NUFC fan here, we certainly won't play 4-2-3-1 as others are insinuating, Bruce has made it pretty clear he's going with three at the back from his first couple of games in charge, he's refusing to let Clark go as we need extra CB cover, and it's the formation we looked best in last season under Rafa.

Though he clearly likes Shelvey and I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up in a midfield three at the expense of one of the attacking mids.

As for Longstaff, the Carrick comparison is fairly accurate I would say, but perhaps closer to his more box to box Spurs years than his sitting mid ones later at Man Utd.

He's capable of banging one in from distance but I wouldn't be banking on him for regular goals, a 2 point merchant that might pick up the occasional extra here and there. Personally, if you want to be playing someone cheap, I'd be paying the extra .5 for McGinn/Ceballos, or even stretching to the 6m mids. Otherwise save the ££££ and have Dendoncker (who might still provide a set piece threat) et al.

Nice team but no salah or sterling is dangerous. Maybe upgrade siggy drop vardy. Also prefer Barkley to Grealish assuming he starts (would of thought he will until he plays poorly)
