Join our Sky Sports Fantasy Football league

Sky Sports Fantasy Football has launched for the 2019/20 season.

We have set up our usual free-to-all Sky league ahead of the new campaign and you can join us by entering the following pin: 8421088.

Tomorrow we’ll have our first proper Sky article of the summer covering the basics of the game before we delve into more detail in the coming weeks.

There are several differences with Fantasy Premier League, with Sky not being a squad-based game (i.e. you only have to select 11 players on a given Gameweek), transfers allowed between Gamedays and more rewards on the equivalent bonus system for shots on target, tackles and completed passes.

Jorginho (£9.8m), for example, was among the ten highest-scoring midfielders in Sky last season mainly thanks to the bonus points he picked up for passing.

We’ll elaborate more on the Sky game in our ‘How to Play’ article tomorrow.

Plus I don’t like having the conflict of interest that having different players in different games brings

      1. Personally on set and forget, but I'd go Steer/Pope.

      2. Tough crowd, but probably
Matty Targett on a punt. Elmo is good too.

      3. Tielemans crininally underpriced.
Moutinho I feel is severely overlooked at the 5.5m price. The guy creates chances for fun.
Djenepo at 5.5m as a raiding winger at Southampton ks one to watch in preseason.
      Brooks is a trap.

      1. Burnley/Brighton. Hopefully Burnley/Villa if Heaton moves.

      1. Keep an eye on Burnley. If Heaton goes to AVL he could rotate with Pope. Ryan obviously. Maybe Gunn??

      2. Very slim pickings. I've currently got Adam Smith and Balbuena which should give you some idea of the quality.

      3. Perez/Tielemans probably.

      Heaton/Pope

      Diop, Cathcart, O'Connell (SHU)

Westwood, Moutinho, Jorginho, Noble, Brooks. One of Freeman or Norwood will come good for Sheffield United.

    Lloris (4.0)
    TAA - VVD - Digne - Dunk/Rico
Salah - Rich - Zaha - Maddy (Dendo)
    Kane - King (Greenwood)

1.5 ITB to get anyone who starts firing (Most likely Dunk/Rico > City Def. ahead of GW4)

How Youri has stayed at £6.5m is mad. Any one with an inch of faith in the eye test can see what a bargain that is. This is a guy who started for Anderlecht in the CL when he was 16. Liberated and completed that Leicester midfield the moment he came in. No question on nailedness or ability to generate FPL output.
And somehow someone in FPL towers thought 6.5m was the right price. Okaaayyyy.

Exactly, pretty much sums it all up. Previously had a three striker lineup with Jota, but now that Youri is 6.5, Jota's dropped like a hot pan. FPL has dropped a clanger there.

Do you want an early Leicester double up? Or are you prepared to pick him on his own?

My feeling is that it is specifically Vardy who is the top 6 killer and the undercard only come into play when fixtures turn.

      1. Differential C (Mark)
        • 8 Years

Tielemans is my sole Foxes asset. Vardy is someone I want, but no cash 🙁

I can't decide between him and Vardy - if I have Vardy then I can't get Youri unless I sell Siggy (or Salah or Sterling) which I am not prepared to do. Having Youri means I can have 3 mid-priced strikers though instead of Vardy and Wilson plus Greenwood.

      He was £6m last season.

I think I’d prefer Maddison if they were the same price and there’s Perez in the mix now as well so I like that they’ve priced him competitively.

    6. Valar(Keith)
      • 14 Years
      4 years, 8 months ago

It all started when they priced maddison as the main set piece taker in the side at just 7. And then they opened the game super early as compared to usual and couldn't reprice /classify perez( And then They went and underpriced Siggurdson at 8 million even though he is fpl royalty) They set a deadly precedent with all of that and were forced into pricing tielemans at 6.5. Tbh I wouldn't have batted an eyelid if siggy was 9, Maddison was 8 and perez, tielemans were 7.5. Severely underpriced but good for us

    7. Tomerick
      • 9 Years
      4 years, 8 months ago

In comparison to Maddison at 7.0 I don’t think they could justify making Tielemans the same price.

No doubt he is a great player and very important to the team but Maddison outclasses in my eyes and based on the data also.

How much are we expecting Tammy to be and are we expecting him to play ahead of Giroud?

    1. Ask Yourself
      • 7 Years
      4 years, 8 months ago

Shhhhh don’t give anything away to the people on here who price him. I expect him to never play a game, only Cup games so anything higher than 4.5m would be ridiculous, will have nothing to do with FPL, giroud 110% the main man

      1. The Big Fella
        • 7 Years
        4 years, 8 months ago

He genuinely may not. I can't see Giroud being happy sitting on the bench as the only senior striker at the club. He may push for a leave too if he is no guaranteed minutes which Chelsea may not want. May turn out to be a case of Lamps roulette.

Yeah there's been talk of Mount if a 4231 is used, which I expect will become the first choice formation.

Could also be a 433 much like last season though, where Kovacic might eat some minutes.

Siggy flatters to deceive, will chip away with the odd assist/goal but my money would be on Richarlison outscoring him in the first few games before doing his usual 5-6 game disappearing act - where Siggy will make up the ground on him.

Siggurdson outscored him by nearly 30 points despite Richarlisson playing as a Striker for a big chunk of the season. That could be a reason

      1. Wheato182

Over the course of the season I expect Siggy to outscore him, mainly due to Richarlison's inconsistency.

My point was Richarlison has started the past 2 seasons exceptionally well and was probably in the top 5 for the first few weeks before faltering off.

Bar a strange turn of events where Everton are challenging for top 6 nobody is keeping their assets long term.

Both are too expensive for me. Especially if you have Salah and Sterling and 3 premium defenders (which I'd strongly advise).

Digne will score just as well if not better than them both this season and IMO.

Here’s my team with some options to switch if players under perform

    Ryan

    VVD Robbo Coleman Ake

    Zaha Salah KDB Fraser Maddison

    Kane

I’m thinking if KDB isn’t performing after a couple of weeks then I can bring in Son for the same price.

Also plenty of mid priced mids to swap to if form is not there in Fraser, Zaha or Maddi

Also Kane can swap to Auba.

Hoping a 4.5m defender gem comes along so I can upgrade Coleman

Ryan is my only area I’m really stuck with.

I think you’ve gotta cover the City attack or they’ll cause you some serious damage if they start cutting loose. Just pick one, stick with it and accept they might get the odd rest. I’d get Sterling.

What are everybody's opinions on B'mouth? I think King is a trap. I think Wilson is good but the team as a whole are maybe too inconsistent for me to seriously debate Wilson at £8m but they have such nice fixtures that I want somebody from the team. Fraser is a tad too much for me. Thoughts?

Same. The last two seasons I've started with King and regretted it. so I'll probably do that again. Wilson at 8M just seems to expensive and I don't think Fraser will have another season like the last one. I'm expecting their prices will drop in the first five GWs and then I might consider them.

I can see why many will invest, but I'm staying clear. They really struggled to score at home towards the end of the season (late set piece goal vs 9 man Spurs, couldn't score past Fulham, 1 against Burnley which was a Barnes OG...) and I have a feeling Sheffield United will surprise them GW1. Then its avl/MCI/lei/EVE.

Fraser is the perfect player to start with imo. Nailed, proven performer for a decent team with good fixtures and priced slightly more than other mid-priced midfielders, allowing for an easy switch without having to worry about price rises/falls.

King is the best 6.5 million striker.

Wilson is priced too closely to Vardy for me. Every time I put him in I feel like I should find the extra million for Vardy, who could easily hit 200 points this season, going by his end of season form and his total points tally.

Brooks is 0.5 more expensive than I would want if considering him as a long-term option but he's worth considering early on if you have a way to transition him to a Chelsea/West Ham/Leicester mid.

Defence, I'm looking at A Smith to rotate in and out of my team until my early wildcard but I understand other people's reservations about that.

Pope or Ryan? Pope purported to be new 1st choice at Burnley and was mint 2 seasons ago but is obviously a year older now. Ryan has some nice fixtures, gets save points and is a good keeper plus Button is my 2nd keeper so I will always be guaranteed somebody to play. However, I don't know how the new manager will set them up.
