FanTeam

€250,000 in prizes up for grabs with FanTeam this season

Fantasy Football Scout are delighted to announce our partnership with FanTeam for the 2019/20 season.

This year they are offering €250,000 in prizes for their Premier League cash game for an entry fee of €25.

First place will take home €50,000 and finishing in the world’s top 20 will trigger a payout of at least €1,500 – and that’s not all.

FanTeam are also offering additional weekly and monthly prizes to sweeten the deal.

Experienced Fantasy managers should be very excited about this cash league as FanTeam‘s game is very similar to FPL.

That includes the pricing structure, with only minor differences between the cost of assets from FPL to FanTeam.

Prize Structure

The €250,000 prize pot is spread among the top 15%, which gives even non-professional players a good chance to recover their buy-in fee.

That first prize of €50,000 is hugely appealing and it is certainly a realistic aim for members of our community.

The entry for this competition is capped at 12,000 which greatly increases your chances of winning compared to FPL, for example.

This all translates into the following prize structure:

Prize Structure Main Event

Additional Side-Events

FanTeam also offers additional chances to win prizes on a weekly and monthly basis.

That means even if you fall behind on the overall tournament, you can still win big by putting in decent short-term performances.

A manager of the month award will earn the winner €1,000 and securing a manager of the Gameweek award will land you €250.

FanTeam’s 2019/20 PL Rules

As previously stated, the rules are very similar to what FPL managers will be used to, with only minor changes.

First, the scoring system has no bonus points built into it.

Instead, an ‘impact’ factor is applied, which awards players with a negative or positive point, depending on whether his team was winning or losing with him on the pitch.

Secondly, FanTeam has no chips. as they prefer to keep things simpler.

However, they do offer two Wildcards, which can be used to change the entire team.

Thirdly, price changes on FanTeam appear at more random times than we might be used to with FPL.

They will appear when a dramatic increase or decrease in demand occurs.

This is slightly different to the fixed time frames for price changes on the regular FPL.

Fourthly, unlike FPL, there is no tax applied on a price increase when you sell a player.

This means that if a player is worth 7.0m and increases to 7.5m, then 7.5m is the amount you would receive by selling this player.

In short, selling and buying prices are identical through the season.

If player A is worth 7.0m and increases to 7.3, then 7.3 is the amount both to sell and buy this player.

Looking ahead

If you enjoy official FPL, but want the chance to win a bit of money down the road, FanTeam is a game you should try out.

One of the best aspects of it is that you can largely copy your FPL team and play it on FanTeam, since the prices and the design of the game are so similar, meaning it does not take much management.

We at Scout are already enjoying FanTeam’s website and can’t wait for the season to start.

While are focus remains on the mainstream FPL game, we will have more FanTeam content between now and the start of Gameweek 1.

Little bit concerned at the side wolves put out in their first Europa League tie. Pretty much full strength with even Jimenez coming on despite playing a cup final barely a week ago. Hope they won't be "Burnlied" coming into the PL season.

But IIRC Burnley didn't start well last season. Maybe with a 2-0 lead, they'll ease up in the second leg, but it's too narrow just to put the kids out.

It's going to be tough start for them imo.
Will stay clear at the start as they are looking likely to qualify for next round

The difference is they managed to play every 3/4 days at the end of last season and still perform - now they’ve had a rest bar jimmy

I don’t expect it to hurt them so early on

      JOTA – 9
The Spaniard is well known to Dean Smith after the pair worked together a Brentford – and the ex-Birmingham player showed why the Villa boss made a Bee-line for him again.

He had a hand in three of Villa’s four first half goals.

He opened the scoring from close range, then played in a neat pass for Wesley to score number two.

Jota then made it four for Villa with a low drive at the near post just before the break.

He looked to be playing more of a central role at times with Smith looking for a goal threat from him.

I really want Villa to do well (sentimental attachment) and also want a Villa asset early but each new transfer makes me more nervous. In principle I’m looking at players who are in settled sides/combinations.

Wasn’t the Hourihane Grealish McGinn combo key late season? Is McGinn still tied on?

Having purged my squad of Everton, I've got it down to deciding which 4.5 defender to rotate with Dunk. Planning to get rid of King ASAP. Punt on Wesley. Leaving 0.5 ITB for possible upgrades after GW1. What do you think?

    Ederson
    Robbo TAA LaPorte Dunk
    Salah Sterling Fraser Tielemans
    King Wesley
    Button Guilbert(?) Greenwood Donkey

Pretty good. I've got a 2x4.5 defender issue too. Dunk at Brighton combines okay with a West Ham 4.5.
      I'm on a Burnley/Villa combo myself.

Not if you're smart. You buy premium defenders for their defensive AND attacking returns.
Look at top gun Robbo last season - where did he win his points - with his 12 assists, or his 21 clean sheets?

It's looks great til the rotating 11 spot. Something has got to give. Players priced the way they are pretty well. Getting 10 we want is easy enough it is the 11th player or that .5 or 1.0 more that's the killer.

Solid team but does seem a little weak in defence. As far as KSS teams go it’s actually really nice.

Waddaguy! But I'm not clear - did he tell Ozil to flee, or did Ozil just scarper and leave his mate to face knifemen alone? Appreciate the wives were in the car.

Fair play to Kola. The comments underneath about this being the first time they've seen him defend made me chuckle tho...

    Ederson
    Robertson TAA VVD Walker Digne
    Sterling Fraser Zaha
    Kane(c) King

Should i downgrade ederson to 4.5 and upgrade the attackers?

I don’t see a reason to do so, there’s not much more you can upgrade with the attackers. Obviously people will question No Salah but the triple defence is something I’ve considered myself so I understand it. Not too sure about Zaha though, feel like Pérez, Jota or Tielemans could be better choices.

    How about my new draft?

    Leno
    Zinchenko, VVD, Coleman (Hanley, Kelly)
    Sterling, Salah, Perez, Richarlison, Moura
    Wilson, Jota (Greenwood)

Team looks very solid, only part that is uncertain is Leno with some decent 4.5 options around. Love the Rich pick, he starts so well.

Had last season ended around GW15 this team wouldn’t have raised eyebrows. I’m really tempted

    4.5
    TAA VVD Alonso Holebas
    Sane Rich Gross Fraser
    Kane Auba

    Mo wasn’t essential
    Sane was matching Sterling
Alonso was still in loads of squads
Kane and Auba were the key golden boot contenders

Mo has yet to play a game and I’m sworn off him in any event and had more fun without him last time.

Don’t see Sterling as critical in 1 and 2 and he’s an easy double transfer away in 3

Sane is looking good and likely to play if Bayern dont snaffle him

Kane and Auba have great combined fixtures in 123

Alonso Holebas and no Leicester are my worries!

It’s much less crazy than it appears imo.

Spuds and Arsenal may have good fixtures but Kane not showing much in pre-season at all bar the 'wonder-lob'. I've gone Auba and Moura - feels good and saves 3.5m.

            True about Kane

He’s a fixed point in my side until he gets crocked though and then he’s perma gone - the one most possible exception being if Vardy really tears it up early and he’s stalling. One simple move. But right now fixtures and value are too good for me to pass over.

In GW2 I’ll quite possibly have the top of the captain poll when no one else much will imo. As I say no Sterling is a two week call.

Wonder what Denos price will be this season. Honestly tempted to have him as my first GK if he's 4.5m. Pen saves possible, would expect multiple save points and even cleansheet quite a lot at home.

Azpilicueta and Luiz are probably better value since they’re cheaper. After the United fixture I actually like Chelsea’s matches but unless they go back to the 3-4-3 I dunno if Alonso will reach his glory days again.

So you like that they go up against Leicester, Wolves and Liverpool in the next 5? And that is not including the United fixture. I dont see the appeal of Chelsea defenders at this point.

Honestly yeah I do. Obviously they will probably concede against Liverpool but i can see them keeping clean sheets against both wolves and Leicester. The united game is a tricky one but the thing is that i see chelsea defenders just being a smart investment over the season. They can easily become everton defenders too but with uncertainties over their defensive capabilities with the departure of Gueye then people are gonna look for other options and long term I think chelsea are decent. Just my two cents :]

Most of them seem to be using him as a means to downgrade to Son once he’s back. Guess they expect Sané to play/score more than KDB which I honestly doubt will happen.

Not a downgrade - stright swap. Sane, KdB, Son all 9.5

Reports are Kun won't be ready for GW1 and Sterling will play CF. Likely means Sane starts and Kev drops deeper.
