Lundstram starts as Zaha returns to the Palace line-up

Premier League football returns to Bramall Lane on Sunday as Sheffield United take on Crystal Palace. Kick-off is at 14:00 BST.

Both clubs drew in Gameweek 1, with the Blades snatching a late equaliser against Bournemouth and Roy Hodgson’s side being held by ten-man Everton at Selhurst Park.

Chris Wilder has named an unchanged starting XI from the team that drew 1-1 at the Vitality Stadium, so last week’s goalscorer Billy Sharp (£6.0m) is only among the substitutes.

That also means budget FPL defender John Lundstram (£4.0m) again starts ‘out of position’ in central midfield.

The Blades will line up in a 3-5-2 shape, with David McGoldrick and FPL midfielder Callum Robinson (both £5.5m) leading the line for the hosts.

Wilfried Zaha (£7.0m) makes his first start of 2019/20 for the Eagles, joining Christian Benteke (£6.0m) up front.

Jordan Ayew (£5.0m) is the man to make way.

That is the only alteration that Roy Hodgson has made from Gameweek 1, although Jeffrey Schlupp (£5.5m) has recovered from injury to take his place among the substitutes.

Budget FPL defender Martin Kelly (£4.0m) gets his second start of the campaign at centre-half.

Palace were much better on the road than at Selhurst Park last season and indeed had the sixth-best away record in the top flight.

Only three Premier League clubs scored more goals than the Eagles on their travels (32) in 2018/19.

Fifteen of Sheffield United’s 21 clean sheets last season came in a remarkable second half of the campaign in which they conceded only 14 goals in 23 matches.

The Blades recorded a shut-out in 12 of their 23 home fixtures.

Sheffield United XI (3-5-2): Henderson, Baldock, O’Connell, Egan, Basham, Fleck, Lundstram, Norwood, Stevens, Robinson, McGoldrick.

Crystal Palace XI (4-4-2): Guaita, Ward, Kelly, Dann, Van Aanholt, Milivojevic, McArthur, Townsend, Meyer, Benteke, Zaha.

Lessons learned from Gameweek 2

Never realised how easy it is to get KDB in with a Pool defender downgrade. Too many fires to put out this week so one for GW4, I think.

I only have TAA but happy to go without for a while, they've looked shaky in all games so far (including CS & Super Cup) and can't see that improving at least until Alisson's back.

Truly. If you are considering benching a 7.5 asset for a 4.0 asset, you probably have the wrong 7.5 asset. Don’t @ me about 18/19 AWB. The point still stands.

    Pope/Heaton
    TAA/Digne/Dunk/Balbuena/Rico
    Salah/KDB/Siggy/Perez/Dendoncker

Keeping long term if fit. CS, assists, baps, what's not to like?

Should I go for this maverick WC? 😯

    Adrian - Norris
    Dunk - Pieters - Ward - Soyuncu - Lundstram
    Sterling - Mane - KDB - Martial - Lanzini
    Kane - Pukki - Wickham

Defense is weak but my plan is to upgrade it in a few weeks by downgrading one of Martial/Lanzini, whoever looks poor in the next few. I guess this defense can easily survive for the next 3-4 weeks.

Will get Auba and Son for KDB and Kane in a few weeks as well.

    Thoughts? 🙂

So you are going to change most of there team in a few weeks? Seems a perfect wildcard then

        Just Auba and Son.

Won't be moving on defenders unless the premium smash it.

      Heaton - Henderson
      Coleman - Pieters - Boly - Anybody - Lundstram
      Sterling - Mane - Martial - Lanzini - Ceballos
      Kane - Pukki - Wickham

i looked at a similar draft but with lanzini to cantwell. You cant compare the points you will pick up acroos the board in defence with 2.0 vs a slight downgrade of one attacking player

Does Moura lose his spot to Son or might start with no Alli?

Moura's spot is often on the bench, even more so when Son comes back.

No idea, Moura seems like the least nailed player in history though, doesn't even matter what he does.

Quandry for me as I have both Moura and Lamela and planned to do two transfers to bring in Son for GW3 against Newcastle. Lamela had a great pre-season and has good stats between his absences. Moura just seems to keep on scoring FPL points despite his regular benchings.

After yesterday I'm thinking of holding onto them for one more week to see who if any make way for Son.

I have them both as well, and I am also now thinking about changing my original plan and keeping both for GW3.

Newcastle at home is an excellent fixture for Spurs attackers and I would expect one of Moura and Lamela to start and the other to get time off the bench. They could both be in the points, certainly as much as anyone else around their price bracket. It feels worth the gamble of holding for this fixture then reassessing in GW4.

I hear a lot of pundits saying that Zaha is Real/Barca standard. I'm no expert but this is crazy talk isn't it? What are they seeing?

He'd struggle to get into a top-six PL side, let alone Barca/Real

      Utter nonsense

Do you think Wesley to Pukki is worth a hit? Big Wes doesn't look great.

    1. TheDragon

Wesley does not look like a player who will score many FPL points. So you should def get rid as soon as possible

I just don’t know about Pukki

Yeah, the 6.0 bracket is tough without Maupay starting yet so I'm possibly downgrading TAA/Robbo to someone (Digne, Emerson, AWB) to do Fraser (get out of my team) > Martial and then either saving the cash to move Wes on next week to someone or jumping on Pukki now for a hit.
