I'm not saying that. I'm saying he's ineffective without Son.

That's not true. If it was true for a period last season it's an oversimplification because in past seasons I've read on here that Kane is ineffective with son. He'll Jonty has linked his form to every member of personnel down to the tea lady. Correlation does not equal causation. Also it does help playing with a good player in the form of their life like son was for periods last season. Same applies to if Eriksen or Alli were in the form of their life. Their teammates benefit.

Posted this last night, interested to get some other opinions.

Seems like FPL suicide but I am tempted to go without Salah and Sterling. The more i look at the Kane/Auba captaincy rotation early on, the more it appeals. Just look at them fixtures.

AVL, BUR, NEW, TOT, CRY, AVL, SOT, BOU, WAT, SHU, CRY, WOL, SHU, SOT, BOU, BHA, BUR

This pairing comes in at 2.5m less. You can then get all three Liverpool defenders to try and compensate for not owning Salah and KDB and B.Silva to try and cover City. Basically hoping with the (C) fixtures above, Kane and Auba can match Sterling & Salah while the extra 2.5m gives you extra points from elsewhere in your team.

Actually think Salah has a mixed bag of fixtures early on and you could get away with now owning him until GW13 or so. Sterling however, worries me. But then again, do we expect Sane and Mahrez to get more minutes this year? Also with KDB back, B.Silva is another option out wide.

I had a sterling, Kane rotation planned. I just can't not have Salah though. The extra points for CS's and goals scored becomes a tipping point for captaincy tbh. Salah with a brace scores just one less than Kane and Auba when they score hattricks

If Salah was 14 like Ronaldo, we would have seen far less template teams.

Exactly. Absolute joke that he is just 0.5 more than Aguero and Sterling is the same price. If Aguero was a million less to make up for no CS's and extra points for a goal then it'd be a proper conversation as to choosing between him and them

The problem with Kane is that u cant rely on him. Last year he blank against bad teams, I owned him (and captained him) just against Cardiff at home so this is the only game I remmber but my overall memory is u cant rely on him.

He did well post the Cardiff game when fit. Infact if I go with any premium striker its him. However son has more than proved his worth too classified as a midfielder at 9.5 and I don't think I'd want 21.5 million tied up in spurs when I already need money for pool and city.

      4.5 4.0

      Kane Auba King

There is never bad way. Only an opinion.
I have gone the KDB route but to release money for a more balanced side.
You will have 9 players with a chance to score points which ain't great IMO.

I had Auba last year in a rotation and he was disappointing. He failed to return points vs some easy home fixtures when the opposing team (WHU, IIRC) was conceding for fun.

I think by GW4, you will drop in rank if you don't own either Sterling or Aguero.

Salah did aswell. Nobody remembers because it doesn't matter when he blanks as everyone owns him.

        He blanked when:
        Liverpool beat Watford 5-0.
        Beat Burnley 4-2.
        Beat Cardiff 2-0
        Beat Wolves 2-0
        Beat Fulham 2-1

Don't know how many games you watch but would not be comfortable viewing Liverpool or City games (and they show most of them) without one of their main attackers. Two pool defenders max for me.

I think people are taking their end of season form into account a little too much. Just because a team ends the season well, it doesn't mean they will start well. I can understand having one or two of their players, but not sure about these team with both Digne and Coleman.

      Maybe...
Seem to remember they were quite popular this time last year. A lot of people getting Cenk Tosun for, “those fixtures”.
      Richarlison did well though...

They're lacking a centre forward and possibly a CD at the moment but overall they're looking in good shape and I see no reason why they shouldn't start well, unless Guaye goes. That could be a problem.

We still haven't seen how Brendan intends to set out his stall yet, so it's a bit of a pointless question right now.
FWIW my guess if Tielmans will play deeper than last season and Perez nearer the goal, so today I'd tip towards Perez.

Tielemans has a ffs fan club for sure, but Perez has the proven ability to score goals in the premier league. I can’t believe Perez won’t start most games and will play further forward. Only thing is, Maddison will outscore both and is only 0.5m more.

Perez, at the moment. Pre season will give better insight. He scored big in a bad team (fpl points wise). Was bought in for a decent fee (so will likely be a regular in the first team). Not much info to go on though really, until they play some matches.

Perez could do really well now he is in attacking side with good midfielders to supply him. Will see how he does pre season and if looking good will downgrade Zaha to Perez and upgrade to another premium defender.

Pretty much template but yes quite nice.
Downgrade one of strikers to try and enable Vardy over the other?

        Like Vardy great shout thanks

I’ve got this feeling 19.5m for those 3 strikers offers huge value if nailed

How about Robbo to VVD and Coleman to Digne?

    What’s the better option guys?

    A- Fraser & Kane
    Or
    B - KDB & Vardy

Have Salah but no city currently which concerns me. Getting Sterling unbalances the team.

    Cheers.

Fpl always opened mid July before a far as I remember. This was the earliest start I can remember

Think mid-July is normally the start of pre-season but don't follow it all that closely tbh. It tends to offer little in terms of how teams play when the reals games start.

Husillos (West Ham transfer negotiator) has travelled to China for the ore season tour ffs. Leaving David Sullivan responsible for handling the signing of Haller, who could be the greatest player at West Ham since many years. Wtf.

Who will start at lb this season for city?

I can swap Forster for Allison. But means getting zinchenko in for mendy and swapping Jimenez for either jota or giroud?

What do you think of this one:

        Heaton/Ryan (rotate)

        Walker, VVD, Digne

        Mid/ att still the same

Just having a play with formations and came up with this unorthodox 5-2-3 no-Salah team. What do you reckon?

    Heaton/Pope

    TAA - Robertson - VVD - Laporte - Digne
    Sterling - Perez
    Aguero - Wilson - Deleufeo

    (Button / Dendoncker - Hayden - Stephens

I like this non Salah team. As a non Salah first drafter I’ve gone for Kane over Aguero but you have a better front line overall. My only suggestion would be perhaps just stick to Ryan as 4.5m gk and get Maddison.

How do you rate this 5-3-2, means playing Ake every week

    Heaton/Pope - 4.0
    TAA - VVD - Digne - Zichenko - Ake
    Salah - Sterling - Siggy
    Vardy - Deulofeu

    Dendonker, Stephens, 4.5

Any chance Bayern will be able to get either CHO or Sane this summer?

Both will stay at Chelsea and City no?

    1. OleGGMU
      • 5 Years

I'd say Sane would be the more likely of the two , to move. Lamps arrival pretty much locks CHO, at least for this season.
Sane should also stay, he did contribute well last season and unless Pep doubts his maturity and attitude and feels someone else can easily replace him with similar or more effective contributions. Peps M.O of liking to groom and build up young players means he stays. Sterling was also mooted to leave early in his City career but he has grown tremendously and is alot more consistent and a better finisher than ever before.

They are interesting as they use a system that we haven’t seen in the PL h see wilder. Obviously don’t have the quality of players of wolves but a very similar new tactic I expect will see some success

Oconnell.. The attacking CBs will take epl teams some time to get used to. Playing him for all his 3 home games only though. Expecting a 15 pointer in one of them :). Will be great value at 4.5. Huge threat from open play and set pieces. I'm using him to improve Perez and Kings fixtures too lol.. Playing him gw 2 for perez, gw3 for King and gw 5 for Perez again. Small plans like these help make the game more interesting for me even with a template team lol

Trying to make my squad as flexible as possible leading into the season. Does this look low risk to most to start strong?
