Do we think Jota is still a good shout despite Europa games being so close

    Also, that United fixture GW2

Don't think United fixture is a worry in itself. Wolves attack generally is fairly fixture proof. He could easily have got a couple against Liverpool late season from memory

Very similar here. Lacazette is my flavour of the month, and that would give you 1.5m to bolster elsewhere.

At the very least, I think you need to turn King into Wilson. I know King is likely to be on pens but Wilson leads the line.

Morning all,I'm running my cash league again this season, if anyone is interested.

£10 in, last year I paid down to 5th and there were about 50 entrants.

I've ran it for 4 years now, plenty here will vouch for me I'm sure.

If you want to enter, email me at johntrigg83@gmail.com. Cheers!

Currently only on 2 premium defenders, but might fold and get Robbo and TAA just to avoid picking the wrong one!

I'm in the Origi one week punt risk though 😀

Only 2 weeks left of the window. West Ham and Leicester have done well so far, underwhelming for everyone else. (Villa have signed a lot of players, but don't know if that's a good thing!)

One possible difference is that Fulham kept buying up to the deadline. If Villa stop here they can still build a coherent whole that can bind in preseason imo

West Ham have literally lost a tonne of depth, we made two marquee signings and failed to fill in the gaps we’ve left. Still desperately need an LB and a back up CDM and CB. A striker too is definitely required if Hernandez goes

I'm not a fan, but I think Norwood is dark horse territory. He's on set pieces too, and was rated their best player (according to WhoScored) last season.

Sounds like he should be good choice. Need a guaranteed starter as my 5th midfielder, for back-up when one of the big boys doesn't play. Like the look of him instead of one of the Chelsea £5m.

Oddschanger current top goalscorer odds. Now I'm considering Kane...

    Harry Kane – 4/1

    Mohamed Salah – 5/1

    Sergio Aguero – 6/1

    Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – 7/1

    Sadio Mane – 12/1

    Raheem Sterling – 18/1

    Gabriel Jesus – 25/1

    Jamie Vardy – 25/1

    Alexandre Lacazette – 28/1

    Romelu Lukaku – 28/1

    Roberto Firmino – 33/1

    Marcus Rashford – 40/1

    Paul Pogba – 40/1

    Callum Wilson – 50/1

    Raul Jimenez – 50/1

    Son-Heung Min – 66/1

    Olivier Giroud – 66/1

More surprising stats there are that Pogba is 40/1 and Wilson is 50/1.
Pogba only 0.5m more in FPL and obviously more points as a midfield...I'll be amazed if he does score more than Wilson, I'm just saying this is surprising.
      ....and Jiminez!!

Jesus, more likely than Lacazette?...what is this?

If not Kane then at least another premium striker is a good idea. Any of Kane, Aguero or Aubameyang could hit form early on and owning one from the start would make it easy to bring the right one in

Like others I am nervous about the nailedness of Zinchenko and am not certain I will definitely play an early WC so thinking Ederson may be the way forward. It means a bit of shuffling but what do you think of this?

    Ederson
    TAA, VVD, Digne, Dunk
    Salah, Sterling, Perez, Fraser/ Moura
    Wilson, Deulo
    (Button) (Dendo, Greenwood, Kelly)

As some have also mentioned, pre-season hasn't been massively enlightening so far, which just makes this tinkering all the more frustrating!

    Cheers for your thoughts 🙂

bench boost with Hayden, Dendoncker and Stephens in your team? Why?

Worth having Norwood at 5.0 there.

What sort of bench are you looking at for your BB? I'm not happy using transfers to get put money on my bench just for one week.

What’s the best score people have managed to achieve using the Rate My Team tool.

    I’m currently at 362

tbh, I don't use it. Makes too many assumptions about starting players and non-players.

I used it last year mid season to compare my team with Mark’s. My team had a score of around 340 whereas Mark had over 370. He finished the season inside top 2000, obviously I didn’t.

I think it has some merits. For example my current draft team scores 349 so not far off the max I can achieve with the tool.

Now if someone has managed a score of 370+ then I might have to rethink.

I like it when the season's underway and the data is valuable. At this point I don't find it useful.

All will score similarly over the season. I’d Dunk goes to Leicester then B, if not then......... Diop maybe

B or C, a lot of people liking Smith at Bournemouth too. If going C would definitely pick Balbuena over Diop, much more of a goal threat from set pieces

I won’t lie, pretty happy with this Kane, Sterling, Salah draft, can’t see it changing drastically unless there are major transfers like Zaha:

    Leno • Button
    Cathcart • VVD • Diop • Taylor • Kelly
    Salah • Sterling • Fraser • Tielemans • Dendonker
    Kane • King • Deulofeu

If a good West Ham / Chelsea mid emerges, I can always move things around

Cathcart, Diop and Taylor won’t get you many points at all. Also, no Robbo or Taa seems like suicide

      1. The Wise Owl
        • 8 Years

Depends on rotation. Cathcart and Taylor have some good games to rotate for.

Possibly. I’m more scared of not owning the likes of Kane than TTA or Robbo tbh.

Looks good to me! Could work out well with most (on here at least) going big on defence this year.

I get the Robbo/TAA comments but on the flip side you may catch people out quite often with captaincy picks. E.g. you can punt on Kane v Villa or similar without too much fear knowing you'll get half Salah's points anyway.

Made a few sacrifices from my original team to get big 3 in thoughts????

    Ryan (Button)
    Robertson Zinchenko Digne (Diop Kelly)
    Salah Siggy Bilva Fraser Dendonker
    King Kane Deulofeu

    Or

    Ryan (Button)
    VVD Zinchenko Digne (Laudstrom Kelly)
    Salah Siggy Sterling Perez Dendonker
    King Kane Greenwood

Can I ask why? Great fixture run, on pens (hello VAR) & most set pieces, history of scoring from distance even when the team is playing poorly/against a top side... I think 8.0 is a tough price point but Sig is a classic FPL player

I would downgrade Siggy to 5.5 (Robinson or Trezeguet), get a good 4th defender and put Greenwood on the bench where he will be for United

You're forced to play a 4.5 every week, and if anyone is rested you can't put out a full side.

Wow why the sudden lack of Siggy. Thought he was a good choice and certainly in the template. Am I missing some recent news?

No. It's because after you've blown your budget on those 3, you need to spread the rest very thinly indeed at he's too expensive for what you have left.

I'm perplexed as to why today there's a sudden rush of RMTs determined to wreck their squads by crowbarring Salah, Sterling and Kane in. Think I'll take a break until sanity returns.
