Starts for Sterling, Aguero and Lacazette but Aubameyang misses out

Two Premier League fixtures take place this evening, bringing Double Gameweek 35 to a close.

Wolverhampton Wanderers host Arsenal in the 19:45 BST kick-off at Molineux before the Manchester derby gets underway at a rain-soaked Old Trafford 15 minutes later.

Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero both start for City but Pep Guardiola has made three changes to the side that beat Spurs on Saturday, with Vincent Kompany, Fernandinho and David Silva replacing John Stones, Phil Foden and the injured Kevin de Bruyne.

Bernardo Silva continues on the right flank with Sterling on the opposite wing, meaning no start for Riyad Mahrez or Leroy Sane.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has wielded the axe after the 4-0 loss at Everton, with Matteo Darmian, Luke Shaw, Ashley Young, Andreas Pereira and Jesse Lingard returning in place of Phil Jones, Diogo Dalot, Nemanja Matic, Romelu Lukaku and Anthony Martial.

All bar the injured Jones of those five players are among the substitutes.

There is no Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the Arsenal matchday squad, with the Gabonese striker and wing-back Sead Kolasinac among seven players to drop out of Unai Emery’s starting XI.

Arsenal say that Aubameyang misses out this evening having had a “small sinus procedure”, while Kolasinac is among the substitutes.

Shkodran Mustafi, Mohamed Elneny, Carl Jenkinson, Matteo Guendouzi and Konstantinos Mavraponos are the other men to make way as Sokratis, Nacho Monreal, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Granit Xhaka, Lucas Torreira, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Alex Iwobi are recalled to Emery’s line-up.

The Arsenal head coach looks to be reverting to a 4-2-3-1, with Iwobi, Mkhitaryan and Mesut Ozil supporting Alexandre Lacazette in attack.

Leander Dendoncker for Morgan Gibbs-White is Nuno Espirito Santo’s only change, meaning that Raul Jimenez, Diogo Jota, Matt Doherty and Jonny all get two starts in Double Gameweek 35.

Manchester United XI: De Gea, Darmian, Lindelof, Smalling, Shaw, Young, Fred, Pereira, Pogba, Lingard, Rashford.

Manchester City XI: Ederson, Walker, Kompany, Laporte, Zinchenko, Fernandinho, Gundogan, Silva, Bernardo, Sterling, Aguero.

Wolves XI: Patricio, Bennett, Coady, Boly, Doherty, Dendoncker, Neves, Moutinho, Jonny, Jimenez, Jota

Arsenal XI: Leno, Maitland-Niles, Sokratis, Koscielny, Monreal, Torreira, Xhaka, Mkhitaryan, Ozil, Iwobi, Lacazette.

The annoying thing is if you look at his previous GW scores and couple them consecutively, then calculate the Captain score, this is the first fail for a long while

That's how FPL works IMO. I have said before, if FPL was about going for the most likely result then it would be easy.

The key to FPL is predicting the shocks. I don't think anyone has actually looked at whether shocks are more predictable than they are made out to be. Bookies odds etc are all based on long term performance so they profit over a large number of weeks, but in FPL, particularly for captaincy, you need to predict one week results.

Not 'Sherlock' at all I would say. Has anyone looked at predicting shocks? Do they happen to certain teams? Do certain teams cause more shocks than others? Do shocks occur more frequently at particular times of the season? How does the number of injuries a team has correlate with a shock result being achieved by them or against them?
