How good are Pukki’s upcoming fixtures after hat-trick heroics?

Teemu Pukki (£6.8m) has already taken FPL by storm, scoring four goals in his first two Premier League matches.

Fantasy managers are flocking to sign the Norwich forward, with a third price rise of the season occurring overnight.

The hat-trick scored against Newcastle in Gameweek 2 sent the demand for Pukki into overdrive, but his new owners were clearly also impressed with his ability to score even at Anfield in Gameweek 1.

However, there are still some who are a little concerned about Norwich’s upcoming fixtures.

So we’ve analysed the numbers recorded so far this season to test whether or not Pukki is a sensible signing for Gameweek 3.

As this article uses data from the Fantasy Football Scout Members Area, only those who have signed up for the 2019/20 season can access it in full.

Have Pukki’s underlying statistics been good?

Lessons learned from Gameweek 2

Is it worth a -4 to get rid of either Wilson or Perez, or both?

Have Pukki and Mount in mind

I know usually people are opposed to minus but you need to weigh up the next 3 to 4 games when doing so

I fancy pukki to outscore the Bournemouth lads over 4 games

Yes. Newcastle at home. Kane could score big. And already have City cover in Sterling.

I think KdB has his own case this season and can't be covered by Sterling, however I see your point. Kane could be a good buy, my main rival already has him.

With 1 you're prevented from double pool defense once Allison is back so that's a thought. Adrian gave up the goal week 1 and it was save-able. TAA and Robertson have both been very close each game to more attacking returns, a tad misleading their point tallies.

On WC, final decision comes down to Kane or not to Kane:

    A) Van Dijk, Salah, Martial, Barnes

    B) Dunk, Mane, Mount, Kane

    Both teams contain:

    Pope Button
    Digne AWB Zinch Lundstram XXX
    XXX Sterling KDB XXX Cantwell
    Pukki XXX Wickham

    1. Goonsquad245
      • 7 Years

      A is a lot better.

      I'd go for Salah/Zinch to Mane/Laporte though

I agree A is better. However, with no Spurs cover, you will be sweating on Sunday afternoon.

I wrote 'I would consider removing Zinch to 4.5, VVD to 4.5, Salah>Mane. Frees up 4.5 which gives you enough to upgrade to the Cantwell>Son differential'

    WC team.
    Pope (£4.0m)
    Walker, Mina, Maguire (Lundstram, Rico)
    Son, KDB, Martial, Trossard (Dendonker)
    Kane, Firmino, Vardy

Not sure about the 3 defenders. Any better combinations costing £17.0m?
    Robbo, Maguire + Montoya/Söyüncü?

      Yep

He's got an absurd XGA apparently but if they go in they go in. Seriously thinking of captaining him this week over Kane.

After week 1 a rampant Liverpool attack at home against a team that doesn't really know how to or want to defend looked a decent option 🙂 A week off and no Super Cup with a settled attack back together might help too.

          Ha

Equation is that I have Kane and Sterling anyway. Mane is a sufficient differential still that even a 17 pointer for Kane could result in a relatively small net loss should Mane score once.

Decent upside. And well I suspect that match was as much about Norwich and Pukki as Newcastle who looked solid enough against Arsenal - they'll be going there to defend which may not have been the case last week.

          Likewise, he was a machine.

If it turns out that the solidity sticks and, as the article suggests, it's as a result of a tactical shift then Silva and his staff will deserve huge praise

      Good read

The Echo has some great analysis. There was a fascinating piece linked here preseason that highlighted Gueye's role in turning things around and the combinations that made the difference

I've been converted to Everton defence having been very sceptical of Silva who was the man who managed to make Hull even worse defensively. Think I may have misjudged that one 🙂

      Digne possibly out confuses things.

      I'd go VVD Walker AWB

City have such a great run coming up and I'm guessing a lot of teams will go into damage limitation mode against them and make cs probablity very high. Walker feels good for regular starts and could become Cancelo if need be.

AWB could be Coleman. Close call imo. He'd also work as a placeholder for Cancelo if you don't go Walker.

Not as yet, only 2 clean sheets last week.

The point was always that it would require patience and holding premium defenders for long periods, and there are far fewer players have that kind of patience than players who adopted the strategy.

Plus Liverpool looking shaky doesn't help the cause

Looked great when he came on, will surely start at Villa.

Will probably rotate, should be Abraham really but looks like his confidence has taken a knock.

Did he? Didn't catch it. Feels like there are a lot of components in the right place for Everton to really kick on

Which one is more appealing to you guys?

    A: Pope, TAA, Zinchenko

B: Ederson, VVD, Dunk (or any other 4.5)

Keep in mind that I got ederson at 6.0 and dunk at 4.5

So Digne probably out and I have Guilbert and Rico on the bench... I guess I have only myself to blame for making early transfers.

Digne went off before the last gameweek even ended. You must've already known he was a risk when you made the transfer. In any case, he's fine so chill.
