s two-man strike force has stayed the same for their second match of Double Gameweek 35.

Both Gerard Deulofeu (£5.6m) and Andre Gray (£6.0m) have kept their places after starting against Huddersfield.

Meanwhile, Jan Valery (£4.1m), who missed Southampton’s trip to Newcastle through illness, is fit enough only for the bench.

Nathan Redmond (£5.4m) retains his starting berth while Shane Long (£4.6m) comes in for Danny Ings (£5.4m) and Stuart Armstrong (£5.1m) replaces Josh Sims (£4.4m).

“There are a few fresh players after an intensive game on Saturday. It’s important for us mainly in the first row that we have good sprinting quality, and I think the two guys deserve to play. They played a good game in the second half against Newcastle and that’s why they get the chance today.” – Ralph Hasenhüttl

Spurs XI: Lloris; Rose, Vertonghen, Alderweireld, Trippier; Wanyama, Eriksen; Son, Alli, Moura; Llorente.

Brighton XI: Ryan; Bernardo, Dunk, Duffy, Montoya; Stephens, Bissouma; Locadia, Groß, Jahanbakhsh; Andone.

Watford XI: Foster; Masina, Kabasele, Cathcart, Janmaat; Pereyra, Capoue, Doucouré, Hughes; Deulofeu, A Gray.

Southampton XI: Gunn; Bednarek, Stephens, Yoshida; Ward-Prowse, Oriol Romeu, Højbjerg, Bertrand; Redmond, Armstrong; Long.

Why would you want to keep him? He's been awful for ages unless you're hoping for pens every week.

I kept my Brighton triple (Duffy, Dunk and Murray) and benched the lot of them.
So nearly played KDB TC but opted for Bench Boost at last minute as that was my long term plan but nearly didn’t as they were awful in 34.

Spurs 17 shots but only 2 on target. Ryan could have had a monster haul.

But if they were on target he might've conceded?

At least one would have gone in if they had been on target. Ryan isn't that good.

I've got a better idea, if away teams win they get to plant their team flag in the stadium and lay claim to it as their turf. That should be enough incentive
