New start time for Scoutcast in 2019/20

The Scoutcast is back for Gameweek 2 and will broadcast today at a new earlier time.

For the rest of the 2019/20 season, the show will run from 20:00 to 21:00 UK time on Tuesday evenings (where possible) on our official YouTube channel.

This is to ensure fewer late nights both for our Scoutcasters and our viewers too!

The Scoutcast made history ahead of Gameweek 1 as we overtook Last of the Summer Wine for total episodes.

The famous sitcom ran for a total of 295 episodes between 1973 and 2010.

Last week, we the Scoutcast’s episode count went to 296 and we were joined by one of the show’s long-time guest Granville.

After such a momentous episode, we felt like making history for a second week running.

Ahead of Gameweek 2, we are joined by founder of Fantasy Football Community Holly Shand, who will be the first female guest on the Scoutcast.

The maths teacher and mother of one has only been playing Fantasy Premier League a short time but already has an impressive record.

In five seasons playing the game, she has two top 10,000 finishes and has already started the 2019/20 with 94 points scored in Gameweek 1.

Holly will join regulars Joe, Luke and Az to discuss all the key talking points ahead of Gameweek 2.

That includes what to do with potential Harry Kane and Anthony Martial bandwagons as well as how to handle our transfers in the coming days.

As ever, you can watch live on our YouTube channel but after the broadcast is over, the Scoutcast will be available on the usual platforms.

Nope. Paper thin bench so wanted to get thru Super Cup before even considering an early move. I’ve Moura so there’s a possibility I may make a move (0.5itb), but it’s less likely it’ll be Martial in this week.

wolves away says no, so i left it there

fraser is out before city anyway and by saving i can make better calls for gw3, and i already put myself ina benching headache, just to make sure i could save my tranny. which was fine strategy except for being about 20 points behind the "template"

As i see it, Sterling got most 20 points, but Bilva did not play which i think is a one off, and all of Fraser, Sigurdsson and to a certain degree Firmino could have ended up with same amount of points. Only regret is not picking Lundstram, he seems nailed even with new players now settling in, which gives people who´did that a slight advantages.

Think most are of the same opinion apart from reds and blues fans... Lineups will be of most interest regarding starts for TAA v Gomez, Mount/Barkley v Pulisic, Tammy v Giroud, a fit Kanté to name but a few!

Trossard could play this weekend and score or assist, Martial could blank.

      Same with Moura and McGinn.

I think that with that a -4 at this stage to jump from 2 punts to another 2 punts is a recipe for a bad season. the best advice I could give in my experience is to take the price rise on the chin, hold your FT, and check the lay of the land after next weekend. you’ll be in a much better position both information and transfer wise

Yes, but I was planning on doing Fraser to Son in GW3 and using it together with downgrading KWP to make up the difference.

Was considering myself but I’m quite glad the temptation has been taken away. Eriksen in for Lamela and possible a 4222 formation with Moura alongside Kane.

I’m not even so sure he loses his place when Son is back with Ali out.

    Pope
    Robbo - VVD - Digne - Zinchenko
    Salah - Sterling - Son - Martial - McGinn
    Wood

    4.0 - Lundstram - Greenwood - 4.5

Saving FT this round and doing Perez, Dendo, Wilson > Son, McGinn, 4.5

    Good morning,

FPL managers acting as if price changes is a new thing. There will be a lot of missed opportunity over the season and if you are happy with your team, chances are you were reluctant to bring in the likes of Martial etc so that's a good sign. It's so early, relax and enjoy the points from the likes of Fraser and Perez. You have backed them all along in preseason why not give them one more game? I like United but I have to give them 1 more game against Wolves to finally jump on their bandwagons. I still think gameweek 2 has a lot to offer in terms of surprises. Cheers.

I made the move because it was planned to do so - I make them early to because it’s decisive, obviously it backs if an injury but then any player can get injured, being prudent also backfires.

I think if your in two minds or you want to wait for another GW you should stick to your plan knowing that it may have to change taking everything into consideration

      2. Andy_Social

Moura owners were daft to get him in for just one game. I stressed that 100 times in pre-season.

          • 8 Years

This isn't a fair assessment. Moura was a good short-term punt as a Spurs attacker v Villa fro 7.5m. He now becomes a punt for entirely different reasons.

            • 7 Years
            4 years, 7 months ago

If by short-term, you mean one game, it was a long shot for it to be worth it. He would've had to get double digits in the Villa game at least. A FT is basically worth 4 points.

Anyone who got him should've done it to keep him for at least 2 weeks. He could score vs City and even start the next game.

Punts do tend to be risk-on and this wasn't a bad one.

This. By using a FT in GW1 you can’t do any proper structural changes until GW4 when you have 2 x FTs again. It increases the chances of hitting the WC button imo.

Happy to keep Moura until I see him not being picked. Saves an Aubameyang > Kane transfer too, which I’m reluctant to do.

Although one week isn't enough to go off it was more solskjaers comments about martial being the 9 and obviously Lukaku is gone. His price, listed as a midfielder and playing in strike for a team challenging for top 4 makes him now a no brainer. Before that match I was expecting wide forward same as always, and maybe subbed for a winger

You are right though, wolves have been outplaying utd since last season started. Maybe a martial blank there will make him drop just as fast (wishful thinking)

I wanna hear your best conjecture/theories regarding the price changes. A one off? Or a brand new thing to think about when playing fpl

Even if they're gonna shoot around like they have done? Some people were nowhere near a rise or drop (in the old way of thinking at least)

its fine for me since there are options in every price bracket, so not really a big deal.

First changes of the season so FPL stats always likely to be wrong as is in learning mode. Pretty sure this isn't new. Re the times, FPL app/website been glitchy so far this season so possibly the changes didn't work so they had to put them through manually when the first guy got in the office this morning, or they want to do changes at a different time now for social media purposes. Could be a few things.

Ah I see, been playing for around 6 years but can't remember ever being this thrown off even with the opening rises and falls. Must just be my dodgy memory!

Price changes are very important. When you wildcard that 0.1 extra could just be the difference in getting your dream team in. Trust me they are very important. Not to mention that if you wanted a straight swap for a player you now would either need to take a hit or wait another week. And if the player performs in the week you are waiting he could rise again. Remember there are nearly 6 million people playing this game, players can rise twice in a week. Keep a eye on fpl statistics for price changes.

I don't really do conjecture. Get your GW3 transfer in early and let the algorithms sort themselves out.

                  Who to captain this GW;

                  a) Auba (BUR) - pretty much the reason I started with him over Kane and has a great record in this fixture but I fear the Pope and Burnley wall
                  b) Salah (sot) - the safe option who will be highly captained playing a Southampton defence who conceded three to Burnley. Can def see Salah scoring but again being marooned on 8 points with no BPS.

The reason why we went with Auba is this fixture

Auba, as outlined above. I will be starting Pope in goals also... a save point or two would be nice - not nearly as nice as an Auba hattrick with the armband.

I can smell a Salah hatrick tbh. He will want to keep up with Sterling with the goal count.

The Saints defence and the Burnley defence are radically different animals. No-brainer for me.

Thoughts on KWP for the foreseeable. I have him in my team and I think he will start most of spurs games at RB. Anyone else have any idea if he will be dropped or anything ?

Foyth is injured for the foreseeable and the club appears to be happy to let Aurier go, so I don't think his place is under threat.

I can't see him lasting too long if I'm honest, think Poch will have something up his sleeve. It won't neccessarily be Aurier who comes in either

So he looks nailed for the next 3 or 4 game weeks at least. Think he is a bargain at that price if nailed. He gets forward alot and does get a good couple of crosses in. His link up with Son is delishish. Thanks guys.

                      A. Zouma home to Leicester.
                      B. Lundstrom home to Crystal Palace.
                      C. Moura away Man City.

                      I'm currently thinking of benching A & C
