Which Watford players should FPL managers consider in 2019/20?

It’s as you were for Watford going into the start of the 2019/20 campaign.

At the time of writing and with just 24 hours before the transfer window closes, the Hornets had made only two first-team signings this summer – one of them Danny Welbeck.

Centre-half Craig Dawson (£5.0m) has arrived from West Bromwich Albion and he was the only player not on the books in 2018/19 who was involved in Watford’s final pre-season friendly against Real Sociedad last weekend.

Javi Gracia’s side are also set to be lining up in their familiar 4-2-2-2/4-4-2 shape, with the Watford boss having briefly experimented with a three-man backline in their penultimate friendly against QPR.

      Auba had 36 big chances last season.. 36! Banking on him exploding in the first 2 games.. Then il downgrade /swap to Kane if needed.

      Douglas Luiz is worth adding to your watch list. He may not start to begin with but I can see Smith easing him in as the #1 CDM for Villa over 3/4 games.

    After more than 50 hours of research and playing around I have my team.
    Going to a music festival tomorrow so this will not change.

    Heaton, Button
    TAA, Robertson, Digne, Zinchenko, Lundstram
    Salah, Fraser, Perez, Barkley, Dendoncker
    Auba, Wilson, Ings

    Heaton - hopefully the best of the £4.5m keepers.
    Button - the only £4m keeper who may actually make it onto the pitch.
    TAA - same PPG as premium mids and atts.
    Robertson - the only player I owned all 38 weeks last season.
    Digne - excellent opening fixtures and good assist potential.
    Zinchenko -potential to be very under priced, 5.7 ppg (thanks Ludo) if he was a defender in the second half of last season.
    Lundstram - 3rd sub, bonus if he manages a few starts.
    Salah - The best captaincy candidate for opening fixtures, will probably be the highest scoring player in the game again.
    Fraser - great opening couple of fixtures, good against week opposition.
    Perez - potential to be very under priced, OOP
    Barkley - risky but great potential to be under priced.
    Dendoncker -2nd sub, should make it onto the pitch which is useful.
    Auba - great two opening fixtures, excellent points per 90 mins.
    Wilson - PPG nearly identical to Kane last year.
    Ings - Best of the £6m options, can be benched week 2.

    Week 3 Fraser and Auba to Sterling and £6/6.5 striker is the plan.

    How's it looking?

      Love everything except for the fact you're planning transfers.

      There is no way the transfers you're planning now will be the ones you want to make come GW3, unless you've made a big mistake not getting Sterling

        Completely fixture driven, doesn't matter what Auba and Sterling score in the first two weeks, that transfer will be made to give me the best captaincy option. By my projections Fraser and Auba should net me 6.5 additional points Vs starting Sterling and Jota

        Just think Auba is the better option for the first couple of weeks, especially when it means I get Fraser as well.

        Fraser's ev isn't far off Sterling for the first two weeks.

      It’s not essential but they do haul points, Laporte particularly cause he is not rotated and scores semi regularly

      Basically, this is one of two drafts I am debating on, so I think it is quite strong - covers a number of strong teams with good early schedules, and some flexibility to make changes with 2 FT before GW 3.
