How Scout Membership can help Fantasy managers in 2019/20

Full-season Fantasy Football Scout subscriptions are still available for £17.50 – that’s the equivalent of less than 39p a week.

Over the years we have added to the benefits that our Members enjoy and we will be re-investing back into the site to enhance it further in 2019/20.

The most recent addition was the new Flat-Track Bully tool, which allows Members to conduct research in greater detail.

Using this new feature (pictured below) you can exclude/include certain teams (i.e. the ‘big six’) when scrolling through the various tabs in our Player Stats section.

This will help you identify players who perhaps perform better against weaker opposition and even those who thrive against the top teams like Raúl Jiménez did in 2018/19.

We also recently put a call out for web developers and we have a number of other site improvements in the pipeline that will hopefully help our subscribers even more.

If you’re new to the benefits of Fantasy Football Scout membership, you can get full details, along with a series of movies previewing the content, via this page.

In 2018/19 we published more Members’ articles than ever before and there will be at least 150 such pieces in the 2019/20 campaign.

We also introduced Members-only comments and Hot Topics to allow for detailed discussions of content behind the pay-wall.

Our Projections and Rate My Team tools (below) have both been tweaked, with RMT’s Professor – aka Chris Atkinson – elaborating on the changes in a recent Hot Topic.

Reigning Fantasy Premier League champion Adam Levy is a paid-up Member of our site and he discussed what tools of ours he finds most useful in a recent interview.

In previous seasons we’ve helped FPL winners Tom Fenley and Simon March, while in 2015/16 we were thrilled to see Ed Masters – the winner of that year’s Members’ League – finish third in the overall rankings.

In 2017/18, Paul Gee went one better. He won our Members’ League and finished second, losing out to champion Yusuf Sheikh by just eight points.

We are hugely grateful to those who show their support by signing up as a Member each season. This continues to enable us to maintain the site, grow the Fantasy Football Scout team and develop more ideas.

Here are just some of the features you can enjoy as a subscriber:

Head-to-Head Comparisons

Compare both teams and players head to head.

Match Analysis

Analysis of every Premier League match (going back to 2011/12!), together with charts which plot average positions and our collection of heatmaps for touches, shots, chances created among other statistics.

Custom Stats Tables

Members can also create custom tables based on the data and share them with other subscribers (an example from last season is shown above).

Perhaps the most famous of these is Joe’s Goals Imminent table, which looks to predict which underperforming assets will find the net next.

Customisable Season Ticker

Sort by fixture difficulty and find out which teams’ matches rotate well using our customisable Season Ticker.

Be sure to check out all the other benefits of signing up as a member here. A full FAQ on our Members’ Area is also available here.

Spurs goal disallowed for offside, but it was clearly on. Alli with a through ball into Son, who squared it for Parrott. Would have been a Son assist.

He's very good for a 17-year-old. No fancy skill like a Mason Greenwood, but he's quick, has good movement, and solid link-up with Son. Could have had a couple of goals by now.

Spurs have a few good youngsters coming through.

Tottenham has home fixtures against Aston Villa in GW1 and Newcastle in GW3. I can definitely see points there, but the problem is I can't afford Kane. Son is suspended, Moura isn't a sure starter. What to do?

    2. Piggs Boson

Doubt it. He's quick, hard-working, and great at pressing, but has little more than that atm. Still very raw technically.

Even if he did play, I'm not sure he has the end product to be a good FPL player yet. I'm backing Greenwood to nail that RW spot over this season (though not from the start).

I don't think so. Looks like he'll be an impact sub. I like the lad and he's definitely got room to improve but right now I think his end product is too raw for him to start.

Hi guys, is the anyone thinking that it feels scary only to have 2 high priced players especially with a very budget forward line? In a scenario of kun or Kane auba etc exploding and every dude and his dog jumping on a bandwagon what do we do? Sell mo or sterling? To be able to afford it? Just feels not flexible enough.. Some of us using even a 451 or 541 formation which is even scarring any ideas how to tackle this.. Cheers

Any consideration given to Gundogan? Seems to be playing more often than he is not recently, and when he does play he's always in the thick of things. £5.5m isn't a huge risk if you've got a few on the bench who can sub in if he doesn't play.

Building a team to include him, you could go:

    4.5 (4.0)
    Trent Digne Coleman Zinchenko (4.5)
    Salah Sterling Perez Gundogan (4.5)
    Kane King (4.5)

For some reason there is a strong bias for 4.5 keepers who will probably score around 110 points but if someone plays a 4.5 like Dendoncker in starting 11 its considered a poor team. With an option like Ederson at 6 that gets you about 160 pts which might be more than what 6.0 mid gets you I don't know whats the difference between Ederson and 4.5 mid and a 4.5 gk and 6.0 mid. Psychology? Hope?

    1. Moxon

Pope got 152 points 2017/18, so there's potential for value and more money for fun attacking returns

That is a bit of lottery isn't it. I am sure majority of 4.5 keepers got much fewer points. Mili at 5 got a ton of points a couple of seasons ago for example.

Often a 6.0 mid can end up having a season like Mahrez or Alli did - that’s a LOT more points than a 4.5 kid

If I had a 4.5 keeper, I'd rotate with another 4.5. Hoping to make the most of fixtures.
eg If there's a nailed Burnley keeper, I could be tempted (if the spare 1.0 could enable other options).

A first team 4.5 mid is a wasted spot.

Having a 6.0 GK doesn't mean you have to play a 4.5 mid.

    B) Laporte and Zaha

Funny that people see Auba as a huge rotation risk but at the same time claim Sterling is relatively safe. Check their minutes from last season, you'll be surprised.

You've got a point and you've got me thinking. A player at 12.0 who is a rotation risk doesn't really sound good

He is extremely explosive though and will defo score 215+ points imo, barring injuries.

        More reliable than Aubameyang

I think Sterling is safe from rotation until CL begins

Wouldn't be surprised to see Auba and Laca to share more tme on the pitch this season than last season. Question will be who'll get the most goals of the two.

I see kane as a sure starter who'll reach 215+ points so I have him instead of both of them.

        No City mid at all?
        Or KDB/Bernardo?

Kdb and bernardo.. Though I had a draft with Kane, Sterling, Salah which wasn't half bad. Just made me rely on Pereyra who I don't trust so I binned it for now

Yep I agree. Dont have any of them myself but would definitely go with Kane for nailedness.

That sort of price point is captain territory in which case ppg is king. Its actually better to miss out 6 games than play every game if they score the same points over course of season.

    How's this looking?

    Pope
    TAA VVD Digne Zinch
    Salah KDB Siggy Perez
    Vardy Wilson
    Button Greenwood Kelly Dendonker

Feels like a decent balance to me

I had pretty similar team, but decided not to trust KdB or Vardy. Yet a lot of time to change my mind though.

Vardy and Perez may be a bit too much considering fixtures. I've gone similar but with Kane, King, coleman instead of Vardy, Wilson, digne

    Any thoughts on the following:

    A)

    Pope/Ryan
    Zinchenko (until Mendy is back)/Robertson/Digne/Bednarek/Simpson
    Maddison/Brooks/Salah/De Bruyne/Zaha
    Vardy/Jota/Ings

    or

    B)

Pope/Ryan (kinda fixed on that one)
    VVD/Laporte/Cathcart/Dunk/Kelly
    Salah/Richarlison/B.Silva/Fraser/Moutinho
    Kane/King/Ings

    Ryan
    VVD - TAA - Digne - Kelly*
    Zaha - Sigurdsson - Salah - Sterling
    Wilson - King
    (Button - Greenwood - Dendoncker - Stearman*)

I have 1.0 itb with this team. Kelly and Stearman are placeholders at this point, and I see two possible ways of spending that 1.0.

A.) Upgrade Kelly/Stearman to two 4.5's to rotate.
B.) Downgrade Zaha to a 6.5 option, and spend the 1.5 to do one of Kelly/Stearman to Zinchenko.

    Thoughts?

    Go with an attack of

    12.5 9.5 8 6.5 4.5
    11 6.5 4.5

And you can jump on any player in the game without much trouble when the bandwagons begin appearing
