FPL Question Time – Consult our panel ahead of Gameweek 1

FPL Question Time returns for the 2019/20 campaign and we are inviting Fantasy Football Scout users to submit their questions ahead of Friday’s Gameweek 1 deadline.

Be it premium midfielders, ‘big six’ assets, five at the back, £4.0m options or any other subject you’re musing on, be sure to ask your question via the Google Form below.

As per last season, we have recruited the services of some familiar names from our site and on social media to share their opinion on the subjects you raise.

Who’s on the panel this week?

FPL General – Contributor to the Scout site who has three finishes inside the top 400 in the last five seasons and who has a huge following on Twitter. General – aka Mark – also appeared on the official FPL Show last season.

Who Got the Assist? – Tom and Nick run one of Twitter’s most active Fantasy accounts and run their very own blog, also producing an excellent regular podcast.

FPL Family – Lee and Sam run the popular Fantasy podcast and Twitter account. They were guests on the FPL Show last season.

Ted / Rotation’s Alter Ego – Moderator and the site’s recently appointed Assistant Community Manager. Ted finished 633rd in the world last season.

James / HamezMace  – A long-term member of and frequent poster to the Fantasy Football Scout site.

Tom / avfc82 – A long-term member of and frequent poster to the Fantasy Football Scout site. Tom has a remarkable five top 1,000 finishes to his name in ten years of playing FPL.

    Hi guys after weeks of tinkering here is my first rate my team.
    I’ve opted for Ings as it looks like he is on pens although I am slightly worried he will get injured!

      I'm on Ings too. As long as you accept he will cost you a 1 point and a transfer at some point, he should be good for a few goals before then.

      R.e. your team, I'd personally move some funds forward and bolster your forward line, as King is partial to the odd injury too, and after all, strikers are there to score goals...

          Deeney - think he's a great option. Good price, on pens, Watford have good fixtures
          Kane - good fixtures, quality player
          Ings - Soton are underrated but their manager has them ticking and their fixtures are alright.

          I really wanted Wilson but decided to go Sterling and Salah, so with Kane I couldn't afford him.

          FWIW I'm not convinced about Digne, so you could downgrade him to generate more funds. Everton aren't playing well, they rarely start well, and whilst he'll offer a goal threat, his CS potential is fairly low, and Siggy will manipulate set pieces. I dont think he's worth 6m.

          Also, be wary of Greenwood. He's got quite a high ownership so if he fails to feature in the first few weeks, his value will nosedive

      Pep was hopeful that Laporte could feature today which suggests the 'knock' is not serious.

      Re. TAA - That was my concern last season before Gomez picked up an injury. I 'think' Matip is the player most likely to miss out, although there will be lots of rotation around UCL.

    Should there be a separate rate my team thread like at times towards end of last season?

    Every rate my team currently come down to a few key decisions

    A) Formation (4-4-2 or 4-3-3 or 3-4-3 typically)
    B) Salah or no Salah
    C) premium (Kane/ Auba) or no premium striker
    D) Sterling or no Sterling

    And then there are more minor decisions such as:

    I) Zinchenko vs Laporte
    II) TAA vs Robbo vs vvd
    III) Digne vs Coleman
    IV) Sterling vs KDB
    V) best 6.5-8 mids (siggy, Fraser, Perez, Tielmans).

          Rico and Hayden/Dendoncker (unless wolves sign a CM) are dead cheap and play. Montoya (4.5m) defender playing RWB for Brighton. There you have a very nice very cheap defence
