Summer signings may be key to Everton’s FPL appeal

Our latest Numbers Game article focuses on Everton, who many Fantasy managers are backing in their droves ahead of some appealing fixtures in the first 13 Gameweeks of 2019/20.

The Toffees sit top our Season Ticker over this time, meeting only two of the ‘big six’ between now and the end of December.

Not one of their first six away fixtures is against a side that finished in the top half of the Premier League in 2018/19.

The Numbers Game series delves into the underlying attacking and defensive statistics of last season and is only available for Members to read.

    thoughts on my team?

    Heaton 4.0
    Zik KWP VVD TAA 4.0

As a Salah Sterling Kane alternative, it seems solid. Strong!

Are you keen on Kane mate?

Stronger bench needed, Heaton, Zinchenko and Barkley aren't nailed, and Walker-Peters will probably only start the first two before being rotated.

    Bottomed, sorry!

Mates, currently with this setup, with 0.5 itb to upgrade a mid if needed after 1 or 2 GWs:

    Ryan
    Coleman, TAA, Robertson
    Robinson, Salah, KDB, Sterling, Perez
    King, Deulofeu

    Feeback pls?

    Thanks a lot!

I guess KDB Salah Sterling trio takes a good part, plus the double premium defence from Pool.

Anyways, thank you for your feedback mate

Would you swap KDB for Moura, and spread the lolly around? No?
          Maybe VVD instead of Robbo?

          1. EgyptianKing
            • 5 Years

Thank you for the suggestion. I think Moura is a great pick for GW1, but after that it becomes a tricky one imo.

I think City will show attacking power and the Sterling / KDB duo is something that is appealing to me currently. However not 100% decided on that.

What is your view on Kane? Worth to have, namely if already owning both Salah and Sterling?

The Kane-in alternative for me is:
            Ryan
            Coleman, VVD, Robertson, Chenko
            Robinson, Perez, Salah, Sterling
            King, Kane

And, to finalize, the one that I think gives me more flexibility, with any of the “weak” mids being swapped to more in-form alternatives if needed:
            Ryan
            Digne TAA Robertson Chenko
            Fraser, Salah, Sterling, Perez
            Wilson, Deulofeu

Sorry for the huge text lol

            Cheers mate

Yeah. I have Kane. Can that team be afforded? It is very good ...

Imo, TAA is a better bet than Robbo.

Leaning towards Lloris in goal. Set n forget (hopefully) and you know what you’re getting ~140 points for the season. Is it a waste of money getting Ryan or Pope as backup? That’s 10m which is the same as Ederson/Allison and 4m who may not ever play

    Ryan

    TAA VVD Zinchenko

    Salah Sterling Perez Martial Anderson

    Wilson Ings

    Bench fodder x3 + Diop

Happy with that I think. Wilson to Kean in gameweek 3 once he's integrated into the Everton side (assuming they get him in). Ings and Diop rotate nicely in the short term.

Only this afternoon it was Adams over Ings. I'll probably go back and forth on those two. Adams seems to have the form and the strength. Ings has the pedigree and the penalties.

The keeper situation is doing my head in. Ryan has the fixtures but I think their defence will be shocking. Gunn, Henderson and Pope will probably have decent defences but the fixtures aren't ideal.

If Heaton joins villa they have the fixtures. Ings just feels a transfer waiting to happen no matter what. Penalties would be huge though at the same price as Adams hm very tricky

With Foyth twisting his ankle according to Pochettino today against Bayern and Aurier out with a broken hand and yet to return to training, it’s looking like KWP is nailed for the first 4 weeks of the season at least. Anyone tempted?

We might see some great budget short term teams with wildcards planned 3-4 weeks after.

Looking at the news, can see Aurier coming back sooner than later. Maybe KWP is only good for 1-2 weeks max.

Good for few GWs - KWP/Zouma (share mins with Foyth/Rudiger)

        Long term option: Duffy.

Why do people say things like "I dont mind fixtures because Wolves do pretty well against the top sides" as if its an argument against making the most out of fixtures (by not having Wolves at the start). You realize every team has to play all the teams right? The fixtures are relatively bad so even if they do "pretty well" its still the worst time to own them during the season. Unless they are a magical team that somehow perform worse against worse opposition. Same goes for Leicester assets.

Tbf, there's a difference between the team doing well and certain assets in that team doing well. Wolves' style last season lent itself to counter attacking goals against the big six. However their defence didn't perform as well so while they as a team will struggle against top six, they'll have certain players who won't (at least not to the same extent). It's why I have Perez.

Because form vs fixtures means that some people will be put off certain players/teams against top teams. Lukaku, when he was playing regularly, was a flat track bully and the opposite. Wolves play poorer teams they should be beating and put out a mediocre performance. They go up against a top 4 team and it's like night and day.

They still score more goals and concede less against the poorer sides is my point. Just like every other team.

How would you save 1.0M in this team?

    Pope - 4.0
    TAA - Robbertson - Zinchenko - Digne - Lundstam
    Sterling - Salah - Perez - Barkley - Dendonker
    Vardy - Wilson - Greenwood

Prefer Robertson to TAA. SSK doesn't leave enough funds for the rest of the team, and you don't need that many captaincy dilemmas each week.

Am I right in thinking it’s better to get a 4.5 forwards who’s price is guaranteed to stay the same than get in Greenwood. Surely i’ll be transferring him out in no time when ownership bombs after a week or 2? Waste of a transfer!

I have similar worries with Kelly and Dendoncker but you’d have to consider the fact that people are unlikely to spend a transfer on fodder in any case

I've been his personal propagandist here. I (biased as I may be) think he'll be a bargain as we're playing some nice attacking football. If Bruno and/or Dybala joins then his appeal is heightened. Fixtures aren't terrible either.
