Few line-up surprises as Wolves host Man United

Wolves and Manchester United have both named largely unsurprising line-ups for the first Monday night clash of the 2019/20 season.

As expected, Nuno Espirito Santo has made no changes from last week, retaining a 3-5-2 shape for his key men.

The majority of them were not involved when Pyunik were seen off 4-0 at Molineux on Thursday, so Raúl Jiménez (£7.5m) and Diogo Jota (£6.5m) have both had seven days since their last start.

Popular budget midfielder Leander Dendoncker (£4.5m) continues to be involved in the heart of Wolves’ engine room, alongside Rúben Neves (£5.5m) and Joao Moutinho (£5.5m).

Matt Doherty (£6.0m) holds onto his right wing-back berth following injury in pre-season, with Jonny (£5.5m) on the opposite flank.

While Jota and Jiménez boast 19.3% and 11.4% ownership each, the wider Fantasy world does appear to be backing a Manchester United clean sheet.

That’s according to the ownership anyway, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka (£5.5m) the most popular player in the Monday evening meeting.

He currently sits in 36.1% of teams while David de Gea (£5.6m) is owned by 20.4% and Harry Maguire (£5.5m) by 19.2%.

The Gameweek 2 captaincy debate also concludes with Marcus Rashford (£8.6m) getting the final say.

He comes into Gameweek 2 skippered by over 220,000 managers, making him the most fashionable captain at Molineux today.

Meanwhile, Daniel James (£6.0m) comes in for his firstever start for Manchester United in the Premier League.

“He has made an impact since day one. In pre-season, in training and he came on last week to get a goal. We’re going to chop and change at times. Andreas did well last week but today Daniel James is the right choice. Dan is Dan. He’ll give us the X factor of his pace, his attributes also off the ball will be important as he’s incredibly hard-working.” – Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Wolves XI: Patrício; Boly, Coady, Bennett; Jonny, Neves, Moutinho, Dendoncker, Doherty; D Jota, Jiménez.

Man United XI: De Gea; Shaw, Maguire, Lindelöf, Wan-Bissaka; McTominay, Pogba; Rashford, Lingard, D James; Martial.

Have patience with Jota.. He is a class act and will come good. You can expect a goal every 1-2 games from a 6.5 else you'll spend the season chasing shadows

Agonising over these moves. I’m not a fan of a -8 but feel KDB is a must have.

    Fraser, Perez + KWP > KDB + 5.7MID + Lundstram -8

    Team;
    Pope
    VVD KWP* Digne Dunk
    Salah Sterling Fraser* Perez*
    Kane Pukki

    Subs: Button Deondocker Greenwood Rico

Shall I make those moves? Advice much appreciated.

Depends who the 5.7 mid is. You'll need them and Lundstrum to play most games.
Feels like you're losing 3 decent players for 1 good player. He's not Sterling

      1. Danstoke82
        • 9 Years

5.7 mid would be one of Ceballos or McGinn I guess.

KDB would be a season keeper barring injury

Considering -8 as well. I'm trading Wilson, Grealish and Robertson in for Pukki, De Bruyne and Soyuncu (Leicester). Just like you I feel as if De Bruyne is a must from now on.

It’s a tough call as I hate taking a -8 but I can afford it tonight until at least Lundstram or KDB rise again

Same, it's driving me nuts. I do think however that these will pay off. I rather go -8 than a super early WC like many others.

Also, McGinn is a good call. I rate really that guy both on the pitch and as an FPL asset.

Great feedback thankyou. I now just cannot decide between McGinn and Ceballos? You reckon the former?

Absolutely. I've did some research on his previous season, his pre-season form and watched him against Spurs. He's involved in most attacks of Aston Villa looking like he wants to run the ball in the net. Nailed, cheap, okay fixtures and good form.

That game probably sums Martial up. Scores a great goal then decides he's done enough and doesn't put a shift in.

Agree, and you can't ignore how poor central midfield is as well. Pogba and McTominay isn't good enough for top 4 I fear.

Very nice but I will have a stronger defence with MCGinn for Martial.
That's the 4 mids I want though it should be magic. Mane might be ok away from home this year. That's my only doubt around losing Salah but not like those mids don't offer enough C choice anyway.

Is the man utd defence for real? I'd projected 12 clean sheets pre season - we reckon more or less than that? The defenders (AWB) are on the cusp of great value, but man city/digne/pool edged them on the basis of more cleanies/attacking threat, but do look pretty solid
