How Man City assets changed towards the end of 2018/19

Manchester City options are likely to form the bedrock of Fantasy Premier League teams again this season.

However, selecting the right ones might prove challenging in the early part of the season.

In this latest article, we take a look at how they performed last season and what trends were set at different stages of the campaign.

As this uses data from the Fantasy Football Scout members area, only those who have signed up for the 2019/20 season can access it in full.

Holding is very good. They are however linked with a loan with obligation to buy Umtiti of barca which would be an unreal move and leave arsenal with maybe the second best team in the league behind city

Holding before he got injured last season was doing really well and if we don't sign a centre back, he will be starting most weeks alongside Sokratis as those 2 are currently our best defenders

You'd think Fredericks as a wingback would deliver more, but if you look at his record last season, he actually delivered naff all.

I think he was injured but they don’t have a lot of options at RB so I think he is pretty much nailed on. Any hammers fans on here to confirm whether he has played any decent pre season games

From a fellow Devonian too. 🙂
I hadn’t considered him myself until I got talked round. He’s being deployed as a RWB and with Brighton apparently playing a more attacking style of football, I think he’s as good a pick as anyone.
Can always swap to someone else if he doesn’t pan out. Ty

I need some suggestions for a 3rd striker. Need someone who plays regularly, perfectly fit, and within 7.0 or less. Please suggest the best option and give me your reasons. Thanks.

At 7m Abraham at Chelsea, but maybe not that sharp.
6.5m Jota - great striker but EL factor
6.5m Wood at Burnley - finished last season well and on fire in pre-season. Tricky early fixtures
6.5 King - easy opening fixtures, not that sharp
Deeney and Deulofeu at Watford - nice opening fixtures
Below 6.5 quality either takes a dive or are new to PL. For fixtures, Wesley might be worth a punt.

      1. FPL Mountaineer
        • 6 Years

I had Deulofeu at the start but seeing that he's having injury woes, I'm looking for an ideal replacement. I don't trust King enough, so I guess Jota could be the only realistic option. Deeney could be another given the fixtures as you said. I'll consider that. Thanks.

If City and LFC field full strength XIs today and the pre season form of both continues...

Do you keep faith in double LFC defence?
Do you double up on City attack?

No doubt with the fixtures you will want 3*LFC though. Maybe Firmino becomes a more attractive option today.

    1. Qaiss

Value up front is difficult to find, but Firmino will be a great option for when they play us in GW3. He always, always scores big against us for some strange reason

      Zladan, I chose;
      Bur/Bur
      Liv/Liv/Cit/Tot/Lec
      Cit/Cit/Tot/Man/Lec
      Bou/Wat/Man

Gameweeks 16 & 29 see the side have 3 players up against Liv/Cit, (2 or less every other week).
Gameweeks 12 & 32 see Liv vs Cit ..... so of course I already know when I'm using my free hit.

I have Kane in but Fraser and a pool defender out. I have had Kane in and out several times but finished off thinking he is a must have striker.

Robbo to VVD and Zinc to Walker makes the same trick if you want to keep Digne.

Why is the above article talking about City towards the end of the season? They were obviously going to tighten up a bit and see games out in the final stretch as they went for the title.

Also it should note that City have reopened talks about signing the right back from Juventus so Walker may not be the secure pick claimed in the above.

Agree. End of season nerves aswell as other competitions. City’s line up for the last couple games is nothing like the one that will start this season

Long time reader...maybe my 1st post. Greatly appreciate any feedback.
    Pope/Ryan
    Coleman/TAA/Zinchenko/Targett/Lundst.
    Fraser/Sterling/Perez/Pulisic/Pepe
    King/Origi/Haller
    £2m in the bank

My thought too...maybe 1st 2 games but alot of risk after that. I feel fading Salah makes the team really lopsided but reckon Mane at least will b benched 1st game.

Any advice on this team would be a big help:
    Pope (Button)
    TAA VVD Zinchenko (Taylor) (Lundstram)
    Salah Sterling Perez Barkley Mcginn
    Auba Adams (Greenwood)

Looking to rotate Mcginn and Taylor depending on fixture

Can’t make my mind about which time:

    A)
    Pope,
    TAA, Laporte, VVD
    Salah, Perez, McGinn, Sterling, Sig
    Wilson, Jota

    B)
    Pope,
    TAA, Digne, VVD
    Salah, Perez, McGinn, KDB
    Wilson, Auba/Kane, Jota

Bench on both teams are fodder

    Hi Guys

Well off template I think - please let me know your views

    Pope / Button
TAA / Coleman / Bertrand (Montoya / Diop)
    Sterling / KDB / Pedro / Perez / Fornals
    Kane / Adams / Wesley

Not sure if I'm trying to be too clever but aiming to use this for around first 6/7 weeks.

    Any advice much appreciated

Nice, Fornals and Pedro could be great differentials. Only 1 Liverpool player could be an issue though.

      • 5 Years

Think there are just too many differential picks in there, Adams, Wesley and Fornals are unproven In the Prem being the main 3 and while it could work out and give you a great start could equally backfire and put you a long way behind the field

    Do i...

A). Go VVD to Robertson (have TAA)

    B). 5th defender increase to 4.5

    C). Increase 4m second keeper to 4.5m

A: no real need imo… might be wrong
B: any real value to the points you'll gain
      C: def no imo
D: bank the .5. better having it on hand rather than wasting -4 on trying to free it up later if needed for transfer target

    Latest draft:

    Fabianski (button)
    Digne, TAA, Laporte, (Kelly, Simpson)
    Salah, Sterling, Perez, Robinson, KDB
    (Greenwood), King, Deulefaou

I like it but I think there is one more move to be made. I had Siggi/Barkley but switched to KDB/Robinson but had to downgrade Robbo to Digne

    Robinson/Siggi/Barkley

    Or

    KDB/Robinson(SHU)/Digne

Assuming City don't sign a new centre back, don't y'all think Stones is the cheapest safest route into that City defense?

Walker now has competition with Cancelo (if he arrives) and Zinchenko while I think will be first choice still has competition from Angelino and Mendy.

Whilst Stones still has Otamendi chasing him for the spot, I think Stones will be less threatened by rotation as compared to Zinchenko or Walker.

    Thoughts?

    1. Ask Yourself

Wouldn’t be desperate for a city defence with stones in. Feel he can easily lose his place to Ota

Yep, I’d go with Stones if they weren’t playing West Ham away and then Spurs. Then Bournemouth. Might not keep a CS until GW4.

Or they’ll wipe the floor in every game.
