How Scout Membership can help Fantasy managers in 2019/20

Full-season Fantasy Football Scout subscriptions are still available for £17.50 – that’s the equivalent of less than 39p a week.

Over the years we have added to the benefits that our Members enjoy and we will be re-investing back into the site to enhance it further in 2019/20.

The most recent addition was the new Flat-Track Bully tool, which allows Members to conduct research in greater detail.

Using this new feature (pictured below) you can exclude/include certain teams (i.e. the ‘big six’) when scrolling through the various tabs in our Player Stats section.

This will help you identify players who perhaps perform better against weaker opposition and even those who thrive against the top teams like Raúl Jiménez did in 2018/19.

We also recently put a call out for web developers and we have a number of other site improvements in the pipeline that will hopefully help our subscribers even more.

If you’re new to the benefits of Fantasy Football Scout membership, you can get full details, along with a series of movies previewing the content, via this page.

In 2018/19 we published more Members’ articles than ever before and there will be at least 150 such pieces in the 2019/20 campaign.

We also introduced Members-only comments and Hot Topics to allow for detailed discussions of content behind the pay-wall.

Our Projections and Rate My Team tools (below) have both been tweaked, with RMT’s Professor – aka Chris Atkinson – elaborating on the changes in a recent Hot Topic.

Reigning Fantasy Premier League champion Adam Levy is a paid-up Member of our site and he discussed what tools of ours he finds most useful in a recent interview.

In previous seasons we’ve helped FPL winners Tom Fenley and Simon March, while in 2015/16 we were thrilled to see Ed Masters – the winner of that year’s Members’ League – finish third in the overall rankings.

In 2017/18, Paul Gee went one better. He won our Members’ League and finished second, losing out to champion Yusuf Sheikh by just eight points.

We are hugely grateful to those who show their support by signing up as a Member each season. This continues to enable us to maintain the site, grow the Fantasy Football Scout team and develop more ideas.

Here are just some of the features you can enjoy as a subscriber:

Head-to-Head Comparisons

Compare both teams and players head to head.

Match Analysis

Analysis of every Premier League match (going back to 2011/12!), together with charts which plot average positions and our collection of heatmaps for touches, shots, chances created among other statistics.

Custom Stats Tables

Members can also create custom tables based on the data and share them with other subscribers (an example from last season is shown above).

Perhaps the most famous of these is Joe’s Goals Imminent table, which looks to predict which underperforming assets will find the net next.

Customisable Season Ticker

Sort by fixture difficulty and find out which teams’ matches rotate well using our customisable Season Ticker.

Be sure to check out all the other benefits of signing up as a member here. A full FAQ on our Members’ Area is also available here.

Appropriate that deep lying Kane scores goal from halfway line...

So is that good or bad for FPL if he plays deeper but still scores 🙂

In all seriousness, he manages to obtain points whenever he plays, whether its from scraping a pen, scoring from the halfway line or finding an assist, he collectively cultivates the goods.

Not good vfm in the current context of the game atm, though that can quickly change from GW3

How is this to start off with? Enough flexibility? Too weak of a bench? Is KWP a terrible option?

    Pope - Button
TAA - VVD - Zinchenko - Coleman - Kyle Walker Peters
    Salah - Sterling - KdB - Siggy - Dendocker
    King - Nketia - Wickham

Forwards are terrible value anyways. Would you trade sterling, salah or kdb for a premium forward?

Jimenez is back late, has EL fixtures and played a gold cup. Vardy I'm happy to wait and see. Not too much faith in Deulofeu / Jota.

In fairness your front 3 are weak.

But you don't need to spend £11m on a good striker who will get you 150-180 points.

        4. Andy_Social
          • 11 Years
          4 years, 8 months ago

You're right in asking people jumping all over Kane n the last few minutes saying he's essential whether they're happy to lose Salah or Sterling to get him.
However, I do see serious problems here. You can't shift 2 4.5 strikers. If you see a 2nd striker, quite cheap and you want him, you'll need to use 2FT or a hit to make the change. So you don't have flexibility, no.
KWP - poor choice imo. Easy GW1, City in GW3, Foyth back GW3. So you'll need to get him out very quickly too.
Your 12 other picks are fine though, but something will have to give to get better balance.

          1. Daaf
            • 8 Years
            4 years, 8 months ago

Yeah fair points. Below 6,5 is just awful this year for both forwards and midfielders.

I don't mind using 2 ft basically change formation, if rather not but if you play to 6.5's you gotta get lucky that there are enough options to actually choose from. Most of the time I'm chasing points and keep bringing strikers in that basically do nothing although this year does look somewhat better with the positional changes for Jota, Deulofeu and wood is in there too.

I'm probably biased when it comes to KWP, poch likes youth and he did really well when he played. 5.0 for spurs defence seems great value too, but the uncertainty makes him dodgy I I suppose.

            1. Andy_Social
              • 11 Years
              4 years, 8 months ago

For flexibility I think you need 2 playing strikers even as back up. 2x6.5, or King and a 6m such as Adams or DCL, or even a playing 5.5 or 5 (Andone?). Greenwood as a 3rd striker seems a safe bet though.

              1. Daaf
                • 8 Years
                4 years, 8 months ago

I can see why you would say so but at the same time they are pretty poor value, get less points for a goal and no clean sheet points.

Basically you need a scoring forward for bonus, and do jota/Deulofeu provide that? If you just want the two points aren't defenders/midfielders better options?

        1. Daaf
          • 8 Years
          4 years, 8 months ago

Thanks. Wickham is just there, will swap in greenwood. Especially if lukaku leaves.

I do like Fraser, he did well for me last year from the start, but siggy's fixtures are crazy and he has penalties. He even missed 3 last year, scoring those would have taken him to 200 so I feel kinda obliged to get him in.

Kane would be nice, and it's hard to leave him out with Villa/Newcastle so early but he struggled with injury late last season, there is the August thing as well.

And when do Liverpool and City both blank?? They are top two for a reason.

    Fab - Norris
    VVD - TAA - Zinch - Vert - Digne
    Salah - KDB - Fraser - Perez - Moura
    Wilson - Greenwood - Nketia

Thoughts? I know wdouble 4.5 striker is a risk but Ill take it as Wilson is 100% nailed.

You do mine if I do yours? I'd say moura is too punty, and quite pricey. Fab similar. I do like Wilson but 8 is expensive.

5.5 is a bit expensive for relatively low attacking returns, I'd rather wait and see the spurs full backs plus you have 4 defenders so if you downgrade him you can upgrade one of your 4.5s

All my left field starting picks came off horribly last year. Keeping it relatively safe and boring. Spurs def and Moura my biggest punts

Buendia and M.Aarons for me. Think Norwich will surprise a fair few.

How do you post a members-only post?

As far as I know, if it’s worthy of hiding the key information you have from the peasants, then it will be changed to a members only post by a mod.

Make a post with lots of member area stats. Then it's up to the mods if it should be restricted to members only

Use stats from the members area to get your point across i guess.

This. See also Coleman and Spurs defenders.

Basically only a defender is good value at 5.5 unless you’re talking a fodder to free up funds.

Let’s see how Zouma is priced.

      Loads of variables in that.

      But for me, Coleman probably.

No forwards or mids. Zink or Coleman in defence, Pickford, Lloris and De Gea if you can't fork out 6m on a goalie.

Norwood (5mil), main creator of team, takes many setpieces. Took pen in friendly yesterday.

Pretty happy with my team, but cant decide between...
    A: Kane, Jota, Fraser
    B: King, Jota, Sterling
Already have KDB for covering city so would double up with Sterling

I'd be tempted to go A if you're going to captain Kane GW 1 or 3.

Hmmm very difficult, what about Jota, Brooks + Sterling?

In essence it's kane v sterling regardless of the others.

Everyone will have their preference, so go with the one you think is best

    A - Kane, KdB, 4.5 mid
B - Sterling, Siggy, 4.5 fwd (not greenwood)

How are Spurs going to line up this season? Hearing it could be a diamond four in midfield with Ndombele left and Sissoko right, which would mean Kane up front with either Son or Moura. Does that sound likely?

Selecting the right premiums at the right time looks like it could be the biggest factor this year. Impossible to afford Kane, Sterling and Salah, sadly. I can really see Kane exploding first few weeks, particularly in those easy home fixtures as he'll be easy to make up for lost time in the new stadium. But will he match or better Sterling, and does he even have to for 1m cheaper? Such a difficult call.

I've all but talked myself into Kane and Salah from the start for captaincy. I'd rather have Kanne v Newcastle (H) than Sterling v Bournemouth (A)..... I think!

I can have all 3, the only sacrifice I have to make is siggy to perez

It is, but 'right time' doesn't compute with me. The 'right premiums' for me are the class acts, fixture-proof, the season keepers. You don't drop them after a couple of potless games. So for me, it's about hoping I've made the right call and sticking with them, injury aside, through thick and thin. My current draft is going without Salah to have Sterling and Kane - I know the risk.

The more I think about it, the more going KDB over Sterling makes sense. We know KDB has a 200+ point season in his locker, and most wont be captaining Sterling often anyway. You can still make a decent team with Kane, Salah & KDB.

    Thoughts on this

    Pope
    TAA VVD Coleman Zinchenko
    Salah Sterling Fraser Lucas
    Wilson Deulofeu

    Button Kelly Dendoncker Greenwood

Well for a start Zinchenko is a great option. Mendy out till at least mid-september and Angelino looking bad in pre season
