How good are Pukki’s upcoming fixtures after hat-trick heroics?

Teemu Pukki (£6.8m) has already taken FPL by storm, scoring four goals in his first two Premier League matches.

Fantasy managers are flocking to sign the Norwich forward, with a third price rise of the season occurring overnight.

The hat-trick scored against Newcastle in Gameweek 2 sent the demand for Pukki into overdrive, but his new owners were clearly also impressed with his ability to score even at Anfield in Gameweek 1.

However, there are still some who are a little concerned about Norwich’s upcoming fixtures.

So we’ve analysed the numbers recorded so far this season to test whether or not Pukki is a sensible signing for Gameweek 3.

As this article uses data from the Fantasy Football Scout Members Area, only those who have signed up for the 2019/20 season can access it in full.

Have Pukki’s underlying statistics been good?

Lessons learned from Gameweek 2

im not sure its going to pay off tbh, its a risk ive taken though. On a wildcard i've swapped salah to mane and dropped both my pool defenders too. Freed up enough to have Mane, Sterling, Trossard, KDB, Martial, Pukki and Kane.

Considering moving Salah to Mane and TAA to Digne/AWB to Montoya and upgrading Greenwood to a 6.5. Do you think my original team is better or going with the switches, and if the switches which defensive switch do you think is better?

Price falls are so much worse than missing price rises. That's why Perez is causes me pain right now.

I wasn't planning on selling him, but now it looks like he will drop in price tonight, and leicester's fixtures are a mixed bag compared to teams like chelsea or everton. But then I would be buying either Mount or Bernard if i were to base it on fixtures. Can't decide whether to be patient and suck up the 0.1 price drop, or transfer mainly for the sake of price rises

    1. Greek Flair

The game is primarily about points. But we all know that over a season if you continuously miss price changes you will be a couple of million short of your opponent's teams, and won't be able to pick up those point-accruing stars that they can afford.

Price changes shouldn't be simply ignored

        1. Greek Flair
          • 8 Years

yeah I get what you're saying, but don't let a price drop dictate your strategy.

If you wanted to start Perez this week then start him against Sheffield.

If you wanted him out, then do it before the price drop.

If he wasn't falling in price, no.

....but, BECAUSE he is falling in price i started comparing his stats to Mason Mounts. Only 2 matches, yeah, but Mount faced man utd and his stats are far better.

Now...I wouldn't have considered this if he wasn't falling in price. But now I am, I'm starting to convince myself that those stats would have encouraged me to move him on even if he wasn't falling in price.

    Which team is better?

    Wildcard team 1:
    Ryan, Pope
    VVD, Mina, Laporte, Söyüncü, (Lundstram)
    Mane, Sterling, KDB, Martial, (Ceballos)
    Pukki, Barnes, (Martinelli)
    0,2 itb

4-4-2 and 4-5-1 with one of Ceballos or Barnes as playing and the other first sub and sometimes 3-5-2.

    Wildcard team 2:
    Pope, Adrian
    VVD, Laporte, Söyüncü, (Lundstram, Montoya)
    Mane, Sterling, KDB,Ceballos, (Dendocker)
    Pukki, Barnes, Rashford

3-4-3 witch Dendocker and the 4.0 defenders on the bench with small rotation options.

    So its basically like this.

    1.Ryan, Mina, Martial, Martinelli

    2.Pope, Montoya, Dendocker, Rashford

With 1 i get two strong starting options in Martial and Mina.
And 2 i get one very good starting forward in Rashford and good rotation options. What looks better in you're eyes?

Here is the thing. We know Newcastle is fodder but Pukki took his goals very well.

If Kane can score a hattrick vs Newcastle then well done to those picking him for the fixture.

Pukki's price compared to any big hitting striker is to good to ignore and having Kane you cannot have all the players you want in midfield.

I prefer 4 big hitters in midfiels and 3 attacking fullbacks plus Jota and Pukki up top.

That is just me this season.

    Thats just me.

You must have massive balls in that case. His points potential is as good as anyone's arguably bar Sterling with his upcoming fixtures.

      GW1 Sterling(C) hattie
      GW2 Pukki(C) hattie
      GW3 Kane(C) hattie
Just need to decide whether to TC or not...

      Thats just me.

I would say yes as nailed as anyone can really be though in peps team. Only nagging worry I have for now is that pep did say cancelo can play on the left. I don't think he will loose his spot until other competitions get under way. We might get another 2 gameweeks of risk free.

Would you get him on WC though? Or go with Mina

Ha ha. I am currently on a wc and I am having the same dilemma. I am reluctantly not. Only reason why is I don't want to be using fts in the future on a defender if I can help it. He hasn't looked very attacking at the moment. If he has a lot of assist potential I would be more inclined to take the risk

Will start AWB with 442 over Wickham

Random question but does anyone recall if Taa was dropped against arsenal last season and replaced by Gomez to tighten up the backline? He is my pool defence but wondering if it's worth swapping to Vvd

Only worth swapping if you are going to make use of the 0.5

Well it would be Kelly and Taa or vvd and 4.5. Maybe that Leicester centre half?

Trent started and I’d be amazed if he didn’t again.

    B) 5.5m defender

    Best replacement for C.Wilson? 8.0

Got 2FT with the below team, what do you suggest?

    Ederson - Button
    Diop - Digne - Robbo - Lunds - Montoya
    Salah - Sterling - McGinn - Trossard - Dendo
    Wilson - Kane - Greenwood

Thanks for your valuable suggestions in advance..

So is Zinchenko nailed now? or is he still a rotation risk

    1. George Sillett
      • 8 Years

He will always be a rotation risk. Only Laporte and Ederson are nailed from that backline.

Should start. KdB can also be rested.
