Want to work for Fantasy Football Scout? Get in touch

As we gear up for the start of the 2019/20 season, we are frantically working behind the scenes to make improvements for our site users and subscribers.

We have a number of exciting developments in the pipeline but we’ll need an additional body to help us roll out the changes we have planned.

Our previous call to arms was for editorial staff but we are now looking for a web developer to assist with the technical side of things.

We work remotely so location shouldn’t be an issue for anyone considering applying. Flexibility of hours would be desirable, however.

We are looking for the following skills from our candidates:

Required

  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript and CSS, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model
  • Proficient with CSS2/CSS3
  • Knowledge of Accessibility and Web Standards
  • Experience with both Responsive and Adaptive Web Design

Beneficial

  • A working knowledge of Git
  • Experience with PHP

Ideal

  • Experience of React.js
  • Knowledge of WordPress

Based on past experience with our job adverts, we need to stress that it may take a little time to look through and respond to applications. But if that doesn’t put you off and you want to get involved with the next chapter of the site, please drop us a line with your CV at jobs@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk

I don't understand all the love for Burnley keeper.
Burnley have very difficult fixtures to start with.
    Can someone explain ?

Lack of 4.5 options. Feeling (hope) that Burnley will be more solid this year. Lots of save points.

Maybe worth looking at if wildcarding between 4-6 by then it’s will be established who is number one too

not really relevant, but noticed the only keepers who are cheaper than last season are both Pope and Heaton, and deGea.

The Burnley GK’s we’re averaging about 150 points a season before last year, I think they tended to concede chances from outside the area making saves easier and because they don’t tend to have much possession, the bonus points were going to the keepers when they got a clean sheet. £4.5m therefore looks cheap, especially when a lot of the other budget options from last year have had price hikes.

Burnley had the second worse defence last season just ahead of Fulham

Yeah, Joe Hart and the Europa League though. I believe they got a lot better in the second half of the season?

I generally agree with you. Prefer Ederson and then rotate two £4.5m defenders for the final spot in the XI using a 4-4-2. Get a good fixture every week then with some attacking potential (likes of C Taylor, Targett).

Firmly based on the likelihood of playing the wildcard somewhere between Gameweeks 5 to 9. Bad fixtures in the first four are a determining factor.

Longer term, yes, I like whoever the Burnley goalkeeper is.

Is Redmond being overlooked a bit at 6.5m?

Lots of options around the price and Sou have tough enough fixtures. Could be good though

I don't believe so. SOU doesn't have a solid home match until GW6.

Thoughts on this Auba draft, would switch to Kane GW3.

As has been said many times on previous pages, the team looks fine but is not flexible. Having three «dead» midfielders will demand hits as soon as the first bandwagons arrive.

I think there could be a few quid to be made from backing Everton for a CS - they should be much higher imo UNLESS the bookies are assuming Gueye isn’t playing

Palace actually had the worst home goals scored record in the league last season (bar Huddersfield) - even Fulham & Cardiff managed more home goals

They scored only 19 in 19 games (or 14 in 18 games before the final day 5 v a bourenmouth who must have been long since on the beach)

They’ve also lost Bats & possibly will lose Zaha - but even with those two they were beyond toothless at home last season

They actually coped really well without zouma last year

4 CS in the 6 games he missed

It was nearly 5 CS in 6 but pickford decided to have that brain fart for Origi s bizarre last second winner in the Derby

It’s just never worked for me, always flops.

Rather try something different this year, bench boost GW1 and use those funds your talking about to have a stronger 11 for future double gameweeks.

Just seemed every single person said they seemed to nail it double gameweek.....

I never get returns off it normally and I thought that was more common than people who got returns.

I thought an initial GW1/2 team bench boosting GW1 could work very well. Could start without city defence, without Leicester etc. Then GW3 wildcard the squad and be ahead of the pack.

Some have great BB dgw scores and others poor. GW1 is probably the easiest to find 15 starters although obviously not certain. It’s probably not for those who hang to wc as long as possible but it works for me as I always wc early. Plus it’s one less thing to worry about when things get complicated around dgw’s. People never mention the points they miss focusing on getting dead legs for a dgw bench only to find half of them only play one game anyway. If you want to, do it 🙂

You are literally explaining me down to a tee.

I always wildcard early, I always lose points building a DGW bench boost team and when I bench boost, half of my bench never plays both.....

I personally have never had any luck with it, so yea I need to stick to my guns here and not let me head be swayed and try something different.

                    Cheers WR.

You going with either of Kane or auba? I’ve not considered auba once, but now I’m doing it this way he’s suddenly an option!

Starting with Kane, then using a free transfer for Kane to auba for gw2 looks nice before the GW3 wildcard!

GW1 BB could work well too but then you probably have to set yourself up for an early WC. Id rather not do that even though I most likely will end up spending it around gw 3-4

      177 / 6.5 = 27.23 points per million.

Somewhere in the middle. The highest owned one requires the most sales to be affected, but will also be sold the most, because a bunch of casuals will own them. The lowest owned will be less sold, but that doesn't matter because they require the least sales to be affected. I personally prefer the second or third least owned.

Even a 'bunch of casuals' won't waste transfers on bench fodder players, especially early in the season, unless a fodder player does an AWB.

    Fab/ 4.0

Salah, B Silva, Jorginiho, Dendoncker, Hayden
    Kane, Jimi, Giroud
