Barkley and Mount both start as Pulisic drops to the bench

The final fixture of Gameweek 1 takes place at 16:30 BST as Manchester United welcome Chelsea to Old Trafford.

There weren’t too many shocks upon the release of the teamsheets but perhaps the headline news was that both Mason Mount (£6.0m) and Ross Barkley (£6.0m) – rather than one or the other – start together in Frank Lampard’s first Premier League starting XI as Chelsea manager.

Christian Pulisic (£7.5m) is the man to make way, with the USA international dropping to the bench.

Pedro (£7.0m) completes the trio of attacking midfielders lining up behind lone striker Tammy Abraham (£7.0m).

N’Golo Kante (£5.0m) is only fit enough for a place on the bench, while Willian (£7.0m) and Antonio Rudiger (£6.0m) miss out.

Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka (both £5.5m) are handed their competitive United debuts but Daniel James (£6.0m) is only a substitute.

Andreas Pereira (£5.0m) instead gets the nod and will line up in ‘the hole’, with Jesse Lingard (£6.5m) on the right flank and Marcus Rashford (£8.5m) stationed on the opposite wing.

An ‘out of position’ Anthony Martial (£7.5m) is reportedly set to lead the line.

Budget FPL forward Mason Greenwood (£4.5m) is on the bench, meanwhile.

Chelsea XI: Kepa, Azpilicueta, Christensen, Zouma, Emerson, Kovacic, Jorginho, Mount, Barkley, Pedro, Abraham.

Manchester United XI: De Gea, Wan-Bissaka, Shaw, Maguire, Lindelof, McTominay, Pereira, Pogba, Lingard, Rashford, Martial.

      5-3-2 is a long term team, meant for FPL players who prefer to tick over with trustworthy captain choices and no hits

      I see no bad option in that team, so I'd say roll with it

        Cheers all for the feedback. Sticking with a working team sounds wise especially this early. I highly doubt teams will be as open v United in future too.

      Happy with Martial’s points, but he looked awful. His runs were always directed to the wing, never to the goal, and they lacked intensity. Nonchalant as ever. And nothing in his character shows it will change.

      Last season when they went on return assets returned very well over next couple of months...

      Seems like obvious kneejerk, but lots of value in Martial, Rashford, Pogba...

      If you got on early last year, very nice returns...

      Time to get on board again? Expecting plenty of "kneejerk" replies, but was the same last year....

          Tough one between A and C. B is out. By logic and fixtures, A is the obvious choice. But wolves is not exactly an easy fixture either. I would think C, wait and assess after United plays wolves.

            Not sure, all I know is Potter does like to rotate and they won comfortably first game (with both of Trossard's counterparts performing well). West Ham is a great fixture though and I have Lundstram at home to Palace just in case. Keep or Mcginn seem like the most sensible options

            he got rotated for Gross afaik which is an issue because Gross is massive player for Brighton. I need to check but pretty sure it was Gross he got rotated with in pre season
