Which Spurs players are worth owning in FPL this season?

Tottenham Hotspur players are causing some Fantasy Premier League managers dilemmas at the start of the season.

They have a favourable opening fixture at home to Aston Villa but with a trip to Manchester City in Gameweek 2 and relatively expensive price points, their assets could be the ones to miss out on those initial teams.

However, there are some encouraging reasons to own some of Mauricio Pochettino’s players at the start of the new campaign.

In this article we assess Spurs’ defensive and attacking potential based on last season’s underlying statistics.

As this analysis uses data from the Fantasy Football Scout Members Area, only those who have signed up for the 2019/20 season can access it in full.

      Almiron is very punty for 6.0. His all round play is good and he keeps looking like scoring then either fluffs it or hits the woodwork so not sure he's a good FPL option.

        No way I can squeeze 0.5 to do that. Mina seems to have some attacking threat from set pieces from what I’ve seen of him and I do want an Everton defender.

            I’m definitely tempted to do it. I could play it even safer and get Keane, but I quite like the idea of having him. I did just see though that he’s in a spot of bother with the FA for appearing in a betting advert.

        I reckon Keane and Mina are pretty nailed. Same price as Coleman too, so there’s still a way into that defence for those fixtures. Not sure about KWP...

      Yep same here, dropped 4.5 benchable defender for fodder to upgrade to Digne. 6.0 is quite steep for an Everton defender but nailed and offensive makes it worthwhile now because of Sidibe.

      Quite like this team. Quite different to those you see every day but every player can do some damage. I guess you are aware that Zinchenko is a risk. Also what do you reckon about Barkley - you think he’s a definite starter or you happy to take the risk?

        Can’t see who else would play LB for city tbh, Laporte is too good at CB to waste at LB (at least that’s what I’m hoping! Barkley for me is going to hit a new level under lampard - not many better players to get advice from as a CM and he’s looked on it in pre season.

      Because they didn't have to watch him in countless games last season falling over all the time, arguing with refs and not looking like scoring. They concentrate on the games scored at the end of the season and him now being in a better team and being classed as a mid.

      I genuinely think he could do really well and prove to be a bargain in FPL terms, but there is a nagging doubt given his inconsistent goal threat at Newcastle.
