Which Watford players should FPL managers consider in 2019/20?

It’s as you were for Watford going into the start of the 2019/20 campaign.

At the time of writing and with just 24 hours before the transfer window closes, the Hornets had made only two first-team signings this summer – one of them Danny Welbeck.

Centre-half Craig Dawson (£5.0m) has arrived from West Bromwich Albion and he was the only player not on the books in 2018/19 who was involved in Watford’s final pre-season friendly against Real Sociedad last weekend.

Javi Gracia’s side are also set to be lining up in their familiar 4-2-2-2/4-4-2 shape, with the Watford boss having briefly experimented with a three-man backline in their penultimate friendly against QPR.

      Depends on your team and your plan going forward. At those price points you rarely hit on the right player right from the off. But between Barkley and Trossard, I would get Trossard. Good first three fixtures, nailed on, set pieces, attacking manager, looked good in pre season and you can easily shift to Barkley if he starts 2 or 3 games in a row and does okay.

      I think Brighton will surprise some people. I liked them pre season. Agreed its pre season but they looked good. And except Man City their first five or six fixtures are decent. Three decent home games in first five.

    Spurs’ home games this calendar year in order: villa, Newcastle, palace, Southampton, Watford, sheff Utd, Bournemouth, Burnley, Chelsea, Brighton.

    Am I daft thinking Kane could get a hatrick against any of those? Perhaps Chelsea aside they all feel like mid or bottom half teams.

      Similar to mine. All about narrowing down best cheap mids and defs. Hoping camarasa is 4.5 or 5 like last season. Also think Brighton def still good value. Your bench must be shocking with Wilson in there?

    going to rotate taylor diop and targett as third defender in 3-5-2. Will play two of them for a 4-4-2 or even 4-5-1 when midfield or attack fixtures are dire.

    I’ve got 1.5 itb right now and wondering whether I should upgrade or even just keep it. I wanna transfer deeney or moura or both out pretty early for mids/fwds in the 6.5-7.5 range (martial, pulisic, haller...) when a good pick shows. the $ gives me flexibility to do so.

      Would recommend upgrading button to a rotating GK. Barkley is a chance as not nailed could share minutes with Mount.

        I don’t really want to worry about rotating keepers. Honestly I usually mess it up so I’m just doing a set and forget on a 4.5, not sure who yet. I might change Barkley to trossard or even get a more expensive player but i’ve got a feeling he’ll get most of the game time at least in the first few weeks so im willing to punt. Nketiah is nothing but fodder, i was only planning on playing 1 or 2 up front based on fixtures so he’d never be called up.

            Ryan has great fixtures but your looking who potentially will gather the most clean sheets so I always look at who is in front of these keepers too.
